Why not both? They could both have been wild to some degree when young and free. Life, age and raising a family tend to mellow out most of us.
i see this happening or at least a version of it as an explanation of how they were or have been up till now in their marriage. this gets the reader more invested in the vn.

Project Update

The next 24hrs of game time is done. About 1k images and animations. Most of the preview images already teased will not be in this release. Those will be in the third (v0.6). So a good chunk of that release is, thankfully, already done.

The more I think about it, the more appropriate 20% increments are as they are natural spots in the story to pause on. So next update will be v0.4 and deals more with Viv and her mindset. After that will be v0.6 and deals more with Hutch (but not exclusively) and the limits of what he's willing to endure (if there are any). v0.8 builds towards the final climax (hehe) and of course, v1.0 deals with the end and the epilogue.

Curiosity question: Are you guys more engaged, more interested, in this story because there are no choices? Are other games more boring because every possibility exists and there is no mystery? Or is MHB just an exception and choices are always a high priority?

I don't want to derail this thread talking about other games, but there's a few well know games I've given up on because it was just to many paths and, even with a mod, I got knocked off the paths I wanted and was too frustrated to try and start over. I will mention an exception, Chasing Sunsets, by name cause it's my favorite. It essentially had three paths, which was good, but I didn't feel one ending was significantly different than the others (girl A, girl B, or both).

I choose not to have multiple paths because every event plays into the next so multiple paths would require, literally, multiple stand alone stories. Hutch couldn't bust out of the bathroom stall and bitch slap Chris without rewriting every scene that comes later. If my story is just an exception to the 'multiple paths' rule, then I'm happy to be that exception.

Honestly I love that it is kinetic, its like a good book or movie, if I were given choices it would lessen the experience for me, I would skip over stuff to get to the goods, and honestly there are a lot of games that I do that with, it gets boring.

The characters are done really well and have meaning, that has made the story really good in my opinion.

With saying that, I would love to see another game with the same characters, but a different story, your Vivian model is outstanding, she is beautiful, sexy, and edgy, all with a sweet and simple look of someone you'd meet at the grocery store, I vote for more of her in either a continuation, or a new story all together :)

I bought my wife a shorty satin and lace night slip like Vivian's, and it is a definite winner, short enough to show off the legs and cut deep enough to show the girls, shit she could leave it on, I can work around it, LOL

Only Watching My Wife had a comparably good script, with decent graphics as well. Unfortunately, the developer failed when it came to the story paths, although they did manage to lead it to a small finale.
But after reading the script it appears that before Christian, Vivian seem to be a very "vanilla" kind of woman. She says that before Chrstian she was faithful, seems to despise anal and i don't think for her sex was an important topic before "the events"

Where did you find this part that she was faithful? I dont recall to see it in the game.

Yes, the beauty of your game is that it is a kinetic novel without choices, playing your game I feel like I am watching a movie. I also like games with choices. But your game is an exception - a diamond in the genre of kinetic novels. Keep up the good work!

well after reading all the players opinion i am sure you are going to continue ( the dev) the trayectory of your story it is amazing how the reaction is in one voice .Keep your game as it is ! is the best game ever !!

Problem with choices in these games is, there are two kinds of psychologies connected to it:
1. Oh, this feels like an important crossroads, I'm curious how different everything will evolve if I do this and not that. This is interesting because it gives me alternatives to explore more.
2. I want a customized experience in which I only encounter those things I know beforehand and I know I like and which keeps me safe and I know what to expect and I don't get surprised and disturbed. Therefore I want choices which are there to safeguard me in this and allow me to totally control the experience. I can blend out what I don't like.

And I have the strong impression that the choices in games nowadays tend towards 2.

Apart from that with this particular game no choice is certainly part of the success - the story rapes the viewer so to speak, he has no choice in it but to go along.

Your KN works because it's your story you wanted to deliver with essentials that you have missed in other games.
I like how you express the emotions on pictures and with sound than rather explain those through dialogs.

The more choices one game has the more it gets complicate especially when requests are coming in from subscribers.
So if you start a game with choices in the future I'd suggest to keep it simple and superficial. Some doesn't like old sneaky lecher others doesn't want bbc, some like piercing and tattos others don't, etc.
Give them sth. they can decide over and they are happy but when those choices go deeper than just only by appearances you might consider multiple endings depending on the paths, differernt expressions on their faces for similar scenes just different roles (if you keep your standards).

You did quite a really good start with your KN. The intro could have been even shorter imo.
The story jumps in where one of the protagonists gets into trouble at work and shortly after we learn just enough about the 3 characters the story is build on. We have Vivian, head of a family who immediately fell out of her shoes when she came face to face with Christian, Hutch's boss, a self-confident man with a strong charisma unlike her husband, who is a reserved and quite introverted person.
There are lots of mysteries surrounding each character especially in release 1 (version 0.2). We feel like Vivian gave in to early besides her love for Hutch and the intention to save his job, but there is also the observation that she might got teased long before she met Christian and it already blazed inside her, when watching the scenes how her eyes met Marcel's in school.
Apart from your great renders and very well written dialogs, it is the mysterious about nearly each character and some events that you still keep hidden from us that makes your KN so captivating.

Gotta say it's your story that has me hooked it came out the gate swinging and we couldn't dodge it. I love choice games cause if they come out the gate swinging, we can choose to dodge it. You made me personally feel ok I am good not having control. Personally maybe for a future project you could do a choice game maybe keep it quiet do like 50% then drop it out of the blue just like you did this and give an extended timeline of next half. Unique is what you have created though. Great job.

that can be interpreted in various ways ... one is she is convincing herself that the husband didn't know anything was wrong and he believes her lies and that hutch is depressed about the situation they are in. another side to the is vivian has been a "free spirit" in the past and now has mellowed down like tony/joe posted in their earlier posts about possible theories about the couples past. at no point does she think that she doing exactly what christian wants and it is destroying her marriage. vivian keeps making bad choices for her marriage one after the other not realizing what she is doing. so it can be interpreted as vanilla and can also be interpreted as succumbing to her old ways.

I can definitely see Vivian as being a lot more amenable to succumbing to temptation and adulterous behaviour given her (presumably) free-spirited and adventurous nature when she was younger.

Your game is clearly an exception. Your female character is hot as fuck, characters are real grown up adults with their strengths and flaws, the cinematic way of telling the story is outstanding. I would like to have some options to maybe have different outcomes, but because of all the characteristics that make your game exceptional, I don't mind the kinetic aspect of it. It's enjoyable and engaging.

The way dude just walks in the kitchen and boss has his wife bent over a table outside with no clue as to how other than the perceived threat of losing their income is shocking. I'd love to see the dialog between them that lead to that scene. They just left the room for a tour of the house and then BAM, boss is railing the wife. it's a very smart and intriguing way to handle that part of the story.
