There are some female protagonist ntr games that are good. They just need to really be focused on the cheating.

Like alansya chronicles for example. Its fem protagonist but it does feel like an ntr game. However, most female protagonist games have ntr just sprinkled in by saying "yeah btw, the protagonist has a boyfriend... somewhere... yeah"
What works for Alansya, and I think Anna Exciting Affection and Laura's Lustful Secrets, are the scenes when the boyfriend or husband is there but doesn't know its their girlfriend having sex in front of them.

I agree about the female mc ntr being usually very weak (can be good corruption but rarely good ntr), but I disagree about the mc being all about angst and jealousy. NTR mystery has an oblivious mc, and yet ntr feel can be strong, mainly because the reader/player knows something is going on, so it's not exactly "identify as" the mc, it's more like a third pov who can slightly empathise with the mc by knowing that the girls are being corrupted, but is not the mc.
At least that's the case for me.
The character might not know what's going on it's not necessary for him to display certain emotions or angst it's about what feelings that game instills in you personally. Imagine playing NTR Homestay from male POV or Henteria Chronicles 2 - the characters are kind of oblivious, but the real you can clearly see the scenes in HC2 or notice some changes or suspicious things in your wife's behaviour playing NTR Homestay and you know that something must be going there cause you're playing an NTR game. Whether you identify with those chars or not the feelings that it gives you (you say emphatise) are not something funny and exciting, it is something rather dark, isn't it? And Netorare is supposed to stir these kind of feelings. That why I guess I don't personally dig 'lighhearted' or silly NTR like Indecent Wife Hanna or NTR by Clumsiness (though Hanna might be more of a sharing game than netorare, if there is any at all).

Although again I don't get when people say I don't identify with this MC guy - you clearly are put into shoes of these chars and in provided examples you run around doing quests and interacting with othes chars and making choices as Noah or you read VN that is clearly being narrated from your POV in case of NTR Homestay; the narration centers around you so when you got there on a business trip to another town you're being shown another town and hotel room etc. and there is no way of knowing what the other chars are doing (which plays well for mystery NTR) apart from some limited electronic communication.

It's easier not to identify with someone when you think about books - cause there is nobody to control or make decisions, the narrator/author is usually can be seen in a sense as some ominpotent separate being flying around and describing various characters and their actions in different parts of a book, sometimes shifting in time. Still, if you think e.g. The Count of Monte Cristo or Three Musketeers perhaps majority of people consciously or not identify themselves with clear main chars being D'Artagnan and Edmond Dantès. They say that people like superhero movies nowadays cause they identify subconsciously with the heroes and feel kind of powerful and like it.

Got an idea that people might be addicted and desensitized to shitloads of NTR games they play hence the trouble with identifying with MC - with the sheer amount of characters and stories they churn through. Anyways, I think the more you get into the story, build-up if there is any good one, and identify with cucked MC - the more impact you'll get from Netorare game or other works. Have to say that such things as manga/manhwa and maybe hentai are closer to books IMO in terms of identifying with cuck as there is usually that omnipotent author/artist POV showing you everything in their work and it's more natural to identify with/as some incorporeal neutral spectator, 'fly on the wall' so to speak. Again, maybe if people both read a lot of mangas and play games and it all kind of mixes that's the reason why they experience troubles identifying stronger with controllable chars in games or prefer not to.

Last thing with this whole identification thing - IMO in Fem POV games you sort of find yourself as far as you can get from identifying with cucked MC cause you either can see yourself as some spectator or by the virtue of my logic identify with Fem MC controlling her decisions and interactions, including her cheating, which makes for the least impactful netorare effect on you possible in terms of those darker and complex emotions. So that might be the reason why many people report that Fem POV NTR games are 'weaker' NTR wise or they like them much less than Male POV games. Again, to me Fem POV games unless your BF/GF/husband etc. gets stolen which virtually never happens (I can only recall Nanase Family Affairs where IIRC mom of Fem MC bangs her BF) aren't netorare games and I doubt they fit Netorare definitions you can find here in the first message or on VNDB.

Female MC is only not NTR if she initiates the cheating in a completely willing manner. All netorare means is to be stolen, there are no perspective or flavor requirements. So long as somebody is getting stolen from somebody, it's NTR. Even if some people think its weak, even if some people don't like it, doesn't mean it's not netorare. It's supposed to be a broad term encompassing a lot of sub-genres.

Though personally, I find it funniest when a Japanese game has NTR in the title and a bunch of weirdos climb out of the woodwork to say, "That's not NTR!", like they understand a Japanese porn term better than a Japanese person making porn.

