They could if they looked.
I've heard there is this new concept called "Search", which apparently lets someone search for things posted on a web-site, and I have even heard it is possible to limit these 'searches' to specific areas of the web-site like a 'Thread'.
But I understand it is easier to just to ask the same question as those that visited a threat before yourself, in the hopes that either someone who knows the answer will reply, or that someone else is willing to do the 'search' for you.
Scrolling up to the "Search" bar at the top of the page, typing in "similar games", checking the "titles only' box and leaving "this thread" as the search parameters (ie. the most obvious thing to do that I could think of) produced
nineteen results.
Man, that is a lot of setup for a search. Sure sounds like something an advanced user would know.
Also, did you even check those "nineteen results"? Because NONE of them, literally none, lead to the answer to the person's question. Unless you want to count this gem as an answer:
You must be registered to see the links
And this is the only other result that leads vaguely close to an answer:
You must be registered to see the links
Which you can safely assume that the person asking a couple days ago is probably not looking for a years-old dead game that "has potential". And every other search result that comes up is just junk like this:
You must be registered to see the links
So yes everyone, do go on about how "easy" it is to find the answer by searching. Of particular note, the very good answer from the last page isn't even featured in these results. And while it's only one page away at the moment, I don't see how the new user is supposed to know that. How far is he supposed to click through pages and read every single comment until he finds it? Five pages? Ten pages? You're also assuming, very arrogantly, that he didn't search in the first place, and then found no answer, EXACTLY LIKE YOUR SEARCH, before he asked his question.
I normally don't post here at all, but I want to speak up because I absolutely hate every user on here who responds with "Just use the search!" As someone very correctly pointed out directly above, the search function here is not that easy to use, nor reliable in its results. I see this all the time when I'm trying to look up something in a game I'm stuck on. I find a ton of people ASKING the question, but no answers, except for jackasses responding with "Just search for it!"
And personally, I fail to see any harm in someone asking the same question that someone else did years ago, in pages long past. You don't need to be a smartass and jump on them while giving a useless non-answer. These threads aren't going to "run out of space", and in fact they are generally quite dead between game releases. And in fact, the real waste of space is all the comments I see saying "Just search for it! It's so easy!", while I'm going through the search results that literally have 0 actual answers.
If I was a mod, I would ban every single one of these people who whine that they've seen the same question before. If someone asks a question, feel free to either help them out and answer it, or ignore it and scroll past as you type out this TOTALLY URGENT BUSINESS that you feel their question is interrupting you from. But don't you dare waste everyone's time by adding yet another condescending and smug non-answer to the search results that everyone else is going to see when they look up the same exact thing. Such as those "Nineteen results" of nothing, which now contain the responses above. And thus, there are now twenty results of no answer to waste everybody's time as they click through them all hoping to find one that actually helps.
To sum up, let's do a fun exercise. Here's how you should react to this social situation:
Question: "Fun game , is there anymore like this ?"
Good answer: "Why yes, my friend, on the previous page you will find many such examples."
Bad answer: "You idiot! Why don't you just go back one page!?"
WORST ANSWER: "Why are all these braindead morons unable to use the search function!?"
That said, I hope there's something helpful for you all in this post.
