The rework was tested with the time we had, ensuring the obvious game breaking bugs were dealt with. It is incomplete and we did expect some bugs, but it will continue to be worked on.
There is of course, nothing wrong with regular updates. My primary concern was whether you had an actual vision for the combat system, and not just making it up as you go along, with reworks of reworks of reworks... It's really not an uncommon pattern for games here.
Given this update took over 4 months, I was not prepared to make our current supporters wait any longer for a system we could, and will, refine as we go leading up to the steam early access release.
So when do you realistically see the game finished? At this rate I imagine no sooner than 3-4 years.

Playing through from the beginning right now.

First note: Being able to miss against enemies ups the RNG factor by a lot. It's going to require balancing, trying to farm Demorai 2v4 is eating through the potions faster than you can buy them, especially since your chances of missing attacks against the level 3 scout are massive. No joke, I had chains of 7-8 misses in a row.

Second note: Still some issues with the combat selection screen. I went in either during the prologue, or right after it, to test things out, and it had the MC and Markus selected, as expected, which counted as 2 combatants. A whole lot of quests and time later, I went into the menu again after Elena joined the party. The game still counted the two of us as "selected for the combat party", but you could select the characters again, which is some kind of bug. So of course any new selection isn't saved, and therefore you're limited to just the MC and Markus anyway.

To solve the issue of missing so many attacks, you need to increase your agility. At least, that's what I did, and now I hardly ever miss an attack. I have agility between 15 and 20.

As for Elena, she gets selected for me without any problems. At least, I could use her in the caravan escort mission and another one that I don't remember. But she doesn't appear when I attack the Demoraids at night in the Valley of Death, and when I attack Slimejark, my stats reset to default.

Since certain women can get pregnant and have children, does that mean we can have sex with them while they have pregnant bellies, or is that not a thing yet/ will never be one?

The ones you can impregnate you can get pregnant belly versions of the sex scenes, yes.

I could sit here and bullshit that I had a 100% clear idea on the combats function from the very beginning - But that wouldn't be entirely true.

I DID always knew from the get-go I wanted a turn-based-esque combat system but didn't put much thought into it beyond that till someone on my team kinda knocked some sense into me, after which we started giving combat a more serious think rather than just vague ideas.

You never learn quite like when you're on the job and knee deep in it - I'd worked on projects before but this is my first one actually as a lead dev, and never for a project this complex, suffice to say, "Sink or swim" kicked in very fast.

It helps as well we've got some very talented people now on-board who are passionate about the work, makes a real difference.

We planned for the games development to be around 5-6 years, but one thing I've found is estimates and such rarely ever go to plan and a lot can change very quickly, so ... I can't say for sure.

So you get action with 1 girl, then you romance another similar girl who looks a bit different, then you romance another girl who is green, then another girl who is black, then another girl who is furry, then another girl who is slime.

Don't people get a dejavu at some point, like you did that already and this is just an endlessly repeating pattern of romancing and fucking the exact same girl over and over?

Let me add a few more thoughts about the combat.
(yes, I'm a gamer and this has a chance to become a real, playable game, not just a porn slideshow so making a good gameplay is essential for it).

As I said, it became much easier now. As others noticed it's partly because enemies are using some healing spells a lot instead of attacking. Definitely too much. You smash them and they do nothing. It needs to be fixed.

Another thing is Marcus. Previously he joined Caspian only in some combats. Now you can have him all the time I guess. It makes the fight really unbalanced - think of 3 ordinary thugs vs 2 mutant beasts battle. It also makes some plot problems. Previously he had his own life. Does he follow Caspian everywhere like a puppy now? Holds the candle when Caspian shags some lady? ;)

Elena as Caspian companion never leaving him makes much sense. And she wouldn't be that powerful which makes fights more challenging.

Generally managing the party needs to be worked on more. People appear and disappear randomly during fights, menu says that you have 4 members while you have 2 etc.

