VN Ren'Py Abandoned Polarity [v0.4.3] [Eternity Games]

Hi, I'm just gonna give you guys some info about Polarity Ch5.

Sr Dammed, say that Ch5 will eventully come out, but the update is so big, that requires a lot of time. Sadly there is no exact date, so we just need to keep wating.

The only thing that we know is that Polarity Ch5 is going to come out afther Radiant Ch4.

There was one post he made on his Discord a few months back where he outright admitted that he was deliberately being slow with Polarity's updates because he wanted to "take his time" (that attachment is in one of the posts in this thread somewhere from months ago, I'm not gonna dig it up right now). There's other devs and artists I support on Patreon that will come right out and say if they're not going to be able to work on their content for the month, and freeze their Patreons so nobody is paying to support stuff that isn't being worked on. Dammed did the opposite and milked his patrons for who knows how long, and all but admitted to doing it. This is the line I draw between devs on who's worth supporting, when you give a fuck about the people giving you money.

Worse yet the only people that ever get any REAL information about either game are those on his Discord server. I would think the people paying to support him on Patreon should be at the front of the update line, instead there's just barely enough information trickling out of it to keep people hooked on his bullshit.

And no, I'm not giving him any undue hatred, we're way past that. If any other dev I was following pulled shit like this I'd pull support and put them on blast too. This isn't a contradictory witch hunt, it's reading the writing on the wall for exactly what it is. Rather than admitting the game is dead and that he hasn't been working on it at all, instead he strung along the few people left that were still supporting it for over a fucking year, only to turn around and say 'sorry I lied, it's nowhere near done and probably never will be, Radiant more important play that instead lol'. All for a collab with another dev that's just as bad as he is with starting more shit than he can keep up with.

It is even worse than that! If I remember correctly, he admitted to not doing any actual work on Polarity, but he admitted it on the Radiant Discord channel. He was very careful not to share this information on the Polarity Discord, let along make a Post on the Polarity Patreon to admit the same and let the 186 supporters he stil has there make their choice with the full information.

He is voluntarily hiding it from them to keep a few more bucks coming in for no actual work. Tell what you want about it, I call that a scam.

These guys have done nothing but spout bollocks.

How do I know they are lying?

Because they typed it and they haven't made an honest post since they started. Both this and Radiant have had people fork over money to these dishonest set of bullshitters for games they had no intentions of finishing.

If, and this is a big fucking if, work is being done then they have the single worst work ethic i've seen from developers since Duke Nukem took Forever.

People rag on Milfy City for it's lies and lack of progress (until the dev was finally honest and told us it was abandoned) yet we have devs like these and the equally full of shit dev for Offcuts who's update has been coming since 2019.

The thing that cracks me up every . single . time . is when devs complain they aren't making money when they release a new game but they are blaming the wrong people.

If we hadn't been ripped off time and time and time again for the masses of abandoned games and those devs that work like old people fuck (slowly for those that have never seen old people fuck .... not that I have ..... except that one time I accidentally walked in on my boss with her ex in the kitchen at work, I got there an hour early ... i've never got there an hour early since)..... then we'd be willing to back them. I outright refuse to back a dev unless I fully trust them or they have at least completed a game.

It sucks for new devs but I refuse to waste any more money on abandonware.

Point is, they get money they aren't earning for a game they aren't developing and keeping gullible fools easily parted from their cash hanging on with vague promises and outright lies.

Oh, but it's okay because they post a pretty picture once a month.

Devs do hold the rights over their games.

Only way a dev could take over is if this dev gave it to them.

Someone could make a parody but it won't be the same.

Like i've said a thousand times before, even if a new dev did take over it would be a completely different story because they have no idea what this dev was planning and would do their own thing.

Wises words i saw on this forum. Since before Radiand 0.2 i kept saying that every dammed word is a PR bullshit and a lie. Of course they were removed, because telling the truth is a spam, lol. I don't even bother saying it anymore, since many already figured this themselves, and the rest is in denial.

When this was marked abandoned, he posted on this thread to say that it's not abandoned and that if we wanted regular updates we could go to his discord.

I went to discord on a throwaway account a little while ago and asked where the updates were. The users laughed because there was none. Others directed me to the radiant discord where he did post updates. I looked into an "updates" channel for polarity, and all I saw was links to patreon posts that were locked behind a paywall.

I asked him about Radiant and got a reply which was good enough for me though I know 90% of you will not accept his words.

So I took a shot at asking about Polarity since I am not a sub for Polarity.

In 2 more months it will be 2 years since the last update, I do not hold any hope for this ever getting updated.
Dev said at least 2 times right after radiant release but never released an update, this will be the 3rd time dev said that.
