The question is, can what I have said be done or not? That the system doesn't change is very good, I respect it and I think it is great, but by itself I don't know if what I have said is included in the system.
From a programing aspect, anything can be done if you know what you are doing and the system's framework can handle it... so from a technical aspect, yes.
It is up to the creator to decide if that is something that they want to program in or not.
Personally, if the story went the way you said (which apparently isn't the case, as you also said) I honestly wouldn't play the game (there would be a slim chance if I could avoid all the LIs and not have sex scenes with them, no romance, and of course if I could avoid watching all the sex scenes that don't include the MC, that is, if I could play the game as if it weren't a porn game at all and still have a good ending)
And see herein lies the problem.
A game isn't made specifically for anyone but the creator who creates it and wishes to share it with anyone interested in playing it... or not.
This mentality of telling a creator of a game to craft their heart and soul into something YOU want is bullshit.
No offense to you personally, but why should a creator really change whatever vision they have for their game, throw away valuable resources of time and money to suddenly change their VISION so that YOU'LL play it???
This isn't a damn sandwich shop.
The process of creating a game is first to figure out the story you want to tell and then how you want to represent it, sure we might take feedback and tweak things, but when we decide to craft something we need to balance that feedback against a whole slew of things...
Can it be done?
Should it be done?
Does it change the vision of what I originally have for my game.
Will it screw up the story that I WANT to tell?
Does it make sense to add it?
How much time will it take for me to add it, if I wanted to?
How much money it will cost me, such as: buying assets, extra work in rendering or programming, will it go past the budget I intended to spend on this project and, more importantly, is it going to help my project make more money for all that time or will it just still yield the same amount? (in short:
Is doing it going to cover the cost of doing it?)
Last but not least: Is it something I really want to do?
And, finally... again, no offense to you, but why should he really care about what YOU want? Oh, so you'll play it? Why should it matter to him if you do or not?
Let's use Baldur's Gate 3 for an example... some people seriously trashed that game due to certain content that was in it... and, yet, it just won Game of the Year. Those people who screamed and shouted to the heavens that they would never play it didn't change the fact it went on to be successful and so damn successful it pretty much swept all the awards they were nominated for.
A game will sell, even if a creator decides against doing what some people want, demand or ask for.
What reason should a creator decide to do what anyone asks or demands of them... just for a few bucks to be thrown at them?
We are CREATORS not TOPLESS DANCERS!
I guess I'll possibly try it in the future, but I have other games on the list where the MC is the only one who has sex with the LIs, and I'm certainly going to prioritize them. The story is less important than it being a harem game and the MC being the only one who has sex with the LIs.
Again with the mentality that he should make a game so that YOU'LL play it.
Again, no offense, but... WHO THE FUCK CARES IF YOU PLAY IT??
That you might get around to trying it... oh please.
As I said before, if you don't play it... oh well... such is the life. Sun will still rise, the sun will still set and bullshit will still be... bullshit.
I will say to you, exactly what I tell other people about my own games...
Think of the
GAME as
MY car... I am going to drive that
GAME where I intend to drive it and people are welcome to hop aboard, enjoy the ride to where I intended to drive that
GAME to... it is
SERIOUSLY APPRECIATED if they chip in for gas while
WE are heading where
I INTEND to go... but... if at some point
THEY don't want to go the full distance,
THEY don't like the
ROUTE that I am taking or
THEY don't like how I am driving
MY GAME... well,
THEY can get out of the car and ride with someone else.
No sweat, it's all cool, take care and hope
THEY get where ever it is
THEY are looking to go...
BUT... if
THEY think you can demand
ANYTHING of me while I am driving
MY GAME, if they think they can
TREATEN me on how to drive
MY GAME, they can kindly get the fuck out of
MY CAR!
They can and may
SUGGEST that I take a different
ROUTE, that's cool... but if someone is going to
DEMAND,
BADGER or
THREATEN me to do it,
GET OUT and
GET LOST... don't need them, they aren't welcomed any longer, I will kick them to the
CURB!!
Just because someone gives gas money to help along the journey, or because they are riding in
MY car, doesn't suddenly mean that the
CAR/GAME is
THEIRS for them to start
DEMANDING ANYTHING from
ME.
I've seen what happens when other creators turned the wheel over to their passengers... it isn't pretty and I am pretty damn sure that the creator NEVER got to the destination that they originally intended!
TLDR: Play the game or not, you can decide if you want to go through the journey, your money to get to that destination is appreciated and you can choose to leave at anytime... or, if you don't like it, leave... it is as simple as that.