I'm talking before you got any points to put into stats. And even then, for high level scouts specifically, the chance to miss is noticeably higher than any other enemy.

As for the selection thing, it is just a straight up bug I discovered by the looks of it.

There seems to be a huge performance issue related to the ero scenes but surprisingly it's inconsistent. Some scenes have slow downs and some scenes don't, some of the affected scenes also have partial slowdown for some reason. For example the Adara scenes which take place in the back alley with animated npc movement in the background are slow in its entirety while Arlena doggy and BJ have partial slowdowns (slowdown in the first half for the former and second half for the latter) and when these slowdowns occur only the CPU is at 100% capacity according to the task manager. Some of the Ves scenes have partial slowdowns too. I don't what format the animations files are in but they shouldn't be this resource intensive. I hope it gets resolved in the upcoming version.
If they are video then it's most likely you're using an older GPU. Some of the videos may be encoded with an encoder your GPU/drivers don't support, so it resorts to CPU-based decoding. I see a lot of this with AV1 and x/H265 stuff. Sometimes x/H264 because some users have *really* old cards. You can try forcing hardware acceleration (Shift+G, try GL2, GLES2 is a limited version of GL2 for embedded smaller devices, may also help but probably not), but that may not affect the videos being rendered if they are videos. You can try asking the developer to render them in H264 (much more widely supported). If you're using an Intel GPU give up, they always have been and always will be garbage, I don't make the rules, they didn't give a flying fuck about GPUs and only included them to pull in money back in the day. My CPU usage (AMD) is only 1% to 3%.

I think it feels that way because sometimes it's just... way too easy. I don't mean "gameplay" easy, but the girls (or whoever, I guess) seem unnaturally attracted the the MC for far too vague or contrived reasons.
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
There's nothing wrong with cheap fucks, but making a game out of them certainly feels a bit... boring. Same way the developers recognized there needs to be a way for the MC to understand that they're still not even close to being really strong by introducing the masked guy, so that there is a point in trying to get stronger, richer or whatever.

I think Nyx should have been part of that impossible challenge, another motivation for both player and MC, but no. Yes, even the head prostitute refuses to sleep with you because you're poor, but the "upstanding" captain... Now it once again seems like MC could have anyone at anytime (obviously some things are not yet written but you get the idea). The challenge is also undermined by the fact that things like the rape pheromones and such are simply introduced way too early.

This is actually quite easy to explain. He's handsome, he's a war hero and most of all he's not a normal man but some mutant where sex related stuff is an important part of his mutation. Let's say he releases some pheromones, scent or whatever which makes everyone except straight guys totally attracted to him.

It's also a world where magic exists so his attractiveness may be somehow magical in its nature.

I won't go too much into the deep lore about the actual species of the parasites yet and their full nature.

But I've always been quite candid about the many influences on the parasites, outside of the obvious stuff, Venom, Tyranids, Xenomorphs etc being a big influence on their design.

The film(s), at least the first two: 'Species' were a pretty big inspiration on the sexual element.

This!

It's baffling to me how some people somehow dismiss/ignore that.
He's a total chad and a nice guy as well (atleast in my playthrough he is). Of course women will be all over him...

..., Tyranids,...
Now that you mention it, the little foreshadowing at the start and the constant need to reproduce does have something of a genestealer cult... oh god-emperor! We're a patriarch!!!

Anyway, I can't install the apk. It simply says "app not installed". Anyone know why?

Ye, I just tested after deleting all renpy/game saves. And it doesn't work for me anymore either. No idea how i got it to work in the first place oO
Anyway i tinkered some more, here's the second attempt, now I've tested it after deleting everything, and it seems to work.
Try it again. As before just put it in the ParasiteBlack\game folder
What I tested specifically was starting from Act 1, not from the beginning, I don't think it should matter, but history would suggest I don't quite get renpy...
Oh, and maybe delete the old file if you still have it in your game folder
Sombody please fix the Gallery . This game is wierd . after two years you have play Mortal combat we're not 6 .
