You have to click the rat fast enough till it says that you caught it if you don't get a message that you caught it then try again. I just kept rolling back and trying till it appeared in one of the spots it appears at and clicked it.

Make sure you are rested and repeat the buttons sequence by that order when you start training. I am not sure about the scene in this update. I think there is none but I may be wrong
