If your job is to sale things, yes being very succesfull means being huge bc u need a lot of administrative functions (sales, legal, accounting, hr, eventually it). Even for a medium sized company, that'sa lot of people. I remind you the sales room is not very crowded. Christian didn't give a shit about Vivian ideas, he just knew he was gonna use this to hit that.
But we already know that almost all the other business functions are at a different location. So we have literally no idea how big the company is. It's a bit pointless to speculate on the size of the company when we know so little about it. It could be that the vast majority of it is at the other location (maybe there are several other locations?). Literally all we know about the size of it is that we only see the sales function - and corporate sales at that, it's not like individual consumers where they'd need phonebanks manned by dozens of employees.

The wining and dining is Vivian's idea for the customers, to show the human touch. They are just going to try it out on Christian first, to show him what they mean by it, and that it works. Though of course, that backfires, in a sense...
"Wine&Dine" idea from Vivian has it aim at having diner and wine with Christian at their house for Hutch having the possibility to present the Five-Point plan Vivian researched on the internet and to sell all as Hutch's idea. This way they wanted to convince Hutch's boss that Hutch is willing to do everything to keep his job.

Christian recognized their wine & dine plan and knew it was Vivian's idea.
The Five-point plan
  • Focusing on interpersonal relationships with clients
  • Making a personal connection with them
  • Family
  • Researching the client's personal lives, hobbies, interests
  • incorporating that into your social interactions and sales pitch
never found the ears of Christian!

Those things you bullet point are the "wining and dining" part, just not using those words. Vivian says they'll test it on Christian because Hutch knows him - he knows his favourite food, his favourite wine, so they'll wine and dine him to show him the plan in action. It's like he's the test subject for it.

This gives me another idea, what if Christian is doing some shady deals and is hiding the company’s money in a Swiss bank account or money laundering, and only Hitch looks close enough at the contracts to find this but keeps it to himself and makes copies to be the whistleblower for immunity that he and Addison don’t go to jail, but every other employee does, including your cheating wife, or maybe she doesn’t go but she will she go visit Christian in prison for conjugal visits?
The last words hitch will say to Christian “Hey boss don’t drop the soap” :ROFLMAO:

The office work and all the speculation surrounding it are not that important or interesting.
The story is only interesting for one good reason, the interpersonal relationships and dialog.
Keep in mind that we will have a maximum of 3x3=9 sexual acts per episode. The rest goes into the dialog and a few side stories that may not be that relavant. In my opinion only the son story could be interesting.
There won't be as much time and space for many more characters. That would ruin the story and overload it.
The focus will remain on Hutch, Vivian, Christian and the humiliation.

You are mixing the wine&dine idea with the five-point plan Vivian worked out for Hutch.
I just reviewed the script and it's more or less the same thing and it's idiotic. Either she 's a total idiot thinking what she says is a good idea or either she thinks so highly of herself to think it'sa remotely good solution. Real world doesn't work like this. Not to mention, inviting your boss to dinner after he basically tells you he would fire youthe next dayis again laughable. guys i like the VN like you, but you are worrying me thinking it's remotely believable situation.

The boss doesnt care about the wining and dining of clients, he just wants to take her out and show her what it would be like as one of his bitches instead of staying with Hutch, dont know of any business meeting that requires your tits to be out.

It is all a joke to him, a game. He is probably hoping that she is seen out with him so it humiliates Hutch even more.

So which corner are you working tonight? I Feel like trying out a younger model so will go elsewhere.

Exactly, she goes by herself in the lion's den, thinking she's got something to add to the table. Hadn't guessed it was just herself.

It doesn't matter how many discussions about the different POVs at the end we must wait for the dev and his personal way to create this story. I think he will make some corrections to create more intense scene. At the end is going to be a such great game. I am very sure.

Really real world...lol! Now saying it's nearly the same though it isn't just reveals that you didn't understood what was going on on day 1.

