Well, looks like they may be so deadset on steam release that they will delay the remake to drastically alter the game to fit steam rules. Probably a RIP game for me.

It looks like Pink Penguin also abandoned the game. No-one has heard from the developer since the game was banned from steam (for predictable reasons). Last discord message was PinkPenguin was — 08/25/2023

Yep, guy seemed so dead set on steam release that it mind broke him. Last I heard he was redoing everything to make it steam compliant. Game is dead, whatever he releases eventually will not be this game.

Also, someone (PinkPenguin in this case) actually paid money to the rights of a game that they were going to completely change to not even resemble the original. Wtf is that logic?

I'm going to buy the rights to Spider-Man and instead make a Batman game. Like wtf, this guy was clearly never even mentally equipped to make a game, if this was something he was seriously doing. Shame tho, game was awesome.

I get the feeling he thought he could dump it onto steam with minimum work and use the current player base to make money. But when Steam denied it (no shit) he panicked.

You're not wrong. When Steam denied it, instead of trying Patreon or similar platforms first, he said that steam required him to remake all the art, change its name, and drastically alter the story. Which at that point, what's the point? lol. Then he went radio silence after that. I assume he got mad at all the backlash on the discord from that announcement.
