Well you just made a stellar example unwittingly of why doing an engine swap is infeasible in their current form, unless you think they have an army of supporters?Looking at their site and own forum, It doesn't really give the impression its a big studio. I rate it as any other Patreon game out there tbh. There is examples of games on the site here that swapped from Renpy to Unity. Or from RPGM to Renpy, or from qsp to renpy and whatever really. Most common for all these adult games, the payout come when they gain traction and pick up interest. Few of these bankroll these projects on their own. It take place on their spare time.
No? If any it would more suggest do changes early on, rather than run yourself into a ditch have to redo a lot of work later.Well you just made a stellar example unwittingly of why doing an engine swap is infeasible in their current form, unless you think they have an army of supporters?
I think asking the creator would clear up alot of the confusion because im 100% sure this is being bankrolled if that's the case and they can't find supporters making it economically infeasible, mind you this is conjecture. In point doing an engine swap regardless of their current position just doesn't make sense without support. "make it good now no support till then ugg ugg" And I'm pretty confident in assuming this because the creator said some time ago that only 1 person supported the project. You cant tell me it makes sense to do an engine swap if A. its being bankrolled and B. There's no concurrent support. No? You can make commercial games with the Unity "Free" Personal edition though. All it come down to is skills to actually use it.I think asking the creator would clear up alot of the confusion because im 100% sure this is being bankrolled if that's the case and they can't find supporters making it economically infeasible, mind you this is conjecture. Lookinga their website, it seems like the release they just did was intended for May/June release, then delayed even further as one of their coders went back to study. So, maybe there is a small team working on this, but on their spare time outside other work and school whatnot.
I found a interesting thing on their website though. They offered the ability for other game developers to use them as a payment gateway portal. Then with a list of content restrictions, which one of is incest. Funny enough their own game carry that tag.
I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred.