This is the script. If you think that's how the real world works, yeah, i cannot do anything for you. Good salesmen don't need this kind of bs. Mostt of great salesmen i've encountered just know how most the humans react in certain situations and don't need to know anything about their cliens' life to make them sign a contract.

If the business is dodgy and the clients know this, how would that go down? Hey hows the family, your son just left for college right? Hows the wife? Still shopping at that little lingerie store on main street?

Would be more like mob action, hey I know all about your family, still gonna leave?

Just take a look at the preview pics Dev sent us a couple of days before. Hutch at the nudie bar!
You are going to the nudie bar to have fun, relax and let some steam off. Even Al Bundy, a shoe salesman knows how to appreciate that kind of place. What does Hutch do? Exactly...n o t h i n g !
If your life and relationship was going to shit, I doubt the nudiie bar is going to help.

While some have commented that maybe this hints at Hutch not being very good at his job altogether, I think it is also possible that Christian somehow knew these clients were in jeopardy of being lost (perhaps for reasons outside of Hutch's control) and then informed Hutch about it when it was already too late to retain their business. If that were the case, then this would have set things up to where Christian could blame Hutch for losing the two clients, though not really his fault.
I previous mentioned my theory on what happened with those accounts.... I'm going to stick to it. see below

A lot has been said about Vivian's ideas for the 'project', and how Christian is running with it.
Let's be real, what she thinks the plan is (wine and dine and be some eye candy), and what Christian wants it to be, and two totally different things.
I wonder what she will think of herself when she realizes that she is basically becoming a whore for hire. How will she face Hutch? What will Hutch think when he finds out? Will she even care? This is not the price of love in any ones books!

Guy it's the opposite, it's when there is a lot of options for a client that you have to do the extra mile.Look at their offices, it's not a big business. look at Christian house (my parents have a way bigger house and they are not rich). Money being good is not the same thing as being a huge company.

On a sidenote, i find it troubling Huctch lost the very clients Christian warned him about.
I remember Christian saying not to mind about the house, that he lived there for the views and the land, and that he might build another house there to replace it because he liked the views that much.

So, the state of his current house doesn't really reflect finanical backing. Either that, or he's just making excuses when he invites them in and get to see the house he lives in.

A good salesman must outdo others by offering something that the client likes. You take them to their favorite sports game, to their favorite restaurant, do them kids a fravor, whatever. If you stand still in good hope they will sign a contract with you, you clearly underestimate other salesman. This is how real world works nowadays.
Sure continue to believe that.

It's the norm to catch big fish while you can keep the sardines. It's all about information in this kind of business.

I agree with both of you, a big seller sells ice to the Eskimos...
But a great seller if he wants to make a sale to a great customer must know and know all of his client weaknesses and its peculiarities , must become his "friend" because the big deals are not done in two hours, it takes days weeks... Then at the end we talk about some sentences of a script that serve to start the story but are not the "story" are only part of the story.

Regarding what Hutch was doing when he went missing, there is some extra commented out dialog in the code.

It's good that it was removed because otherwise it would have limited the story going forward i think. at least now there is still a mystery on what he was doing. Plus i don't think it would fit with the direction it's going in. But hey, what do I know.

Regarding Hutch's being weak or mild, In the bathroom scene where Vivian gets angry and decides to leave, (side-note: Christian wouldn't let her leave, proving that all that bullshit about she is free to go, is just that... bullshit)
screenshot0001.png
Hutch hears her plea....
screenshot0002.png
He is getting ready to get up and come to her aid... Showing that he does at least have some backbone.
screenshot0003.png screenshot0004.png
But ultimately he hears how she is enjoying it, and is a willing partner, further breaking his spirit. (Seriously Hutch my man, dump this bitch :) )

And when he leaves the bathroom...
screenshot0005.png
This is the face of a man who has been to war and seen things... this is the face of a man in shell-shock. A blank stare unable to feel joy or sadness, complete emptiness. I hoped this would be the face he always shows Vivian from now on, let it weigh on her.
