No, I even said that I'm totally fine with her being a hypocrite in that regard because it makes her interesting and realistic in my prior post. I want the option for Ian call her out on her hypocrisy, which we don't get no matter whether Ian has been 100% loyal to her the entire time, and if we've shaped Ian's personality to be someone who doesn't take shit like that.

The reason is pretty obvious. That kind of disagreement can only lead to them eventually breaking it off. Which can't happen at this point, since their relationship is the core driving plot of the game.

I get why people might get frustrated when a MC doesn't act exactly the way they want them to when playing one of these games. But even full blown AAA rpgs have trouble tailoring characters exactly to player choice. And this is just a porn VN. It's one of the best choice-based ones out there but it's still a VN. The characters you are playing will always be Eva's characters not "yours".

IMPORTANT: The Ren'py update messed quite some things up code-wise, and some of my testers reported that the game doesn't find the save files in the same folder it used to look for them. You might not experience this issue, but if you find your saves missing try this fix: your previous save-files need to be manually copied from "AppData\Roaming\RenPy\RedString-1574621830" folder to the internal "games\saves" folder. We'll try to look for a solution to this for the Beta.
The Alpha for Chapter 8 is finally here. Sorry for the silence this week, I wanted to post some sneak peeks and stuff but I have been 100% focused on finishing everything and I did, at the last minute, as always! I must confess I have mixed feeling about this update, it took longer than expected despite me working really hard on it, and it's proven to be personally frustrating. These past three weeks have been crazy, but I can say it's finally finished. I hope I did a good job this time too!
The chapter is titles "Falling into Place" and, as I said, I feel it makes some much needed story progression so events can keep unfolding. It probably has a slower pace than the bombastic chapter 7, but I think it has a few of the hottest scenes so far and also some of my favourite art to this date. The writing has been quite challenging, and character interactions and dialogue variations are really deep and complex, probably more than they need to be, but I guess it's the only way I know how to make things, trying to reflect all the possible choices you've been making during the game and how that impacts relationships. Some of those consequences will show strongly in this chapter.
Anyway, I'll just shut up and let you play this update. Many, many thanks to the MVPs: Bloody Mares, Lara and Breadloaf, with their help with coding, features, bug-fixes and quality control, and to vBerlichingen for his proofreading (it's not yet finished, by the way).
I hope you like this new chapter and that the wait was worth it. Please let me know what you think about it!

But Lena breaks it off anyway, she says she's done with him now in my game when talking to Ivy, and Ivy even said Lena was overreacting. At the end of the day, it's a minor gripe and we can agree to disagree but I still really enjoyed the episode in spite of it. I think it's a small thing for Ian to call her out, and it would be nice option to have and a lot of people share my sentiment.

No-one cares that Lena is fucking multiple men. They're saying that she's a hypocrite for getting mad at Ian for fucking or just KISSING Holly in a situation where she can be fucking multiple dudes behind Ian's back. It's the hypocrisy, not about her being a slut.

she was not mad on ian earlier for fucking other girls. being mad on him for fucking holly is just because sex for ian and her is game, they can separate sex with others from actual feelings they have between themselves. but holly is sensible soul in love with ian and would probably get hurt when realizes that it was sex only, no datings, holding hands, walking parks and other bs... lena as girl understands that, ian not. plus lena becomes friend with holly, teaching her about life and acting protective (+ she might even have some feelings for holly too) and that's bothering her, not ian fucking another girl.
so hypocrisy definitely cannot be attributed to lena (maybe only a little bit of jelousy).
same goes for ian when he realized she was fucking robert. he did not complain she is having sex with robert because of jelousy or being hypocrite, but mainly because he thinks robert is not good person who attacked his cheap-shit asshole friend

Yes Lena is overreacting, but she eventually will go back to Ian or Axel in future chapter.

Well that depends on whether you think having an emotional connection makes it better or worse. In my eyes, it's the same, so Ian/Holly is the same as Lena/Robert. The difference is that when Ian cheats with his and Lena's mutual friend, Holly, he will immediately come clean to Lena but when the shoe is on the other foot and Lena has sexual encounters with their mutual friend, Jeremy, she wants to keep it a secret from Ian, even if she says she is falling in love with him.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against any of these things. I think it makes for cool drama and interesting storylines. I am just saying it would be nice if we had an option for Ian to stand up for himself.

She says she can still be friends but romantically, there's nothing now. My only issue is that Ian lacks autonomy in that scenario. If EvaKiss wants to write him that way, then that's fine, but the game would only be better by providing Ian an option to stand up for himself. In my game, he put his own job on the line to stand up to Minerva, which means he could lose his only source of income, so it's not out of character for him to do so.

Ian has no problem getting pussy, like Lena has nor problem getting dick. Issue is that Ian has 6 options but can only choose 2, while Lena has 6 options and can choose all 6. And then at the end be a hypocrite that Ian cannot be trusted because hes sleeping around with her friend Holly (just like she is sleeping with Ian's friend Jeremy).
Lena also seems to have a lot of power influencing the story of Ian. Ian has a hookup with Alison? Drop points. Ian hangs out with Holly? Drop points. Ian fights off Robert because he initiates a fight? Drop points. Ian tells Jeremy about Lena? Drop points. Ian tells Perry about Lena? Fuck you, dropped points. Her character deteriorates every update. On the other hand, Lena makes a Stalkfap accout? Ian forgives her. Lena uploads slutty selfies on instagram? Ian forgives her. Lena sleeps around with Robert? Ian forgives her. The character are simply not balanced enough.

I absolutely agree with every single word written here.

If they are going for a serious relationship then fair enough, however if Lena is busy slutting it up and is just banging Ian every now and then there should be no points drop unless Ian actively lies about it

won't get you wrong, obviously we are on same page about things, just interpreting charachters feelings little bit different. however still didn't play 08. i need to transfer saves from old notebook. but if she dumped him it is little bit too much, though as i wrote and explain i like to think that i can understand female thinking at least little bit (about 2-3%...) and why would she react that way

It's... not the same situation? So everyone keeps talking about double standards with Lena, but Lena only broke it off with Ian because it's HOLLY. She was fine when Ian was hooking up with Allison and others, but Holly is an issue because Lena is friends with Holly, and Lena knows Holly is crushing hard on Ian.

In the path where Lena and Ian are not in love but were just hooking up, Lena breaks it off more amicably because she doesn't want to make things weird for Holly.

Also, I'm really shocked by how many people are getting angry at Lena for doing things the player makes them do. "Lena sluts around and sleeps with Robert and Mike and Jeremy!" ... But that only happens if you pick those options.

My issue is that Lena doesn’t even think about it, to herself, nor is the player given the option to forgive Ian.

Obviously these are player choices lol. But causing drama is part of the fun.
