The skin of the blonde girl in the banner looks very realistic, very high quality :PogChamp:, the only thing that betrays that it is not a real photograph are the eyes, the mirror of the soul.

And the short, white-haired character with the choker, I've seen her in another game :ROFLMAO:.

I'll have to read the synopsis, I'm at a stage where I'm more interested in the stories than in the lewd.

If you chose to see this as an attack sure, you do you. I get it with the assholes on this site.

Still seems a lot of work for very little gain, but if you're happy so be it.
I didn’t see that as an attack — to me, it felt more like a comment. I just responded naturally and tried to choose my words carefully to avoid sounding arrogant, haha.

I’ve been trying to do a good job. Over the past few months, my patrons had to apply five update patches. They’ve had to deal with slow file-hosting sites, extract files, and move them into the game folder. So, I thought — why not make things easier for them?

On top of that, I can still provide a direct download link for those who don’t want to use the launcher. So, there are multiple options available.

As I said, sometimes we can just be grateful and think, “Wow, that’s cool that this exists!” Asking, “What motivated you to create this?” would come across much better, right? Haha.

I’m not really proud of the first renders of the game, haha, but we’re already taking care of that. From a certain point onward though — wow — they look amazing!

I hope you’ll give Our Home a chance. It doesn’t have many obscene scenes, but there are some nice close-ups and a backstory that I hope will catch your interest!

Apparently I can't type on this site without sounding like a massive cunt and I didn't want you to feel like you have to "justify" your decision. It was idle professional curiosity on my part, nothing more.

My thought was: Why do this when you could work on an update instead? Time management is probably the most important thing in your position, so what am I overlooking here.

I get the need to do a good job, I really do, but often more is less. KISS is one of the most important design philosophies and seems to me that by trying to do all you can, you did a little to much in some areas, like the menu.

To end on a positive note: The intro sequence of the game looked really cool, some of the best stuff I've seen on this site.

game is fucking shit impossible to play this fucking garbage if you make a vn mode make fucking sure its strictly vn no fucking moving around at all by us not this fucking shit you made fucking retard also the mansion is impossible to progress in vn mode after the maid spills the pot of water fucking dumbass
Hey, you just need to grab the medical kit in the norah room. The VN mode doesn’t mean you won’t have to do a few point-and-click actions.

In those point-and-click moments, you can discover secret scenes and other Easter eggs. They’re only present in a few parts of the game, so don’t worry too much about it!
Chess ☺

I’m very familiar with these methodologies, haha. I’ve been working in software development for about 15 years. Like you, I’m a web dev — KISS, DRY, and all the rest, haha. I often find myself questioning whether what I’m doing is truly necessary. Most of my technical decisions go hand in hand with the game’s development, usually taking baby steps.

As for time management, I think we’ve found a balance — though we slip up now and then. It’s just the two of us working directly on the development process — my wife and I. We’ve been releasing monthly updates for two years now, with a tight budget, though it’s been improving little by little.

Because of that, most of these developments take a lot of time to be completed since our priority is always delivering new content. The launcher, for example, took almost a year to develop because it simply wasn’t a priority.

Since the last public version, we’ve completed around 1,600 renders, and we’ll probably surpass the previous release. So, these side developments haven’t impacted our core work. We’ve kept things moving at a steady pace!

Serves me right for opening my mouth, you have 3 times my experience.

Good luck with the game.

A boy who grew up in an orphanage, with the things that happen there. He knows his mother is dead, but I think he wants to know the whereabouts of his father, who ran away .

I forgot to ask one thing. Normally most devs who have both accounts have the uncensored version on SS and the censored version on Patreon. However, from the synopsis, I assume the two versions are the same here?

Both versions are the same. SS is just an alternative for people who have trouble subscribing to Patreon.

The rest… you’ll need to follow the story to figure out what happened.

I didn’t realize I needed to explain or justify why I created an optional feature, haha. But sometimes I feel like people struggle to just be grateful that something exists, right? I could give a short answer like, “I know what I’m doing, so I did it.”

The thing is, Our Home is an indie game, but it’s also a product. And as a developer, I need to keep adding value to my work. My monthly update schedule means supporters are constantly downloading new versions and dealing with patches, which can get exhausting. This feature was designed to make things easier for them.

And yes, I chose to make it public. It’s not some random blotware — it’s a tool made specifically for Our Home. It’s simple, it’s useful, and if paying patrons are finding value in it, that’s more than enough reason for it to exist.
I'm just glad it's optional. People see 'Launcher' for a game and get hit with ptsd. Origin/EA App, Uplay, Bnet, Steam, GOG Galaxy, Epic, Bethesda. Just gets to be too much. So yeah, people get trigger happy when they see launchers for VNs now lol.

We won’t go that far, haha. It’s meant to be simple and will always remain optional.
What I can say is — people are using it.
