Man one hour for 5GB would be awesome. All that I've got is DSL so 5GB would be like 8 hours for me in the best of circumstances (300-320kbps download speed on games seems to be about as high as I can go, myself). So, the good folks who compress these games really are heroes in my eyes.

So as far as compressed vs full, I never wanted to play compresses as I was worried about quality loss, till I tried it. The quality difference is usually small. I only noticed that video seems to suffer more from compression.
But what I always wondered was why the files were so damn big. I play a lot of xbox games and most are around 35gb for everything. Some go up to 95gb, such as red dead 2, but the amount of stuff stored in there is so much more than in images. They have full dialogue, music, sfx, video, plus all the assets for rendering, the game engine, etc.
So when games started getting bigger than a gig I was a little confused. I have thousands of photos I've taken with super high resolution and they are not as space eating as porn games. So I think there is probably better optimization that dev's could use. With video there is also probably better compression that could be used as well.
All that said, I pretty much download compressed until a final version is out, cuz why work my hard drive and internet.

5 GIGS?!!! This was one of the games I usually download full instead of the compressed version but damn, knowing how shitty mega is with those download limits and my internet not being that fast, I'm better off waiting

Download from Nopy. It is fast and without Mega's low limit for free accounts.

Nopy sucks for me, half the speed of Mega and half the time it fails halfway through.

Depends on the time of day i suppose. I have times where nopy is faster than anything and then i have times where it takes an eternity.
