It is a Satuette which is equiped in your Inventory, you must find 3 items and 3 Statues to get it I suggest you take a look into the Guide, (It's been a while when i did it and maybe i tell you wrong)
The fishing rod is at the general store. As to where to find that in the guide, it's on the last page.
Yep. Didn't see that. LoL. How do I get to the General Store? It isn't on the map, and when I explore the town, it says there is not much to see here and then it goes back to the hotel.
If you're using a save that's older than v0.9.4, your save won't have the general store on it. You'd either need a newer save or start over.
Thing is. The guide says you get the spoon from the lake. I found the spoon in the attic. I don't get that. Or was that moved in the latest update?
That is because the store is a new addition, which changed how things are done.

Between updates, no. I downloaded each update as they became available. Playing on the other hand, I didn't play from the update before last to the last one. Was playing another game.
