I think the issue is that the game have you gather resources and also have some sex scenes.
There was a worker boss who demanded favours (which could be used instead of gathering resources) and there was some buildup of corruption.
I would like to see a slow buildup of corruption that is affecting all of the game play. Want to have vaginal at the booth? You have to be corrupted first (or become at the booth)! There should be different builds so the character can progress through the game without corruption (a clean build, by collecting resources to feed the village etc) so that it not becomes how can one become corrupt the fastest.
This slow corruption should be a big part of the game play, and not just gather resources. Or, perhaps, to try to stay away from corruption. the daily grind, the slow corruption, and perhaps remain presentable in front of the friend and other characters, while feeding the village, should be the driving components.
An neat idea: make it a deck-building game through and through.

Your "deck" represents your willingness to do stuff. Some stuff are in the back of your mind, but you don't act on them by choosing not to play certain cards that wouldn't go with how you want to play your character

Corruption points give you cards with effects that synergise with porn actions, but that corrupt you the more you use them and reduce the "purity" stat (having 2 stats, corruption/purity, instead of a binary system allows for more variety and better game balance in card power-levels).
And as you progress, it becomes harder and harder to avoid playing corruption cards because your deck will be filled with them so you have to find ways to remove them from your deck as you progress through the game.
This way there's variety in deck-building for people that don't want corruption paths, but they can still do corruption actions once in a while if it fits in their decks.


Basically: Slay the Spire gameplay with porn scenes instead of monster fighting

That takes a massive amount of time to design, balance and implement.
It's just fun to brainstorm ideas (and also, I love card games, so I want them everywhere :giggle: )
However, I truly believe that too few indi-devs realise the potential of card-based gameplay for their games.

You can do everything with cards ! And this type of development choice allows for a far better scalibility to small teams

There is so much to experiment with when it comes to porn games ! Like the whole Battle Fuck RPG genre (which is basically a sub-genre of JRPG where your attacks are sex actions).
People give HuniePop a lot of flak for "just being Bejeweled with porn", but the way they frame it and use the premise to reinforce the porn aspect is nothing short of genius even if the concept wasn't new at the time, they polished it and turned it into a complete experience.
I never understood this "criticism"... It's like saying Slay the Spire is "just Dominion with monsters", I mean... yeah ?... People take ideas and build on them, that's how we progress towards more complex ideas

That is a really nice idea (and visual!). Really interesting that one should be able to remove the corruption as well. I have to check out that card game :).

You can just right click on the image link on the forum and select open image in new tab (chrome at least, but other browsers should have a similar option.)

This one looks good but I'm waiting for a fresh update before I try it out, how long is it reasonable to assume the next update will take?
Fresh update already ~3 months in status "will be ready in few days, next week at worst", so it easilly can take few months more.
I think this project will be abandoned next year.

It will either be abandoned at early stages like it is now, or somehow get abandoned right before entering v1.0. Such is the life of the ero game development cycle.

Progress Report (v0.2.5)

Hello everyone! So like I said some time ago I've been back at working on the update.

Before I say what I've been doing, I want to also state that I'm using this time to commission stuff that I will require as we go on, for example next commission is going to be Sandra, so I can possibly implement her bust on v0.2.6. Sandra is a huge thing, as it is the second "main" character of the game, and she will have a lot of her own scenes as well as shared scenes with Debbie. Also, my progress is being explained almost daily on my discord on a private channel for tiers 2 & 3.

So! I've been busy writing scenes for the milk stall - that's a given - but I have also been studying a great deal about how to do certain stuff with JS. I cannot implement those in this update since they will require some time, but be prepared for a huge overhaul. What I'd want, is to release this update, and then do the overhaul + Sandra.

  • Sandra

By the way, according to the latest votes Sandra will be blonde with pigtails, light freckles on her nose area, wearing glasses, and having a spoilt attitude - since Mr Jefferson's story will be that he's the mayor and used to have power in the village (but doesn't anymore). He will regain power the more you restore it. Sandra's attitude will be something like trying to keep her father's legacy alive, by telling the villagers what they should or shouldn't do, something which pesters them.

  • Some Ideas

Another thing that I want to change in the future is implementing the villagers' inner thoughts. My main idea is that Debbie will be oblivious to their thoughts, however I have thought of the possibility of using Supafrinz to hear them. That would make for cool scenes - even if it's done automatically.

