where a group of retard (i mean friends) go somewhere isolated and there is a serial killer there and they died because the best idea in their mind is to fight each others and separate in group of 2 (because they always are multiples couples, but we all know at the end, only the hero and her girl will survive as always...)

if dev doesnt have powerful pc, its pain in the ass to counter the grain. ( at last for me, its pain in ass)

only technic to counter that is to render the chars separatly from the background. not as "sprite", but as seperate part that you copy-paste later on the background to make a "normal" render.
but doing that is risky, because lighting can be completly off sometime.

soo yeah... its not easy without strong pc.

but if dev volontary do that for give, like you say, a kind of movie effect. then better use some photoshop filter or something imho.
