Okay yeah I see you point of view clearer now. I kind of used your last comment as a springboard to talk generally about a few different things, but it does seem we have pretty similar lines of thinking overall. For what it worth, the main LIs in this game are like that; some have a history, but during the course of the game itself will only have eyes for the MC. Side LIs are a bit different, admittedly, as if said before in that a few will be in their own relationships in some circumstances, but I always figured people wouldn't be that pressed about side LIs, but I guess we'll see how things go in that regard.Actually, I completely agree with your idea about NPCs, LIs included, living their own lives. That's worldbuilding and character writing 101. The only area which I don't think this should factor into for LIs, is specifically to do with intimacy. I think LIs should have their own lives, during the course of a game, including every aspect of life except romantic/intimate pursuits, which should be exclusive to their interactions with the MC.
Can there be exceptions to this rule? Sort of. It would be reasonable to have a LI who is married still being intimate with her husband, up to a point. That said, I also don't think there's any real benefit in showing that or talking about it, unless one is making an NTR (or adjacent) game.
Thanks for responding and good luck with the game.
Yeah things are going pretty well all things considered. Hit a bit of a sticking point with a scene that I wasn't fully happy with, so I'm taking a break from it to work on something else. Have also done a bit more work on the prospective characters screens, but if I'm being honest I'm still not 100% sold on the feature. I'm not sure it'll be any good, really.I actually forgot about this game for a minute till I saw it in my watch threads feed. Hope all is going well with deveolopment
all good im just happy to see this thread when it does get a bit active from time to time. especially since you are a pretty active dev over here when people are talking so you always share alot of insight and your thinking into things. I haven't put a dev log up in just about three weeks, but really it's because there hasn't been a whole lot to update on, but I'm not going to leave it longer than about a month this time around without giving a proper update here and on itch, because I want to try and give more frequent updates than I did for the ch2 development cycle, as I figure even a small update on things is better than radio silence.
So yeah, within the next week or two I'll probably have a proper dev log up with previews etc. hopefully, but I don't expect it'll be anything too exciting as I'm really in that part of development where I'm just trying to grind through renders as best I can.
I figure if someone's taken the time to play the game and leave a comment they deserve a response, and so far everything feels pretty civil and the conversations, even when there's disagreement, is worth engaging in. It's not just arguing for the sake of arguing. I know that some devs end up leaving this place for various reasons, but I think there's a lot of value in reading the stuff people say here and replying to it where appropriate. Of course, the game atm is also relatively small in playerbase which probably helps in some aspect because it means that it's easier to read every comment (and also that a wider audience with potentially more divergent thoughts or opinions haven't found it yet). But if that happens then we'll just have to see how things go. But for now I feel it's right to respond where I can to people who've taken the time to write something of value.all good im just happy to see this thread when it does get a bit active from time to time. especially since you are a pretty active dev over here when people are talking so you always share alot of insight and your thinking into things. Mia if I remember it right, at the party, if you play cards right. Can you get the scene with anybody else apart of Chloe or Tegan after ass competition? Mariah perhaps?
You can bang Chloe if she wins ass competition. Try voting different. But Lauren? Never had a chance even with mod.yeah those are the only 2 I saw as well haha gonna do the same later
What i meant is about the girls from the competition. I know about Mia,but tx anyway.Mia if I remember it right, at the party, if you play cards right.
yeah I saw it after I went back. If Lauren is sister of one of the guys in frat ( I forget). You get her lewd scene by not getting anyone to send you a nude pic if I recall correctly , then you can meet with her and mention something about the challenge. You can bang Chloe if she wins ass competition. Try voting different. But Lauren? Never had a chance even with mod.
i haven't play your game yet but i think you or any devs really, should create a patreon, even if nobody patrons you. One of the thing i check before even downloading a game is check the devs patreon and see their stats. Whether it's their patreon posts or the number of patrons they have. And then i might try their game after that. wisdom of the crowd and all that.My original intention was to release ch1 to gauge interest, see if people liked what I was making, then, if the response was positive, launch a patreon with the release of ch2. For me, money isn't exactly the main reason, I'm going to finish the game regardless, but who wouldn't want to earn some money from making a game, maybe even turn it into a primary source of income? However, like you say, effort should be rewarded. Which is why I didn't launch the patreon with ch2 in the end. Because I didn't feel comfortable with taking over a year to release the first update, then start asking people to fund the project. Just didn't sit right with me. Similar to how I didn't feel justified in asking for financial support after releasing just one chapter.
I still hope to launch a patreon some day, and the plan theoretically is to launch one with the release of ch3, but that'll again only be if I feel comfortable with the idea of people financially supporting the game. That being said, I do also appreciate the people who've donated via the optional payment with the download on itch, because the game itself will always be a free download wherever so there's by no means any obligation to send money, so those who have are definitely appreciated, it's very kind.
Chapter 3 looks like there is going to be a lot of focus on asses.Hello! Just put a dev log up on itch, cross-posting it over here as usual. Nothing too exciting to say, but an update nonetheless.
It's been a little over a month since my last dev log, so I figured I was about due to give a little update on how development has been going.
I'm currently working on a pretty big scene that will take up quite a large portion of both development time as well as playtime, I'm assuming. There's a lot going on in the scene, and it realistically can be broken down into multiple subsections (different conversations and events). The render times have so far been pretty good for the scene, so I'm hoping that it's not going to take months to work through like some previous big scenes have, but we will see.
I'm still working on a few of the quality of life additions I've mentioned previously, those being the character screens and the scene gallery. I've got both more or less planned out, I just need to make sure it all works in practice, but these should both be implemented for the release of ch3. The character screens should hopefully be able to be accessed from the pause menu, and will update with information in line with decisions you make in the game to better track what you have and haven't done (particularly useful for people who want to do multiple playthroughs). The scene gallery will be accessible from the main menu; the scenes themselves will be locked and hidden (with the exception of showing a title for each scene) until you view the scene within the context of the game, so that there's no risk of the gallery spoiling what happens in the story.
Not really a whole lot else to say at the moment, I'm just steadily working through the visuals for the update. Speaking of, some chapter 3 previews have been attached below.
Thanks!

Oh, not complaining. I'm a boob man myself, but can certainly appreciate nice butts, and Teagan does have a very nice one. And I know I'll get to see just as many boobs in C3.It's not often you get a bunch of girls all together wearing bikinis, you've gotta take advantage while you can.
