Well, look at the bright side fellas, if the game is marked abandoned you wouldn't have a reason to come to this thread and bitch and moan about the update not coming out.
If you think logically you will notice that regardless whether the update comes out or not you are not losing anything (since I am pretty sure that none of you are Patreons). So why cry about it? Are you that worried about other people's money? If they want to keep donating it's up to them. Maybe they just want to give their money to Minx or maybe they want to make it into a pile and burn it... what's it to you?
There is a chance that Minx is really making an update but for various reasons it's taking this long... maybe not. The bitching isn't going to make anything happen.
I admit that i might be incorrect, but i would say that "to bitch and moan" as you define can be seen as entertainment only from an outsider's perspective.
For those who are passionate about a game that has been left in such a long hiatus, i would suspect things feel more frustrating, as in a long strong of regularly dashed hopes in every post, while those expressing their sentiments and grievance serves as a way to both vent their feelings and cope with them, not to mention warn newcomers against having false expectations or hopes when it comes to new ccontent &/or updates.
That said, putting the tag "abandoned", "on hold", "ant's crawl degree of advance" or whatever, read, to admit things are not progressing in satisfying manner to past patrons of the game and related followers, would be a better way to both letting the old watchers cope and forewarn the newcomers, i guess. It's at least part of the reason exist in the first place.
And from experience i can say that topics labeled as "abandoned" or "on hold" don't go exactly without activity either.
I would say that the real matter is the (un)fairness of a situation, in particular how illusory and missleading of the (current) realities with this game is to leave it as is, in equal footing with a number of dedicated Devs that
actually deliver regularly. It's a bit of a slap in the face toward those people and almost an invitation to other "milk farmers" to proceed with their scams.
