I'd lie to know this too, the game is access for admin rights to be installed, sounds dodgy for a Renpy game.
Having played for about 20 boring unispired minutes of the game and having read this about the Devs coding I'm out, uninstalling this and hoping my computer doesn't catch on fire.

As far as I know, they never went on Patreon because they already knew Patreon would at some point crack down on them.
The name change was due to another game from a AAA dev being released with the name Imperator. They wanted to avoid any potential legal complications. Personally I think the new name suits the game better. After all, it's about the Patron of a bordello, not about the leader of the Roman empire.
Yeah, it's not that I distrust the dev, but it is a bit strange.
On my Win10 system I have to use "run as adminstrator" everytime when I want to install a .exe, so that's normal.
During the setup, the game also creates a start menu folder and a desktop link (can be skipped) so that's probably the reason for the .exe.
Kaspersky didn't complain against running the .exe, so that's good.
Personally I still prefer a .zip file though.
The other issue I had is that it's not possible to install the game in my usual location, like D:\Adult\Patronus. I had to install it somewhere else and move it manually. So far it didn't create any problems.
All of this does make the entire software feel a bit more "professional" compared to a stock Renpy game.
To be fair, this game does several things that are WAY beyond anything I have ever seen in Renpy. I don't know enough about programming to say that is the reason why things work a bit differently than in a normal Renpy VN. But anyway, games from AAA devs are also not so transparent about what it does and whether or not any malware could be inside. Let alone games from AAA devs as found on torrent sites.

I don't know why but always game kick me with error or unexpected kicking sometimes I can't play game well because of always error and problem's but seems good

and i agree with the other guys, we dont want to see any installer for a renpy game.
@dev @dvemail Please let us know if dev team will remove installer and "normalized" this game-release.

For those complaining about it not being a typical renpy game... you're right. We're doing tons of new stuff. And we're working on more features as well.

I seriously find this game intriguing but I think I will wait a few versions before really playing it fully unless I can find some way to cheat stats and money.
I can see this basic concept of a game being used for other time periods like a medieval knight returning from the crusades for example.

Yes, our work has mostly been on the engine. We are considering a space game version as well. Knights is a good idea also.
No, this has never been on Unity. Frankly I'd love to have been on Unity. This is a renpy effort with tons of work to expand it.
Since you can pay for trainers, why do you need to cheat stats? Part of the design was to eliminate endless grinding. If you use the trainers (baths == social, law court == rhetoric, and in the next version Alfidia will train seduction) you can easily get to 50% skill pretty quickly, between training and weekly skill increase rolls.
