Yes, the I Patch (mapping file) goes into the same folder as the exe.

No, the highest resolution normally isn't 1080.

Download the .zip file and extract all of the files to a temporary folder (that you can delete later) and run the included "install_all.bat" file. Then try playing the game and see if that problem happens again.

In the long run you can get all cards. Just pick here what seems best for your playstyle/situation.

That was a hotfix which fixes a bug (soft-lock) if you go to the lake at night (before you've visited it during the day for the first time). It only affects new playthroughs.

Yeah, whatever you tell them to call you is just that, a "nickname" of sorts. It has no influence on their behavior, whether it's "daddy", "master" or "snortleturtle".
