Yes, he posted on his patreon a few weeks ago announcing the intention to release a final chapter to wrap up the story arc in November. No other communications so far that I'm aware of, so this Itch update is news.

Update: I checked it, the most recent update is about the skill tree changes. This was already shared here two weeks ago. So, it's nothing new...

Well, this is the waited time, at last. Chapter 8 will, most likely, be ready some time in November. It'll be the last big chapter. After that, there will still be another update to act as an epilogue and wrap things up, although I'm not yet sure what format it will have or how big it will be.
