That's actually a great point, still that's kinda true for every sexual action Edwin does at the club right? So the white path Edwin wouldn't partake in any sexual thing that the club offer including during the exhibitions, he would always let Ian handle that part, and maybe that's possible?
Still I really don't like binary morality systems, they too strict, I can see a good person Edwin fall for the lust in the orgy for any of the 2 girls without thinking about the consequences or ramifications it will bring in the future.
Still I appreciate your and Turrets points, just not fully agree in this case.

Doing a run like you propose experimentally is aiming for sainthood or the "lilywhite" path. The game is not so strict, at least it seems not so strict. For instance, the possible "naughty" encounter with Andrea is under different conditions and will not destroy your chances for a "white" run, even less for a "grey" one.

I'm curious too. Allison was very fun, but for my "Canon" run I chose Sophia, giving it to her seemed like overcoming a challenge and probably more rewarding in solving /influencing the intrigue within the club.

That being said, I bet biblically meeting either one will open up dialogues and/or scenes with one or the other (or both!) whilst in the exhibition.

I hope so too. And given the fact that there is an exclusivity of path between the two, I predict special scenes, dialog and choices for both Allison and Sophia during part 2, even with the focus on the Carnations there.
I also theorise a change of focus on Edwin´s path depending on what he did (or not) during the orgy. Since chosing Alli is accepting the club fully, it probably goes towards selfishness, more exploitation and special sex scenes (not only with Alii) available, closer connections with Kath and Chuck too, looser with Hana and August.
Chosing Sophia will probably also have some exclusive sex scenes, but I think the look behind the scenes and the real extend of the Chuck-Abel feud will be deeper and clearer. Closer connections with Abel, Sophia, tentatively Hana and August (who both are not happy with what is going on) too.
Chosing to do nothing during the orgy will probably bring more focus on the Carnations (and Hana). You´ll be probably more a bystander in the Chuck-Abel feud than when you choose Alli or Sophia.

I think you are giving more importance to this choice than TD ever considered
Choosing one over the other will probably open or close scenes that I agree, but neither lead to a different path, I mean choosing Allison doesn't mean you have to side with Kathleen or the other way around.
I think you focusing too much on your light dark grey thing, when I think this game is various shades of grey, the only light path possible would be to reject the Job at the club and the game would end
What I mean is I really doubt if there's as much emphasis on who to fuck in the orgy for the narrative of the game and even less to a potential ending, I think there will be consequences and ramifications as most things have in this game, but don't see this choice as powerful as you seem to be implying.
I'm ok to be surprised by TD and be proven wrong in the future though

Agreed. Even though it'd be fascinating to see even more important ramifications from the seemingly frivolous orgy choice, I bet it'd be too painful to code and also maybe just "too much" replay value? I'm already missing 1 or 2 scenes per update!

Agree 100% there's also the dev time it would put on TD and GIL for scenes that lots of players won't see, I mean this game already has a lot of it and I'm thankful for it, but the headache to code, create more image variations, the dev time that is already inevitably getting longer will make some ramifications very hard or even impossible.

Well, that could be the case, sure, but given the great story so far, it is natural for us fans to discuss!
And it might sound a bit larger than I meant it due to me being a non-native English speaker. The choice during the orgy will not close off all possible paths completely, but it surely will make walking some paths easier, others more difficult and in in extreme cases close off.
Our resident code gurus said that the new update is full of flags like during a parade. Going by that info, I estimated that some "lesser" seeming choices will quite have impact. And the orgy is one of those. You get the options of Alli and Sophia only if your earlier choices align towards them. e.g. Being a chummer to Elias can negate the Allison option (this also hints towards Allison being brought in by Kath to haywire relations between Elias, Feli, Edwin, Hana), Sophia will only come to talk if she likes you. you already made some choices which shape your path.
Going for Alli will surely make all paths with Kath and Chuck as your buddies easier, going for Sophia will make paths opposing Kath and Chuck easier to take.

It's not like they are forbidden to change or add details once they've made it to the finish line. Rose's first encounter with Edwin got changed as well in the last update. Some even more critical scenes are getting reworked as we speak.

I know where you´re coming from. But I estimate that this strong goodbye is more to stress their new connection (she is also gripping our hero with her hand), with Sophia normally being so cool, stand-offish and calculating. In addition Sophia knows more about the going-ons behind the scenes, so she has a good assumption of how bad the exhibition and following week will be. Also we know by word of God that Sophia is the most important not-Main LI going forward.

I agree with you on this, both are needed elsewhere, Sophia with Abel and Edwin has to lead Elias to his doom. I too see this emphatic goodbye as a facet of Sophia´s personality, who has problems with social stuff due to her eccentrism and how she grew up. Given her problems with social cues it seems to me she wanted to make sure Edwin gets her feelings. She also touches him when she is saying goodbye.
