Very important point. That line of defense is in reality harming women, not supporting and helping them. It ignores their reality for the sake of a naive ideal which at the end is anotherone of male fantasies, just a more dishonest one.

Totally agree. I was also thinking about posting similar point. The one point in ch2 establishes more is how much a liar Vivian is. Throughout the whole chapter Vivian established that her words means SHIT. She tells one thing and do things totally in 180.
Sorry to say this but your post's are confusing, at-least to me. It seem you're rooting for Christian-Vivian love story, that's not a problem in itself but what confuses me is your logic behind their support.
I'm no Hutch-lover or Vivian-Hater. I do have some sympathy for Hutch and contempt for Vivian till this point of story but that's it as a bystander/viewer. It may change in the future.
Many Corruption, NTR specially NTS/CUCK/HOTWIFE stories uses the logic of 10-20 year of faithful marriage with hidden/suppressed sexual/emotional wife who now in the story has found a way to fulfill those urges outside marriage. The bad NTS/Hotwife stories tries to shove them saying it's their right after 20 years of faithfulness and love and she is entitled to it. I always thought reading those stories/games "HEY I've been a model citizen for some time so can I get away now with robbing a BANK"
In my earlier posts, I wrote about what a scumbag I thought Christian was. I also wrote that I found all 3 characters unlikable for different reasons, but I made it clear that I hated Christian. Even as I am writing about Vivian, one of my main points is about how Christian is abusing her. That is why I wrote in a previous post, and a very recent one, that Vivian makes me angry for her lies, hypocrisy, and betrayals, by I pity her for how she is allowing herself to be abused. Christian abuses her because of how terrible a person he is. That is what makes her relationship and obsession with Christian so tragic. I wrote in earlier posts that Christian wants to humiliate both Hutch and Vivian because in the first chapter some people missed how Christian was humiliating Vivian. They saw how hurt Hutch was by what he saw Christian and Vivian doing, and how insulting Christian was when he talked about Hutch, but failed to see how poorly Christian was treating Vivian. I also wrote how angry I was at Hutch for being so passive, and being unwilling to confront Vivian about what happened. Of the 3, Hutch is the only 1 who did not actively harm anyone. Vivian repeatedly harmed Hutch by cheating on him, and lying to him. She is also a hypocrite for rationalizing her infidelity while at the same time saying she would be against Hutch being with someone. Christian is victimizing both Hutch and Vivian. Vivian is being victimized by Christian, but she is also victimizing Hutch. Hutch isn't victimizing anyone, but he is flawed in how he has handled the situation with Cristian and Vivian.

Christian is really well written. The perfect antagonist. Hitchcock said no great story without a great villain. And we have a great villain here ! He even manages to make Vivian her own antagonist, and an antagonist for Hutch. Brilliantly written !

That hasn't been foreshadowed so far. So, that theory is a shot in the dark. Can it hit the mark? Hardly, but who knows. Now, given what we've seen so far, the most logical assumption is that Hutch simply doesn't have the guts to defend his dignity.

I played the Ch2 again just to see how Hutch was reacting. Spoiler and very big post ahead....
Throughout he showed he knows what kind of situation he's in & what his wife desires and how hopeless it is for him, unlike Vivian.
Here Vi points out he's the CEO of house
I think he came to understand after the bathroom scene what Vivian thinks of him and what she really wants. I think he wanted Vivian to decide to stop it on her own accord cause in their marriage it was always her who took the action.
I mean After he asked her if she wanted to go look at his expression when she said yes
Also in most times married man can't say no to their wives when they put this much afford to get ready. She even got dressed in a really reveling dress which he rightly assumes a gift from boss
He even points it out how reveling it is
but like how she is instead of changing she makes a excuse
which wasn't true by the way
Also another thing is when he was first surprised how vulgar the dress is she hides her boobs from her husband
but didn't even tried to hide her modestly when the waiter was staring
Though she asked Hutch few time to tell her not to go
but if Hutch really said stop, would she have stopped? I think she would have because of her delusion. But he didn't cause he thinks she will do it again and this time he wouldn't know about it. And There is no way she could prove it otherwise, that is why he doesn't respond to her I love you cause he knows they are just words no feelings behind him. As sex was her way to show him that she loves him
but now she is having sex with another person so now she loves the other man.
ALSO when she was leaving she kissed his cheek
but there was not lipstick mark on him. It was more of a peck you give to a friend. While when Christian asked to kiss him
it leaves a lipstick mark which she needed to remove lovingly whiteout being asked. Also Christian deliberately did this to humiliate Hutch, he WINKS at him while she was kissing him
and like always she did things first with Christian & remembers Hutch later
and she was more angry that he said something to Hutch
cause other wise she had to acknowledge that she kissed Christian cause she forgot about Hutch as usual and it's their thing
Also Hutch wasn't buying her lies anymore
but he sure hoped I guess she will stop
One of Hutch's point came true that he can't get her to places where Christian can, look how fascinated she is
As like usual she deluded herself that she wasn't the one making the choices
which overall all through this VN till now Christian points out whenever the topic comes
but before Christian reveals this he asked if Hutch gave her permission to have sex also to which she tries to convince her
BUT when everything is revealed she takes the liars way out

so far, I don't think any of the renders were for fun. Even the ones that SC said they wouldn't be - they were in an altered form. So.... I think the pool will appear.... because it is in a location that will be important to the story. Bot not for kids
