Granted, what caused this to happen was as simple as the solution. He wanted to introduce a niche fetish that a lot of people were (very) not into and basically threw his hands up and called it quits when the near-universal response was "I can't nut to this."
He could have dialed back the castration thing so as not to turn away more patrons. He could have doubled down and chosen to be a niche creator for a niche market. But he, instead, chose to abandon the project entirely.

I was paying literally no attention to any feedback that was happening elsewhere, but a quick scroll through this thread will show you mountains of the same "castration? NOPE!" comments for every well thought out critique of the writing and characters.
And sure, the characters are one dimensional plot devices. But they aren't "stand-out" bad when compared to tons of other games here. Hell, Perverted Education is arguably the most ridiculously popular game in this genre. It has been for years. And it spent much of those years of development with a cast of characters arguably worse than the ones depicted here.
The focus of PE is a tad different, to be fair, with much of the emphasis being on the protagonist's progressing transformation and much less so on the people driving it. So I agree that good character development is far more important for a game like this. But the shallow personality archetypes depicted are on the lower end of "good enough" for a fap fic.

If You make a game, you are not going to get an 'instant Fan base' over-night. And his choice of genre doesn't Help.

Sometimes I think/feel that F95 needs to do some "housekeeping"

Personally, I think that Patreon NEEDS to put ALOT more 'stiffer' guidelines for DEV's.
and I am not talking about their 'morality policing' policy.

Stupid, but common. Since I am a game developer I have access to the developer only subreddit and you'd be amazed at the number of threads asking "how do I increase my partreon subs?" "How much should I charge" "How much money can I make from a game?" They phrase it a myriad of ways but all carry this attitude of "how do I make a bunch of money while doing as little work as possible?"

It is Sad, really. 100 crappy DEV's ruin it for the 20-30 Good DEV's That ACTUALLY want to do Good Work.
But little or poor Trust is put in a DEV, because of the Crappy or Greedy Dev before Him or Her.

What is sadder still, This Was an AWESOME game, or had the potential to be, If the DEV wasn't such a lame ass!!
The Story and premise Was fantastic, it was a little over the top (only proves the DEV had No idea what He was talking about).The game could have done without the (threat of) castration.
The Rendering was Great, IMO. The dialog & sentence structure needed ALOT of Work.

Just curious, both the MC and his Best friend were males, right?
So, why did they look & dress like Girls, especially the best friend (was kinda Cute)?? I do not get that part.
I wonder now, if the renders were stolen from another game.

The threat of castration was fine. It's not my thing at all, and I don't enjoy castration content whatsoever, but I do think he made a mistake by not giving players the ability to opt out of the extreme content before the game starts and/or by not giving a visible warning on the choice that goes down the castration route. To me it was obvious that groping the girl while she was asleep would lead to castration, but I can just see many poor fellow's who unwittingly picked that route thinking it was harmless fun, and then had their dicks cut off. Poor lads. No wonder they were so angry.

That said I do hope the Dev picks up the game again in the future. I was enjoying the story and I liked the characters for the most part. The game just needs to have two main story branches to build off. One with the extreme fetishes, and another branch with more mild fetishes. If he can do that, then he'd have a game that placates both audiences, and might enjoy a lot of success from it.

Learning isn't really that hard, it just takes time. The reason I created my game was I wanted more cuckquean works and so I decided that if nobody else was going to do it I'd do it myself. Koikatsu is a good program because you don't need a lot of know-how about lighting and it is a lot less expensive than Daz3D. Python is an easy language to learn and Ren'Py makes it even easier with decent how-to guides.

Because the crux that the entire fetish hinges upon is the heroine, if you don't get the dominatrix right in femdom then the whole scenario falls apart. Which is essentially what happened. The author made three very attractive pieces of styrofoam and it failed to appeal to his target audience thus he got zero patreon supporters.

That is why the hook is so important. In writing you want to create a hook that is sort of a self contained story that draws in the reader and sets the tone for the rest of the story. For something like this appealing to this fetish. I would have begun the story with a hook such as the three girls are walking home from school discussing their brother arriving to move in. Then a guy walks up to them, the tall, dark, and handsome type that would make any girl swoon and tries to speak with them. Rather than hear him out the girls kick in hard in the balls causing him to collapse on the ground. The girls without caring then just step over him and keep walking, with one girl saying "I hate guys who walk up to me and start trying to talk to me, a guy should make a girl fall in love first before he tries to talk to her."
