I can relate to the OP. I finished this game, but by skipping a lot of dialogues, since they could be very cringeworthy at times. It's loads of anime reference and whatnot throughout the whole thing. I had to tune out of Eternum for the same reason, despite how much people praise it. Different tastes, of course. There are merits to this game.
I would recommend Unbroken if you're interested in a game that takes its writing a bit more seriously. It aims to be more grounded as well, as grounded as this medium can allow a story to be, of course.

WHAaaaat? 
A little by chance and out of curiosity, we (yes we are: Brout and Minou) wanted to try this game, but without too much conviction or enthusiasm, and even a certain skepticism. The first 5 minutes of the game shows us a Mc, student in high school living with his mother and his two sisters.... It starts well we said to ourselves. Again and 18-year-old kid who will corrupt his little family with methods seen thousands of times; pills, alcohol, blackmail... And finally no, not at all, at least, the game does not carry all its weight on how the Mc will corrupt his bitchy big sister, his nice little sister, and his too naive mother.
We've read a lot of reviews about this game, good and bad, but we never rely on the game's reading and ratings. We always prefer to form our own opinion, and we're extremely glad we took the time to try this awesome game. The characters are written in a somewhat superficial way, and I think that's on purpose! Just as this whole story is written with lightness, but great finesse. Here, the goal is not to drag us into some family drama, or into some heavy and dark conspiracy, no. I think the goal here was to create an entertaining story with a lot of humor and a good dose of sex, and I think it's perfectly successful. Well-written dialogue that doesn't make your eyes bleed, imaged by the characters' facial expressions in some really hilarious situations, and if the renders seem a little outdated (although you can notice a nice improvement as you progress through the different episodes) the girls are really sexy, fun like the rest of the characters by the way. Iris who is an electric battery on legs made us laugh a lot, Fat\fit Jack with this girl who harasses him, Tom who becomes the Mc's personal fly killer, Oliver! Ahh Oliver... Poor boy, but what a laugh with this one, and I won't name them all but all the others of course. The whole staging is based on a burlesque tale with hilarious interactions and a main plot that keeps its commitment despite everything. The Mc crosses paths with many weird and funny characters at the same time, who lead us through adventures full of twists and turns.
So, for that, we both thank you from the bottom of our hearts Caribdis! We went from skeptics to completely addicted in 10 minutes of play, and we really couldn't get away from your game until the end, in short we had a great time, an genuine and pure moment of happiness.
In a way, the work you did reminds me of mine. I'm a photographer, and while my job is to record images on a memory card or camera roll, my passion is to transcend those images through my lenses by showing what's important. When I work with female models, it's not very difficult to capture their beauty because they know how to show off, but when I photograph a person in the street or elsewhere, that's when the real work begins and the passion for what I do takes on its full importance. A gesture, an expression, a look at a very specific moment can sometimes tell part of their story and show their personality.

I finally finished this game today. I had dropped it over a year ago because I wasn't paying attention and lost the path for both Judie and Lauren. But I made it all the way through this time. What a fantastic game! I'd love to see a sequel. Am I correct in thinking it's impossible to get full points for all girls who have them?
Yes, but this doesn't keep you from reaching the perfect harem ending. There are margins.
I finished the game now and man.. I literally can't explain how i really feel with this game because since the beginning of the story i played with my heart and i loved every minute i put it playing it and fuck that final fight was awesome, i really started feel bad and tearing up a little when
(i'm putting the spoiler because if there people that didn't played yet can enjoy the game to the fullest, and yeah i thought that really was going to happen), but to finish what i wanted to say without delay this game is perfect in my opinion(i made the harem final) you can laugh till the end and... FUCK i don't know what else to say and that's it.(oh i don't know if i used the spoiler tag right, sorry if not and you that have not played yet took this bomb)

Mike won't die. If you see Mike die it's because you didn't finish the game or you missed something. If you follow the walkthrough correctly you will see Mike before going with the main character wearing a cross necklace (given by his "wife")-> that chain will take Mike's bullets and he points fainted from blood loss.

Since I consider Caribdis' works more novels than games, I am used to strictly follow the official WTs. This is the reason I missed Lauren's unhappy event during the Japan trip. I suggest to give a look at the alternate path, could be interesting.
To be fair, even without a Walkthrough you would not pick the respective choice which leads to the "unhappy event".
Ok the first time I played this game it was on pc and I used the walkthrough mod and I was able to have the complete harem route, I'm on my phone now and I wasn't able to get Judie and Lauren why the fuck not!!! Every choice I made for them gave points

Loved the game, still, would have been nice to see some more threesome or more scenes. No Carla scene with her daughters...sad.
