While it's true that figuring out what to search for requires a willingness to venture beyond one's understanding, in the scenario you shared you did know which part to search for - that's why the response was a slightly condescending phrasing of where to search for it. It's the bane of every forum since the dawn of the era, but fortunately this one doesn't have so many users yet that helpful souls would stop trying to point newbies at the search (or indeed do so without considering the pleas).
TL;DR: You were wrong, he was a dick, but everyone is receptive and the system works!

As always, you only have to pledge one time for each update. If you were planning to cancel/pause your pledge at the end of this month:
Every $5+ Patron from this month (September) will get the new update per PM! (also $15+ July Patrons will get the walkthrough!) Also every $1 Patron from September will get the new v0.12 update 2 weeks after release per PM!
(Unfortunately, Patreon gives no option to choose "charge patrons per update" after a creator had choose "charge per month"...)

Until this recent spell he's been pretty consistent. Life has been keeping him busy. Understandable. Hope he updates his patreons on the progression of the next update. Would hate to see this game die.
With a thousand patrons, yeah you'd hope he's at least communicating something.
It's ok for a developer to need a break. When you're burned out you don't do your best work. Take a week off, rejuvenate, come back fresh. Fans will understand that. Just don't go silent.
Right now I'd club a baby seal on live TV for that kind of support.

Well, in this case, it's not so much a "break" as he has had the good old "real life" take precedent. But, before this update, he's been real good at both regular releases and communication.
He's still putting out random renders, he's just not been as talky.

I'm not picking on anyone or trying to sound like a dick. Tone is impossible to convey sometimes and I am only speaking personally.
But for me, my job is my precedent because without it I have no income and no other life so to speak of. When my grandfather died, I took two days off to mourn and then my ass had to get back to work because the bills don't stop coming in.
If the day ever comes I'm making games full time, then that's my job. Making games is part of my "real life" because it's what I have to do it to keep the income coming. My patrons are paying me to work, and I owe them work. Sure I'll take the occasional week off for vacation or a day off to take care of family stuff. But ultimately, my ass better be back at this desk on Monday cranking out a game because that is what patrons are paying me to do.
Again, not criticizing this Dev, that is just my perspective.
To which I'd add, if I ever did need to take a month or two off, I'd suspend my patreon campaign temporarily because it wouldn't be right me taking $4k from people each month and not doing anything to earn it.

I wasn't chastising, just trying to give you more color on his situation. He's been a very reliable dev, open and productive and has produced a fine game.
There is a general tendency in all things for people to become conditioned to expectations. When deviations occur, not everyone is able to exhibit patience or perspective. The solid performance of this dev all along merits both.

Ah. See now to me that is perfectly reasonable. If making this game isn't his full time job (a situation I can totally relate to), then yeah, he does what he can when he can. And he clearly communicated this to his patrons, so I'd say he's on the up and up.
Not that I was ever criticizing him in the first place.
Hey, I've been on this forum long enough to know how touchy some mother fuckers can get. Nothing wrong with a quick tag to cover my own ass and avoid some dick bag, who hasn't been following the conversation, from blowing up on me.
If you've been here for any length of time you know what it's like when some fuck stick reads a single post, ignores the prior conversation and just goes off on a tirade.
Plus I make it a point to always treat other Devs with respect. Professional courtesy and all.

unless you are a patron...i do not believe you have the right to beg for updates or complain..if you are a patron..you most likely contact the dev directly and are not whining here..this is a truly beautiful sweet game and patience has always been rewarded when this updates..so hush up and go play AL,DA,TOML,WTHI,TM,M,SL,PT,OF,OC,FF,ES, or DD and those will keep you well and truly busy waiting

Mostly, this is a genuinely sweet game. So far, nothing really unlikable about it and a whole, whole lot to like. Once work life settles down for Pandelo, I am certain he will be cranking on this again. All of us, paying and pirate alike, await eagerly, if not all patiently.
