The mercantile trainer becomes available with the Forum unlock, so it's later in the game. But you don't *really* need to do a lot of trading before then.

if MC can get a wife by sacrificing a new relative's appearance, then naturally, baby bump or two shouldn't be a big problem; there's enough of girls.
Noticed the game has the abandoned status, but that the dev has recent activity in the thread. So is it abandoned or?

Not really but for some reason the last update was not posted here, but only on the dev's discord.
The only thing what counts with regards to abandoned status is the last update date posted here. Not updates posted somewhere else, not dev notices or whatever.
also let say the developer does not like to abandon the game, but circumstances are difficult right now. Its somewhere in between active and abandoned and not for lack of trying by the author.
Love the core concept and the art. Sadly, the Dev was far, far, too ambitious with the scope and features he wanted IMO, causing many issues with coding and saves being broken every single update (always a big damper on continued interest).
Way too many stats to grind (Gravitus and Auhoritas could easily have been combined, was Fides even needed as a game element etc.) Let's face it, nobody is going to subscribe to this game because they get to go to the Basilica and/or to watch their Rhetoric grow. Streamlining the game to just the core Brothel Trainer and family storyline would have reduced the development nightmare significantly, and, I wager due to faster game progression, a much bigger pool of players/subs as well.
Would have loved to have seen this game finished.

I get it, you're certainly entitled to your opinion. Yes, we chose the wrong platform for the game, and it's too late to swap to unity. It is what it is. Fortunately, you didn't 'lose' a single penny backing us or supporting the game! The vast majority of the important systems are in the game now, and soon we should be able to start dropping content focused releases.
Rather than support a game like ours, most folks drop their money on endless variations of DAZ-3D incest and Honey Select incest. Obviously this is exactly the kind of click-to-fuck extravaganza we should have made!

The new build coming out is a BUGFIX and stability release of 3.2.72, which was really, really bad. No new content (almost). The game right now is about 500% faster and far more stable.
This game has the best artwork of all games on F95 imo.

Come on! Your last content update was like a year ago! First prove you really working on this and you have the ability to finish it sometimes in the foreseeable future than you can complain about the lack of support! You said yourself you had almost a full year and your next update will be only a patchwork "no new content (almost)"!
People are watching you with open wallets. How many projects do you see getting new comments here with the abandoned tag and almost a full year without new content?
I don't understand the contemptuous tone about other incest projects. Didn't you chose to skip Patreon site so you can offer this exact experience yourself (I mean your team)? I'm not even into this niche but I'm sure you'll find many on this forum who does and fans of DAZ-3D and Honey Select projects too. That kind of talk won't help you getting new support either. Those teams might not produce much original ideas but they at least pumping out new content consistently and when they are unable to do it they are honest enough to shut down any sale sight they have and not rip off their costumers complaining about the lack of support.

it had the lowest support back when it was getting updates out semi regularly. Then lost it's dev, then lost it's key tester who is in Ukraine. It's hard to get a new dev with no support, they're doing what they can.

Started a fresh replay. Visited a slave market, talked to owner & girls, but hadn't bought any yet,
instead decided to go lawyer way and learn socialising at baths. Got girls ungroomed message.
Previously was able to buy girls via Kreon due to his higher mercantile skill, now this works no more.
