They got bullied into oblivion for being a NTR game. Artstyle was unique and a breath of fresh air so my headcanon is that the NTR haters were just jealous they couldn't enjoy it. This thread was unreal back then.
Anyway the artist got hate comments on his own patreon as well so he left the team because of the heat. The rest is history.

That's not even close to what happened..
Since I was a patreon at the time I can tell, they had a team each with his own task, the artist was always ahead with his work and he was even taking care of the discord and the community alone. Thing is while he was always ahead, the rest of the team was always giving excuses and delaying their work, to the point where they said a new version would be released soon and the whole team went MIA after that. Because of all this and to take care of his personal health the artist left. After that the team announced a new artist but nothing was really done.
All of this info was revealed by the artist after he left.
tldr: The artist was trying really hard, the rest of the team wasn't.
True, I was in the discord to. Azzier was the one keeping the discord channel alive for a couple of months.

Does said artist has any new projects? Or any kind of public pages where he presents some of his work? The art in the game was awesome, and what you said about his character is awesome too.

Nonetheless, at least for me, the hate for NTR this time around was exponentially more than in any other thread.
I guess changing the game mechanics, at least twice I remember of, and try to pendering to more people (the plan for toning down NTR elements) just sucked out the motivation for them I guess. I dunno.

dude many devs get bullied thanks to NTR. currently going on from a game I won't mention but the game developer had saying there is NTR but it's optional. got bullied by the anti ntr squad, and now removed the ntr tag. I will mention 2 other devs that like NTR but got bullied oceanlab and Carbon. oceanlab summer game girl had a flashback where she was bang by her ex. also he would put special renders that you need to find would unlock NTR render. as for Carbon got bullied just for doing NTR game with love route.
