I think your guess is correct, BUT this also answers a question I've been wondering about for a while now (and I'm sure others have talked about it since I've never had an original thought). Namely, how the hell does someone with long, gorgeous purple hair maintain a secret identity?

Because my money is on Chokehold. I like Steel and everything, and frankly Chokehold seems to be a bit of a dick, but yeah... I don't see that going well for Ruth.

I bet on Ruth wining out of sheer spite and anger after a initial setback on the fight. :cool:

Plus Ruth mentions she's fought others with Chokeholds power before and won. Chokehold is supposedly immovable, which would give her a big advantage against MMA type fighters who use a lot of takedowns and grapples. It wouldn't help if you get punched in the face hard enough to knock you out, which we know Ruth is very capable of doing.

Still possible she loses though obviously, it'd be a character building moment for her if so.

Another possible outcome that'd lead to some character growth is if Ruth accidentally kills Chokehold on a live broadcast. Punch a bit too hard and POP goes Chokeholds melon.

Not going to lie it would be funny if Ruth were going to: "opsie seems i hit her too hard". :ROFLMAO:

But considering all the spectacle behind this fight i doubt they would allow it if Ruth and Chokehold were not in a similar powerlevel.

Totally, but it's also Hero 101, I think. If you (the hero, that is) are overconfident or fight without a purpose, you'll lose so you can learn and after completing the "path of the hero" you'll have a second chance. It's everywhere, from hard action like The Dark Knight Rises to familiar movies like Puss in Boots 2. It's textbook.
Plus, this is pretty much Rocky III all over again, you know, "You ain't been hungry since you won that belt" and all that. I can totally see Jack like Apollo coaching Ruth to get back the Eye of the tiger.

Yeah I don't want her to lose because its too on the nose, but I fully expect it for the standard character plot reasons.

While i admit the elements are there the developer has been skilled in avoiding putting too many obvious tropes in the story.
Even Evelyn being a voyeur/cuckqueen to enable Jack's dalliances or "harem route" became a actual plot point, with Jack worried about her behaviour and goingas far as to consult Ruth about it.

So yeah, Ruth losing to get a Rocky Balboa sequence may happen but i also wouldn't be surprised if the dev simply avoid such trope.:unsure:

Yeah, though you could get the Rocky sequence and a less obvious plot. If you also show Ruth psyching herself up and getting a better grasp of her power (with Jack's help) by facing her fears alongside the physical training...
Who knows then, the beach scene could end up with Jack getting superstrength.

And what if you opted for a route like "Safe", "Hard Target 2" or "Road House 2024" instead?
The opponent is more resilient than she expects and Ruth ends up killing her in the ring.
