I don't want to derail this thread talking about other games, but there's a few well know games I've given up on because it was just to many paths and, even with a mod, I got knocked off the paths I wanted and was too frustrated to try and start over.

No You are absolutely right. One of the main reasons I connected with MHB right away apart from the fantastic renders, realistic dialogues, visual storytelling and you have an intriguing and noble attitude towards potential patrons is that this thing actually stood true to its name. A fucking visual NOVEL. Games like ORS that have interesting writing and great artwork get on my nerves so much because it feels like there is no fucking story. there is something for everybody. like how is it different from fan service. as a developer whats the story that you wanted to say? Anyway when you wrote you dont like too many choices and always play with a walkthrough. BOOM. Fell in love with you at that moment. ILY

So the first time I seen Vivian's upper back tattoo I knew what it was, but couldn't figure out why I knew, then it was revealed that it was a Poe poem, and I started digging, and found this gem in my book collection, I knew I had read that line before, lol

For me, there's one thing that takes away "credibility" from the whole story. There aren't many situations that show me that Hutch and Vivian are married. If you take the text out of the story, there are no actions that make me think they are husband and wife (except when Vivian is supposed to touch his dick in bed and Hutch rejects her). They don't have sex, I think (I'm not sure) that they don't even kiss on the mouth.

Then you agree to sleep with his boss and spend the night moaning like crazy WITH YOUR HUSBAND ON THE COUCH. And to top it off you get up to go to the kitchen to get something to drink COMPLETELY NAKED and not content with that you fuck her boss again with YOUR HUSBAND IN THE NEXT ROOM.


I love the game because Vivian is very attractive. But I'm sorry, I've played it several times and each time it seems to make less sense to me. Vivian's regretful faces make me feel so sorry because it seems like she loves her husband. But everything she does shows me that she doesn't. Being objective, the character construction is not well done.

I agree this needs some explaining, which we will hopefully get in the next update when we will apparently have further insight into the wifes mindset. It cant just simply be "I love my husband so to keep him happy I am just gonna go fuck his boss". With the warnings from Hutch before the dinner and his hesitation when she is about to go into the bedroom for round 2 through to 20, she can not think this is all for him.

Simple explanation is that she might have the IQ of a potato chip.

Well Vivian thought Hutch was drunk and who said she wasn't betraying Hutch before?! We caught Vivian lying before and after the dinner.
Only because she said to Christian she never cheated on Hutch before, doesn't mean she's not lying again.
The eye contact between her and Marcel (afro american high-school basketball player) and the invitation to sit behind him during the play seems rather suspicious and suggests that something has already happened between the two of them. ( only a suspicion )

I'm not sure what you think was missing to 'show' they're married. What else should have been done or said to show that? Relationships can vary a lot, and if she's enjoying her cheating so much their physical relationship was likely not great in the first place.

this vn has varied reactions from different readers. its just them voicing their views but only one opinion matters at the end of the day ( the dev's ).

Project Update

The next 24hrs of game time is done. About 1k images and animations. Most of the preview images already teased will not be in this release. Those will be in the third (v0.6). So a good chunk of that release is, thankfully, already done.

The more I think about it, the more appropriate 20% increments are as they are natural spots in the story to pause on. So next update will be v0.4 and deals more with Viv and her mindset. After that will be v0.6 and deals more with Hutch (but not exclusively) and the limits of what he's willing to endure (if there are any). v0.8 builds towards the final climax (hehe) and of course, v1.0 deals with the end and the epilogue.

Curiosity question: Are you guys more engaged, more interested, in this story because there are no choices? Are other games more boring because every possibility exists and there is no mystery? Or is MHB just an exception and choices are always a high priority?

I don't want to derail this thread talking about other games, but there's a few well know games I've given up on because it was just to many paths and, even with a mod, I got knocked off the paths I wanted and was too frustrated to try and start over. I will mention an exception, Chasing Sunsets, by name cause it's my favorite. It essentially had three paths, which was good, but I didn't feel one ending was significantly different than the others (girl A, girl B, or both).

I choose not to have multiple paths because every event plays into the next so multiple paths would require, literally, multiple stand alone stories. Hutch couldn't bust out of the bathroom stall and bitch slap Chris without rewriting every scene that comes later. If my story is just an exception to the 'multiple paths' rule, then I'm happy to be that exception.

There's a lot of things here :

- For the signs they are married : Not shocking for me as they are married for 22 years and they are in tough place right from the start of the story. Not surprising to not be touchy feely.

- i ranted myself about Vivian's stupidity for that night. I think maybe the dev has sacrified some credibility for the sake of the impact of the scene seen from Hutch's pov and to empathize Christian's sociopathic tendencies.

- Vivian's situation is more complicated : she reluctantly liked the sex, and if she's attracted to Christian, tbh, she doesn't even like the guy. I think that at least she doesn't want to hurt her husband. Dk if she really loves him, bc her actions make no sense. I will see in the next update how does she think now she has all infos (Hutch knew from the get go, Christian is a liar).

I think she will come to resent huch to justify herself :

-talking about shortcomings on his work
-maybe she will resent Huctch still not touching her
- others berating

have to agree with the first part about sacrifising credibilty. the 2nd part dont think it needed to be emphasised... i mean its all in the title. even then different people different takes.

her mindset is that of thinking christian knows her husband better than her. christian has already completely changed vivian and hutch's reasoning with his manipulations. they have been getting more distant with each other since the boss got involved. and about resenting hutch... yes that seems more logical considering the sneak peaks on update 3 and from dev stating what each of the next 4 updates will be. and there might be some development with the other characters which might push vivian against hutch.

That is classic Netorare. Initial reluctance, starts to enjoy it despite herself then embraces the pleasure. JAV NTR follow this pattern all the time. If done well, it can be quite good.

I like JAV too. As I am sure you know, a lot of them do this. Some studios, like Attackers, start out where the wife is forced, but the wife eventually starts liking it. Sometimes its a wife who wants to get pregnant and starts messing around with brother-in-law, father-in-law, or someone else and it starts out as a means to have a baby, but both parties start liking it later. JAV has a lot of variations on this theme. Sometimes it is the wife getting cucked. The wife can't have a baby so she asks her mother or sister to have one for her with the husband. The two start out reluctantly, but start liking it later.

I picture it as a game (that she may not be fully aware) where she can test the limits of their relations. How far can she goes until my stupid husband act like one.