I mean, yeah, they do? I dont have to be italian to tell a pizza from a pie. A lot of devs abuse the ntr tag so it attracts customers, although there is very little ntr about it.

Best NTR is a feeling of loss from the MCs perspective, not the relief you would feel from dodging a bullet when you find out your GF was a communal cum dump and can just forget about that hoe. lol
For me, NTR shines the most when it's ultimately like some psychosexual duel between two men over one woman. it's like a chivalrous rivalry. It feels more personal when you lose in that case, and the effect that has on you is greater. Whenever an NTR game or story has scenes of gangbang or even MMF threesomes, I start to really lose interest. One of my biggest gripes with NTR games is when male characters don't have facial features, especially eyes. It's kind of silly to think about but having facial features really does add a lot not just to the character but also to the entire feeling of NTR. It hits more when you lose your girl to a despicable prick who actually has his own emotions and motives shown on his face. I also just think it looks better than subtly forces the author to make their character interesting.

Then again I am bi and this is an admittedly homoerotic perspective on NTR lol.

I guess, for me (and many other people?), ntr is just a flavor, spice for a corruption story. And as long, as there's enough of this spice - the girl experiences the feeling of betraying, the fucker(s) recall the cuck in a mocking way, etc. - that's definitely ntr.

For example, The Student Council President Is My Sexfriend. It's written from a pov of a bull, and it's supposed to make you sympathize with him, traumatic childhood and suchlike things. But I definitely didn't associate myself with him much, and read for observing the heroine's inner turmoil.

Did I associate myself with her? Not much as well, I think.

Do you associate yourself with wood when looking at fire?

Bu there are three things you can watch forever: fire burning, water falling, and... humans getting broken.

And that's a primal gut feeling. The most important knowledge is a knowledge about humans. The true knowledge about a thing is a knowledge about the thing's destruction.

words and tags need definition beyond how you vaguely feel about them. kind of sucks that this gets brought up so often

NTR for me hits harder if the ntrd guy is actually competent but still fails. Most ntrs nowadays have the small dick instantly give up guy which just doesnt work for me atleast. Hidden NTR is great cause the thin line of the MC exposing himself to the truth or not is a good thing which isnt explored enough or explored in a somehwat goofy way. Its mostly the despair the mc feels that works so well in these scenarios. Slow NTR with hidden mechanics with an competent cast is the best for me that way. Also the Girls personality is a main attraction for NTR. Is it the slow obvlious girl that gets easily tricked or the hard cold and dominant one that gets slowly corrupted into a mellow being.

Its why Netorase sometimes is better cause both the bull and the ntrd guy cant win in the end cause both have only possess a part of why the girl likes them so both experience a form of despair/brokenness. If done right ofcourse.

speaking of female protagonists vs NTR, what do you guys think about Magical Girl Tear Sweet?

yuika has a little brother, and a senpai that is a love interest, which she actually gets to have sex with during main quest

but she is still subject to touches and sex scenes with other people

Technically not NTR, but some enjoyers can still get something out if it through self-insert on the senpai. while playing it, I did think about being jealous why yuika is doing it with other guys.

heck, during NTR drought seasons I can even self-insert on games without males, thinking they're my actual companions. remember, all of this is in our heads. make your own fantasy, and make the best of all this. it's your mind, your world.

In the end, do you guys fap because of the words tagged in game descriptions? you fap coz something in a game gave you a boner. the only difference is the discoverability which isn't perfect in the industry anyways. thats why we're here, for recommendations and things we may have missed, and things others might have missed so we share it.

that was a good excuse, I really just wanted to talk about Tear Sweet coz yuika is so cute

I've started this one, mainly because I liked the hidden footjob at the start.
It's not bad per se since mc is oblivious, but it lacks actual adventures to know the characters and get attached to them, so right now it feels more like concluding/ending chapters.
If you like adventures how about this long Isekai one.

Now that I check syosetu daily, I can't help but notice that not-NTR or netori could rake in points so quickly.
Even the badly written ones.

Seeing the talks about novels got me interested. Would anyone be able to recommend me novels with hidden sex elements or oblivious mc? I would love to see stuff like that in writing but im not sure where to start/look.

Do you guys have a list of games (NTR) with porn or in-game magazines?

I can remember Nebel, Rain Shelter Frog games, Sanctuary of Promise and Contract, Shadowcore and Kanae. If anyone knows more games with this gold trope
