The Dev definitely KNOWS they fucked up biting way more than they could chew, they don't need us freeloaders to be reminding them that updates are slowing down a lot.

While you are correct on this, it is also the case that he repeatedly broke set deadlines over the the years, which really did not help at all.
I am a hobby writer, so I know quite well how development of a story can stretch out, esp. if complicated plotlines entwine. So I never critisise development time well spent. But setting a deadline or fixed release date and then not delivering is a no go, so it is unsurprising that critic came up. Likewise in the case months spent on development but becomes clear that the update was made within a couple days, not more. (Not the case here, but in a lot of other game threads)