I'm also thinking of slightly altering the rule of "0 h with the milkables when they know it's her". I thought that at some point, one of them could be so edged and horny and Debbie having a high relationship score with his cock, that she will want to relieve him right there as a "one-time-only" / "I'm doing you a favor cause I like you" thing. Maybe, we'll see.

  • Experimentation

Now, as you know, when I'm working on an update, I don't just work on that update. So when I said some time ago that it's almost finished - the update was, indeed, almost done (it still is). However, I also experiment with features, to see how I can do certain stuff more efficiently. So for whom it may concern, this is what takes the most time: Writing a scene and posting an image is not as time-consuming as experimentation, but experimentation is, quite. And though I am happy with the result *so far*, that's not the end-result I would want. So I spend a lot of time studying and experimenting and trying new things to see what I can use or refine. (Just as an example, I added in a modded clothing system on this update, which obviously wasn't in my plans at all. That took studying and experimentation.)

  • Overhaul

I'm really excited about these.

-> First of all I will remake the popup system. This will allow for much more versatile popups, including popup cutins. Why? Aside from having Debbie's thoughts appear next to her instead of in the log, and aside from having people checking her out, without calling an event, also read "cards popups".

-> New window-skin. The current skin is bland - I have found better ones. I actually might implement this on v0.2.5.

-> Governed by objects: So I've found a way to write new game objects with as many properties of properties of properties as I want, and call them/alter them at any point. This is similar to what I've been saying about the SCGO, GIO and Shuttle objects, but right now I'm talking about something more advanced which leads me to my next point:

-> Cards object. Yep. If anyone has seen my code concerning the cards properties will know, it's pretty amateur. So this time, I know how to make it far better. This object will allow me to make cards do WHATEVER I want them to, and add new cards on a whim. I have begun writing the code for them, but I delved too much into it and I thought it's best to leave it for later.

-> Cards popups. So, many of you had told me that it's pretty dull when u select a card but you don't really see it. Well, in the overhaul, I'm planning to do just that. when selecting a card - before u press ok - a card-like popup will rise showing you the card, its type, its effects, everything, as if you're playing a card game. This, in conjuction with the previous point, can allow for anything to happen.

-> Separate the intro from the game: This tires me as well when playtesting the game. It will allow skipping the intro up to the point where you have finished the first gloryhole minigame.

-> Separate scenes from the main map: This will not only allow for a better handling of scenes, but also for a recollection room which many of you have asked for.

  • Final notes

This has been a rocky path, and I'm finally seeing "light at the end of the tunnel", so it's all been for the best in my opinion. I want to dish this update out as soon as I can to start working on the overhaul. I really believe that, once I'm done with it, it will be a whole new experience. So yeah, I'm excited!

PS: I completely forgot!!!
I also made a feature where all images are shown at the same time. This is still a bit glitchy but it's far better than what it used to be. Basically what it does is load the images it's going to use, but treat them as if they're still loading until the last one finishes loading. Again, this is not exactly perfect, but it solves a lot of problems.

That's the curse of making a systems based game. You can't just "grind out" work like you can with HTML game #20348540 or "rpgmaker game that really should have been a VN #6829494."

im pretty sure you can make any game you want with HTML5, although im not aware of any good engines so you don't have to build everything yourself from scratch.
also in-browser there's always webassembly which allows you to pretty much build any game with good performance within the browser itself. (for example krunker runs with webassembly and it performs great)

going back and retroactively fixing already done stuff is often more work than adding new stuff. this is because you need to do that for every already existing system, and why devs tend to avoid bothering to do so.

I like how in a way u were just proven wrong, and now u changed it to saying the next update is gonna be small. Dude, just do yourself favor and give a huge pass on the game. U have no faith for the dev whatsoever lol.

You not wrong, but it can't keep players interested. More over, new players will not notice any changes at all, because they didn't see previous versions. This game is promising, but clearly have lack of content, and this is what should be fixed first, not the existed mechanics, sprites, animations or something else.

You mean my assumption about game being abandoned next year? We will see it next year, why u so stupid, but offensive? I didn't change anything, and not gonna try. If this game will hit massive success - I will be only glad to be wrong. But it not looks like it. Judging by the developing pace of last year - it will take at least 10 years to be complete game. I'm not trying to say dev is bad or lazy(as I know he making this game solo, except of drawnings, so maybe it's just immposible to him to deliver more content), I'm just extrapolating this year and don't believe in a bright future for this game.
First demo released november 2020, it was version 0.2 if I remember right. Let's be honest: do you think this game noticable changed since?
