The transformations overall felt disappointing to me too. I was hoping for more stuff like breast expansion, cock growth, the girls getting turned into a monster girl or a furry, I dunno. More stuff that also kept the character's "agency" or "mind" intact while still changing them outwardly. Instead a lot of the fetish content featured is a lot more mental alterations and whatnot. I read about a succubus transformation and while it sounds great, I don't necessarily want to keep playing just for that.
Succubus transformation is earliest available via the Devil Candy in Alisha's house. They're in a treasure chest in an optional room, past a switches-and-launchpad-tiles obstacle course. I think once you've used one and thereby added the Succubus status to the journal, the Traveler starts selling Candies too. It's quite useful for actual gameplay; its spell set uses the Lust meter as a mana source rather than a limited number of charges, and the Masturbate command is available anytime out of combat so you can replenish it between fights-- or even heal ally HP (Sultry Heal) and eliminate built-up ally Lust (Edge). They can also still use conventional limited-charges magic if the character already knew them from another class. Luxatep's dress is perfect for a Succubus (Arousal status means continually regaining Lust to cast spells with!), and they can also equip the same Tattoos as Bimbos can.

Orc transformation (includes futa since all Orcs are futa in this setting) becomes available after you finish Tabnath, I think; you get a reusable scroll in your key items that inflicts the status. (I think the Mystery Dish can also have "inflict Orc" as its effect, possibly without even getting the scroll first.) Its skillset has some overlap with the three Combat characters; in fact, you can save some Elixirs on them by having them learn the overlapping skills with Orc JP instead of main-class JP.

Cow transformation might be the closest to furry, though it does also eliminate the affected character's agency. I guess this is another way to make use of the Lost Wizard.

Devil Candy is also a rare drop in the cathedral (or maybe chest, think a drop). Don't forget stuff like 200pt earrings that cause arousal, too.
For the orc scroll: you can also find one inside the forsaken tower, inside a hidden room at the library. And yes one of the mystery meal options happens to be orc. Too bad there are no special scenes at Tabnath for being an orc.

So the dev talked about adding a hard mode, but I couldn't wait. So . Move the two files to the "www > data" folder to enable. It halves the exp and gold earned from all enemies, and reduces item drop rate significantly. It also increases all enemy stats by 50%.

Another, more opinionated change, is that items that remove status effects are much more difficult to come by. They are 10 times more expensive, and their drop rates are even lower than other items. I did this because the more severe status effects are, in my experience, relatively easy to avoid once you've played the game for a bit. And even when afflicted, you're only a single, cheap-to-obtain item away from curing them. Now they should be much more valuable, hopefully making avoiding these severe status effects much more important.

I doubt the game is at all balanced this way, but there.

Also it's still untested, so let me know if anything breaks.

This might be exactly the kind of mod I’ve waited for. Game’s super hot already but piss easy, so until now it’s been a dream to have a more risky playthrough.
It should be by default game design to have your characters stuck longer in their predicaments/transformations, that’s just way hotter than always getting the easy way out. Especially the price increase is a welcome change, and oh geez does 10x sound like a hard time. x_x
Playtesting this experiment of yours right away.

Haha yeah I might have gone overboard on that one. I've been testing things a bit and it seems to work fine, except for one or two items that have the original price in some shops. Modifying the prices is easy enough, you can just search for the items in the file and change their price. It might even work best without any price changes at all. If someone doesn't want the item price changes, they can just not copy the items file to their game folder.

Okay, so here's some quick feedback due to some immediate problems.

With 50% stat increase, there's no way in hell you're defeating Jyla. Not a chance.
Should probably adjust this to 25-30% stat increase, so you actually get to whittle down her HP before she has your team all collared up in the 6 turns it takes. While I do love a good challenge, 150% stat just makes it so you don't have time to reduce a single enemy to 0 HP before they've had time to stunlock your entire team. This goes for some of the Magistrate/collar slave encounters too.

Could you perhaps also undo the gold drop change completely? 6-13g from the first set of enemies when the items curing ONE of the unavoidable statuses cost 100 times that? I sorely underestimated the RPG scaling you've tinkered with here... ^^; The item 10x item cost is fair to keep though if you can change the other enemy stat to like 25% increase and have them drop as much gold as usual. There's still the incentitive to sell off your mates to egglaying or to the Server bar...<3

Other than that this is almost a fair challenge already, I like the way the enemies' increased toughness makes me think more strategically or be punished for it, but I just don't like how easily you get stunlocked despite doing everything you can. Thank you in advance!

