It's quite clear from my post that I fully morally condemn an MC that would betray his friends like that for his selfish masochistic desires, but of course that doesn't preclude me from enjoying the porn scenes that I am into which exist on that path. Have you never jacked off to any maledom dubcom, or noncon? Have you never played a single maledom game where the male protagonist does morally reprehensible things? I actually wouldn't hold it against you if you did, just like I wouldn't hold it against anyone that they watch films or play video games where the protagonist kills people, or make any dumb assumptions about someone's character based on that, but this seems to fly a little over your head.

Is it just me or is the Kim femdom route gaslighting us into self-hatred, existential dread and deep-seated emptiness? I mean, don't get me wrong, I actually love submitting to her because it's the most humiliating hardcore femdom path in this game, and I liked all of Kim's scenes since she "started walking all over me" even more than most of the Deb and Emma femdom ones, but damn, that path sure as hell is trying to gaslight the crap out of the player for being a shitty selfish masochist in the latest update!

I suppose the fact that MC is morally an abhorrent bastard if he submits to Kim also has its upsides, such as it being more enjoyable than before to see him suffer! To a certain extent I really hope Kim will somehow manage to maintain her friendship with Emma on that path, as getting your life, and the lives of your friends, slowly ruined by Kim, combined with Emma angrily revenge-domming you and seeing you as a lesser man due to your recent actions (your betrayal of Pete and the group could feed into her misandry, eg "all men are pigs", if she finds out what MC was actually up to after he won back her trust, and Kim could pretend it was MC that made unsolicited advances towards her to get Emma on her side), has a certain... Miron-esque allure to it! (whoever played Vicious Circle Femdom Edition or Moving Down knows what I'm talking about... )

I'm confused though, I wouldn't call that gaslighting, I think of 'gaslighting' as someone trying to make you believe a false reality, but with Kim's femdom, it sounds very much like that BECOMES your reality. If it's the most humiliating hardcore femdom path in this game, this 'self-hatred, existential dread and deep-seated emptiness' sounds pretty congruent, not removed.

Good point. What I meant to say, and I think I worded it poorly there, is that the scenes are written so well it genuinely makes you feel bad for having made the horrendous choices you did so as to see Kim's femdom content - in essence, even if on that particular run you don't identify with MC at all, some of the scenes in the last chapter made me feel bad for the choices I had MC make, as if I had made them. (that scene with Jen was particularly sad - of course if I had played a "Kim only" submissive route MC would've hurt far fewer people by choosing her, but I didn't want to start more than the 3 playthroughs I've already got going , and so out of laziness on the full kim sub run I basically roleplayed a debauched and principle-less MC that would submit to all the LIs I was interested in)

Just to clarify, that was not me trying to complain about Mr. Silverlust's writing - I think it's great that he wrote vivid dramatic scenes that evoke deep feelings and get you to feel bad for his characters and regret the choices you've made in-game. It's more realistic than most porn game plots to see wide negative repercussion of your in-game actions on other people, so, if anything, I was trying to compliment his (in this case non-erotic) writing!

I'd say my response was quite warranted for "expressing an opinion" in which you're essentially saying only the dom rountes aren't "pathetic". It's a pedantic opinion that assigns moral worth to kinks, so I'm not sorry for having been harsh on you originally.

Apology accepted though - if that's what you meant, I agree an MC that fully submits to Kim (and on top of that betrays several of his female friends that he was also dating at the same time...) is objectively both an asshole and pathetic, so no hard feelings.

I have a similar problem. I did one playthrough through chapter 6 as I have described before with Jen, Lea, and Emma in dom, depraved, misog routes respectively.... and it does not feel wholesome. Now I am doing a second with a vanilla relationship with Jen (which feels much better)...being or jockeying to be dom over Kim.... being honest with Lea but continuing with her (depraved) ....and going the misgoynist route with Emma. It feels better though still artificial. I am wondering if my MC is deceiving Jen...she never asks about other exclusivity...and the relationship with he ris secret.

yeah for me Emma doesn't feel wholesome until towards the end when she starts to be a bit playful and open up more with the MC. However that is when they aren't having sex not sure if she has a vanilla path yet to try. Speaking of I still need to play the vanilla path with Jen

The annoying part of this game is that all of the female characters except for Kim are very likeable in my view. I think any unpleasantness from Emma is due to her own inner fragility.
