This is bound to be subjective, so I can understand your point of view, people will have different takes on how it plays out and that's perfectly fine.

I guess I'll try to elaborate my perspective and why the current turn of events is problematic, I apologize in advance if it becomes too long. (It became long )

I also want to preface this with that the dev is OBVIOUSLY and absolutely free to make and create their story however they want to in whichever way they want to. This is simply my subjective opinion, which anyone is welcome to agree or disagree with.

That said:

------ The reason that I find the current turn of events problematic ------ (Essentially the blackmail ruins it)

This entire sequence of events was directly Ayases (and her teams) doing/fault.
Their carelessness throughout all of it, with using her best friend as bait to catch rapists, and then with her and her team not even being there when their friend/bait got taken, and three of them because they helped some old lady cross a road who gave them cookies that they just had to eat. (I get that this was intended to be funny, but really? They didn't have something more important to focus on...?)

Ayase admits later on that without the MC her best friend would've definitely been raped, and if he hadn't come back the second time she would've likely been raped aswell, atleast until her team arrived.
Despite being perfectly aware of that, Ayase still choses to immediately blackmail and threaten the MC with a false rape accusation.
And not just to keep her identity secret, but to force him to cooperate with whatever she tells him to do, and was being highly condesending while doing so, smirking and belitteling the situation while apparently enjoying demasculating the MC "You have no power here, so shut the fuck up and sit down or this will get ugly" with the goons threatening to "break his bones". (His reward for risking his life for them)...

I agree with Relv on this one. I do not like how the blackmail scenario played it.
While the story as a whole seems to have potential, the way this interaction was handled reflects badly on both the MC and Ayase's character.

Ayase jumping to conclusions about the MC attacking Waka (the best friend) was reckless but understandable under the circumstances. Ayase threatening to blackmail MC if he reveals her secret identity is a shitty thing to do to someone who saved your ass (literally and figuratively), but also understandable under the circumstances. Blackmailing MC into working for her crosses a line that makes her look like a terrible person, and her attitude only makes her seem worse. It was also completely unnecessary from a narrative perspective, considering MC could have been convinced to cooperate with the gang with the lure of info about his father's disappearance.

The MC also looks weak because of his reaction to the situation. The only protest from we get from him is one "How could you?!" and then he immediately starts simping for her. Even in his inner-monologue is all about how pretty she is and how tough she must have it as a pretty rich girl. The MC should be more resentful of his situation and looking for ways to get out from under her thumb.

In the MC's place I'd get a hidden camera like the one Ayase has and try to trick her and Waka into admitting the situation.

Some issues, but I enjoyed it and think it has a lot of potential. Looking forward to future updates.

I like Ayase and am kinda worried about her. Yea... "fantasy logic" and I'll try not to question it too much, but I'm surprised her group is still alive. They all seem naive and incompetent. They fight murders & rapists that use lethal weapons. Having them subdue enemies with blunt non-lethal weapons is just silly. If an enemy hits a member of her group once with one of those lethal weapons... game over. Hell... she would've lost both fights so far without the MC. I don't get it.

Ayase and her best friend were almost raped. I'm honestly surprised that her group played it off as a joke. I think it would have made more sense if she killed or maimed the thugs that attempted to rape them. That scene was just off. I don't think comedy meshes well with attempted rape.

The renders are good, but honestly, the story felt wrong, the mc (who by the way has this 'power' that is never mentioned/covered or explained in any way shape or form, but still uses it and successfully) evades every swipe of the blade/punch of the fists, yet still acts like a wimpy weakling who backs down when verbally confronted.

Then you have the Aya chick (the blade-wielding girlie) who upon seeing the scene, immediately assumes the worst and then after attacking unprovoked, decides that even after the mc saves her from being abused, she's then going to blackmail the mc, and of course, the mc being the weak-willed, simple-minded moron that he is, does not even comment on it or tell them to f**k off, I'm sorry but that's so far fetched that it just drags you out of the story.

Nobody in their right mind would just give into some 'self-proclaimed hero' who claims to help people and protect innocents while at the same time blackmailing someone to not only keep them quiet but also to force them to work for them, that is what I would consider totally vile and villainous behaviour. If she is meant to be a hero then that kind of action is only going to force people to hate her character completely.

I wanted to like this story because it has potential, but as it is right now, it's simply not there. Well, the story is ok, up until the alley scene, then it all goes t*ts up and loses its pace and plot.

Renders and models look great and have a nice theme and feel to them, but the whole rape-blackmail thing ruined it for me.

It's the initial release and I already strongly dislike one of the main(?) female characters and the MC - Whose spine was apparantly not included in his construction.

I wish there was a tag for wimpy/weak willed MCs, it'd really save me a lot of frustration and disappointment.

Is the ex girlfriend kaguya also a main Li? Will the game have any side Lis beside from the main girls? All Li had appeared in this update (including the two in developer's word) or there are still more? Is the game have a harem end or we finally need to choose one Li at the end?
It seems chika's outlook had changed, at least she don't have so many tattoo at the beginning of the game(Or in in-game time's future). Are we able to change it back?
When playing the scene of how mc talking about his mother cheat to his father and compare how he will build a harem on his own in the future make me laugh. If you find a puzzle to fill in the gap but think it still have something missing then all you need to do is just get more puzzles in order to solve the problem, very clever right?
What are you talking about no incest in this game at the last scene of developer's word? So the sis is not a Li?

MC rename comes next version. And yes, there are still games out there that don't allow rename. You can get around some aspects of it with URM, since that'll let you rename anyone.

As someone who almost exclusively plays harem games, I really will never understand that gripe. My name and my opinion of it is an integral part of who I am, the nicknames I receive from friends and some of the jokes I make.
Its not something that can be lightly changed without significantly weakening the characterization potential of a character. Imagine if Steins gate or Fate stay/night allowed renaming, many parts of those masterpieces would make no sense and the outcomes would be objectively weaker than the originals.

I mean shit, are y'all seriously self inserting into some heavily characterized porn characters? Shit just cheapens the main characters along with the story and makes it annoying to refer to them in conversation. I can't think of a single upside.

Yet again, someone is certain that the way they consume media is the only proper way, and no one else could possibly have a valid opinion about it. You're also making the same invalid comparison I see time and time again. Movies/TV shows/porn videos are NOT the same as a video game where you make choices for the main character. Video games inherently involve a more interactive mindset, and that means that there are a lot of people who choose to immerse in the MC of a video game they're playing, and want to customize that MC a little bit (and changing the name is an easy way to do that). It's not even necessarily self-inserting, it's closer to minor character creation. As an example of major media that does exactly this: Many of the Final Fantasy games, including games with very strong characterization (e.g. FF6 and FF7), allow renaming of some characters.

Beyond that, some people just prefer not to see certain names, and some people prefer to see certain specific names. There's at least one game where I have to change one of the LI names because it's a weird misspelling of the name that just annoys me every time I see it (Ursela, it just sounds dumb). Other times, I don't find the name at all attractive, but I don't want that to detract from the LI. In other instances, I've heard people mention that an LI shares a name with a hostile ex and they'd rather not see her name, and so on.

That the game has lewd content does not change any of the above whatsoever, particularly for people who play these games for the story rather than for the porn.

As for your "can't think of a single upside", that's a 'you' problem. In fact, there are no downsides to having the option to rename the MC. It's (usually) one extra screen for people who don't want to rename the MC, while it helps the people who do want to rename them in every scene where the MC's name is used. As for referencing the character in conversations? If you talk a lot about a given porn game that has a changeable MC name, they either use the default name or they just say "the MC". It's really that simple.