Alright easy enough, here are some variations:
-
-
-
-

Optional, can be used with any of the above:
-
-

That last one is a compromise, which effectively makes those items x4 more expensive to use, and avoids the issue with some of the shops selling cheaper items (which I can do nothing about) in the other option. It does not work with items that revert static transformations (scrarecrow and tree), but those I've made more expensive to compensate a bit.

I'm using the first variation combined with the second optional. It's really tough, but doable. Using the second optional also means that, as those items are no longer super expensive, you can't just sell those you don't need for a quick buck.

An update! Now the item descriptions reflect their reduced chances of working.

1.25x stat was for me just the right adjustment to make battles challenging yet not frustrating, and I’m also rolling with that spicy 1/4 chance to make things even more interesting. Thank you so much for your contribution here, it’s like a fresh breath onto the gameplay.

So I just learned that Haigure already has a mere 25% chance to be cured, before applying your mod. I certainly hope you haven’t multiplied this with another 25%? ^^

And also, wanna tell us a bit about your approach to the early game using the 1.5x mod? Like how you pass the overly long battles with only 3 members, when they get so much more easily stunlocked that way? Grinding, OP weapons, or just superior tactics?

I'm not the one you're asking, but I should probably point out that Nuan can be recruited before you leave Bordertown (offer 1500, she'll ask for 2000, and that's the exact sum of funding you start with... unless the difficulty mods removed your starting money or raised her minimum price). So you have four members before you enter any battles.

Yep, Haigure is a bitch to heal, taking on average 8 tries to do so. Nothing I can do about it, sadly. I do believe it's healed once the party member goes down, so that's one way of removing it.

Exactly, I go to that battle with 4 party members. Honestly 1.5x is not that bad, you have to flee sometimes, but overall it's very much doable. Levels certainly help, but with the added difficulty of getting through zones, it doesn't feel like grinding. Just having my team at level 3 already made me pretty much unstopable in zones nearby the start of the game.

Oh, about Haigure. I was just wondering if you had modified the 25% to be even less of a chance than that.

Yeeaahh, about Nuan... I knew she was only 2000g but I make the habit of purchasing the Scouting Goggles immediatly, and besides I didn't think only one additional party member would do much. That aside, will probably upgrade mobs to 1.5x mod once I start finding them too easy.

Hello, there's a question I would like to ask. I got the Drone equipments from Vemix's Lab, but there's not enough for the whole party. Is there any way to buy more somewhere? Thank you in advance.

Indirectly yeah, 25% from some piece of code I can't find and 25% from my changes per item (mind cleanser), for a total of 1/8 1/16 (I'm bad at math).

Don't qoute me on this but I believe there's a character trapped somewhere in the lab that sells them.

It’s from the fast travel named Phantom Express (Front) that you take a left, and find the machine that turns each into dice.

Right now you’re in the back part of the train. There’s no going left from there.

But if you don’t have the (Front) portal yet, then keep going right from where you are now, about 6-7 rooms until you reach a casino and that’s where the die machine is in the rightmost corner.
yeah i cant find the casino, gambler just tells me im boring and thats it

Dont know if this exploit is known or not, but make someone to a zombie give them to Verona (West Beach Outpost) and get them back via Cathedral book. You have her as zombie in the group and shes still by Verona . If you take her back with the tip she vanishes. Dont know if she would take another char slot if one is empty though (have all chars). Maybe this cathedral book exploit can be used for something else, will test it.

Ok I swear . Here's a breakdown:
- Half gold and exp, decreased drop rates, and x1.5 enemy stats.
- Half other sources of gold. This refers mainly to chests, and yes, your starting capital.
- Fast travel is disabled everywhere except for where there's a restoration point.

Let me explain. My first difficulty mod I find was the most appropiate, being very challenging, but mostly doable. I tried to make curing items more expensive to use by two different means, and none worked all that well, so I dropped the idea. In its place, I've halved the gold you obtain through "exploration", and left item prices and properties alone.

I've also halved the starting capital in order for the player to have a reason not to have a full team of four straight away, making the early game more challenging, maybe even requiring some grinding. I understand this might be a nuisance for some, so where you start with the full 2000 needed for the fourth party member.

The fast travel thing is the most important, I belive. Up until now, you could travel as deep as you wanted in a dungeon and always have the option to teleport to safety. Not anymore! You better know your limits.

To install any of the two options, open the ZIP file and replace the "data" folder inside "www" with the one in the ZIP. You should also be able to then use any of my previous iterations, if you want to fine tune things.

i tried your 1st one. thought it made grinding way too tedious. yet didnt really change anything else. glad to see this improvement...mind if i show this to people on the devs discord server?
