Although everyone in my family is English and I could eat good shepherd's pie all day.
Make mash potatoes, burn some beef mince, ground beef for you USA, make a nice gravy with the mince, stick the mince in casserole dish, stick mash on top, grate some cheese on top, cook till mash browns, that is shepherd's pie.

For Beer it is a tough call Irish or German's, Whiskey is another tough one Irish or Scott's. I have to give the Aussie's second place for beer.
