This whole situation is rough and a whole lot deeper than I was originally aware of. I still stand by some of my points but Dammed has made several clearly bad decisions. It's hard to take a stance.

You are trying to over complicate things which are really clear as day. The situation is simple and mundane: the dev was milking funds and lying about working on an update for over 1.5 years. This is not caused by bad decisions nor unforeseen circumstances, this was caused by the dev not giving a damn about the game nor his supporters and acting in accordance. The facts are in and the conclusion is simple: the dev is fickle and lies a lot. If this wasn't the case he would have had something in this time frame or wouldn't have kept lying to the point that he has exhausted all available excuses and trust.

Maybe after a while Sir Damned will create a remake or possibly complete this one. One can hope.
I really wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that to happen. Sir Damned has taken a prime page from the Icstor book of dicking people over to milk as much money from patreons for no return. Hoping for anything from him at this point is like expecting the sun to rise in the west rather than the east.

Hi, I'm just gonna give you guys some info about Polarity Ch5.
Sr Dammed, say that Ch5 will eventully come out, but the update is so big, that requires a lot of time. Sadly there is no exact date, so we just need to keep wating.
The only thing that we know is that Polarity Ch5 is going to come out afther Radiant Ch4.

That's all find and dandy but you must realize that the first 4 chapters only took 9 months and here it is 20 months later after the last release.
I really hope it comes out because this had a very good start and the story got me hooked but the time its taken leave little room to hope.

Together with it will be the biggest update...it's double the normal size...4h of content...a whole year's worth of content...bigger than all 4 chapters

I'd like to introduce you to the story of the little boy that cried wolf. He's been spouting that message almost word for word every month or so for almost 2 years now.
He said the same 8 month ago... Polarity Ch5 will come out after Radiant Ch3... now after Radiant Ch4, and in 8 more month, he will say it will come out after Radiant Ch5. Fact is, he has most likely not done any work on Polarity for 2 years.
First of all I far prefer Polarity to Radiant. However, Radiant earns far more than Polarity and if you read back through this thread you'll find repeated statements by or attributed to Sir Damned that the Polarity update would follow the then currently pending Radiant update. Hasn't happened.
It makes sense that Radiant, being the "big"earner, gets the dev's attention. Further, I'm willing to believe that the dev does work from time too time on Polarity. However, I have no expectation that another update to Polarity will release in the foreseeable future if ever.

He has been saying the exact same statement starting a little over a year ago. "it's the biggest update yet" or "I'm not like other devs I don't want to to release 15 minute updates once a month" and the past several months it's been "5 to 8 hours of brand new content". When you actually do the math you'll learn that 5 hours of content being made over 20 months actually breaks down into 15 minutes of content being produced a month (8 hours = 24 minutes), and that's assuming there are no reused renders and/or scenes AND assumes that the time count of "5 to 8 hours" is exclusively for 1 playthrough (and NOT '5 to 8 hours to see all the content because of branching choices'). He's also made claims that this long of a dev cycle will NOT be repeated for the following chapters but personally I can't take his word for that as he has not learned a single lesson during this.
Around 6 months after launch of the last update is when he started the whole "biggest update yet" and "ready when it's ready not a moment sooner", also when he started "if you don't like the release timeline then leave" which is a terrible business strategy and the plummeting subscriber count proved that, he used to make a fairly large amount of money off Polarity alone.
His word has very little value. He has made many public statements that have all fallen through, how many chapters of Radiant have released with him saying beforehand "Polarity soon after"? or how many times he's said "Polarity release not too far away"? And when called out for failing to meet his own deadlines he says "oops, my release guesstimates are bad" or "oh yea? well other devs are worse", no apology and no respect for his fans and subscribers. There is no way I can be convinced that he would still release Polarity Ch 5 if every single subscriber left him, I genuinely feel he would just move on to the next project and blame the fans not sticking around as the reason why he would cancel the chapter release. He's not entirely wrong when he says "It's not about money" because its about reputation and his is gonna be stained with this for a long time, and if he cancels the release then it will forever be tarnished.

You're almost certainly correct, but I'm holding out a microscopic bit of hope we're both wrong. But hey, I buy lottery tickets, so my hope is never challenged by reality.

Don't apologize for telling the truth. No one else here has any remorse for calling out the obvious.
And really, speaking from my own opinion of the game itself, it's not even really that good to me compared to other games from other devs. Honestly I'm having more fun with this thread discussing the game (or lack thereof) than the game itself. I'm not upset at the fact that I'm not getting an update for a game I want to play, it's the circumstances surrounding the game that bring out the demagogue in me. It's how long this farce has been going on and why that keeps me invested.
Fact is, the game itself just isn't that good to me. I only originally subbed because I thought a couple of the characters were hot. The animations in particular aren't really up to snuff with other similar Ren'Py games nowadays (for example the sprites just kind of clip into each other during sex, as opposed to most other devs that actually animate that). Another thing I don't like is that half the characters in the game are all MILFs for some reason (not my thing), and it's weird to me that one character and her "daughter" look the exact same age. That's just a personal preference to me though and shouldn't be taken as a problem with the game.
The takeaway though is that the game itself (to me anyway) is roughly a 5.5/10, maybe a 6 on a good day. The dev is toting so much hype for this supposed update that there's no way it could ever live up to it. He could've started and released an entirely new game with just as much content in the amount of time he's supposedly been wrenching on this single update.
It's a fucking porn game and he's acting like it's Final Fantasy 15 with how long it's been in the oven.
