There are plenty of fine beers here now. But it's a recent (post 2000) thing.what do you mean? isn't america known for its quality beer??!!
I think I've had that gum in the states or similar flavored. Here, at least, bubblegum is kinda it's own distinct very sweet vaguely fruity very pink flavor. As well as describing a type of gum that is usually better for blowing bubbles. We had bubble gum that tasted exactly like root beer when I grew up. Of course, root beer didn't exist here at that time
Wonder if it got caught up in the wormwood scares.Nope, it was already a thing apparently. Prohibition is just when they started making it non-alcoholic.
I also learned that the stuff actual root beer is traditionally made from is now verboten in the US because reasons.
This is amazing. I thought that the best beer comes from Belgium. Like Duvel, an amazing nice beer. And than they buy Bud? I remembered one sip which I spitted out. It tasted like owlpi@#. Well good luck Belgium! Enjoy truless tasteless beer.....At least you can no longer blame us for Budweiser - the Belgians bought it.

Malt beer I believe is Root Beer. My Grand use to say that.
Nah, Malt Beer is real beer unlike Root Beer
I've heard of malt liquor, but don't remember running across "malt beer" before, so looked it up. Unlike malt liquor, which is higher in alcohol content than general beer, "malt beer" has a sub-2.4% ABV and is on the sweet side since very little of the sugar has converted to alcohol - sort of an adult soft drink. Maybe the scene shows a beer with a head on it and not whipped cream, but if it starts out sweet and like a thicker version of a soda, maybe it did get creamed. It's basically just lightly fermented Root Beer. You'd have to drink 24 bottles of it to be equivalent to about 3 bottles a beer.
I've never had a root beer that tastes anything like bubblegum, and I've probably had most of the bigger commercial root beers you'll find in the US, as well as some of the more local stuff here and there. There are some "red" sodas ("Big Red" in the South), and the Scottish "Irn-Bru" that's sort of reddish-orange, that have a cotton candy/bubblegum kind of flavor to them (actually have bottle of Big Red in the fridge now ), but I've never had a root beer I thought tasted even remotely like bubble gum.Well, non alcoholic beer is also beer unlike root beer which is just bubblegum flavored soda after all
Belgian ales are some of the best I've had. Of course, when you have a bunch of monks that aren't supposed to have sex, but are allowed to drink, you figure they'd do their best to make their ales potent and tasty. This is amazing. I thought that the best beer comes from Belgium. Like Duvel, an amazing nice beer. And than they buy Bud? I remembered one sip which I spitted out. It tasted like owlpi@#. Well good luck Belgium! Enjoy truless tasteless beer.....
We had a gum called Jenka here when I was a kid that tasted like root beerI've never had a root beer tastes anything like bubblegum, and I've probably had most of the bigger commercial root beers you'll find in the US, as well as some of the more local stuff here and there. I have had root beer flavored gum, but "bubble gum" has kind of a distinct flavor that I'd never consider "root beer".We had a gum called Jenka here when I was a kid that tasted like root beer
