So, uh... what's the gimmick to beating her? The other fight where you help her in the event is a LOT easier.
She can't be engaged as a giant, can run across the entire map because of 11 speed, instakills EVERYTHING in an AoE around her because of swipe...
Oh yeah also poison can deal only up to 5 damage per round to her. OH YEAH AND PERMAMENT -1 STRENGTH TO EVERYTHING SHE HITS WHY NOT
I really can't find a way to cheese her. Is it even worth it? What do you get for the event if you fight and defeat her?

I don't know what you get, since i always encounter this event before i have a decent enough team to fight her... it's just one of X rare plains biome events.
I know that you get the Bloodsword even if you flee the fight, though you won't get her daughter to accompany you afterwards.

For optimal cheeze, i recommand using cursed+wet+weakened for a total of... -100% attack damage and -60% magic strength, yup. So you need one shadow type attack (drain staff or shadow unit) or one curse (cursed dagger or a curse skill or a shadow tile spawning unit like the shadowlizard), one water attack (waterbolt spell or water tile spawning, with trident weapon is the easiest) and one weaken (spell, because you won't make her cum with 0 energy turn 1...)
You can also freeze her one turn with a frost spirit or two frost type attacks (frost spirit or frost spear weapon).
If the portal modifier is "vengeful" though, you're fucked! (curse gives bonus damage instead of malus).
Lust >50% will be there for bonus damage at this point, the reduced damage won't matter as much.

The three weapons trident/curse dagger/frost spear are farmable legendary items through the Insect Queen quest.

It's just too much of a pain to build up to fight her while avoiding plains biome events all the time so i've never done it :(

EDIT : just met her on my current file and tried my own method... got rekt anyway. The different bonuses/maluses are multiplicative, not additive, and with her magic-strike passive (bonus true dmg=mag) she still hits for around 140 (i had curse+water+lust but no weaken)... So the leftover methods are : entangle+kite, freeze to buy yourself one turn, or one-turn burst (only possible end-game this one though, lol).

EDIT 2 : since i had the event on hand, i used the OPMC cheat to beat Phara and see what's up. If you win, the demon-harpies thank you, you earn 8 light shards (craft components) and a 2nd Bloodsword with 9 uses instead of 10. The trouble really isn't worth the potential +9 strength, better defend the giant and get Phy :/

Bro how the fuck are you supposed to burst for 827 damage on the first turn without cheating.
Also, the Bloodsword you get by helping her has 8 uses, not 10. So the one you get by killing her is apparently better.

EDIT: Also, pretty sure I found a bug, NG+ does NOT let you choose your Farm's focus, meaning that you lose either Breeding or Fusing focus you picked in NG (its becomes "None"). Don't think that's intentional... should be a way to switch the focus, naturally by paying for it.

Easy 800 burst on the giant since she has a lust bar. the horror is much harder to one-turn (still possible tho).

You need one good or two okay lust units (aim for 120 lust damage to be sure she's >50%), then with good Kitsunes (magic 10 gene+ a good trait bank, like charging+condensed+empowered+arcane+potential+ancient power) the ZAPs can easily deal 150-200 damage each. And double that if you can spawn a water tile under the giant's feet. And if that's out of your reach, just remember to freeze her for 1 turn, so now you have 2 turns for setup+burst. EZ kill when you know what to do.

This sounds good in theory, but:
1: she can't be engaged meaning she has 2 AP every turn so she can get rid of the lust on the next turn.
2: she has teleport on turn end and map-wide speed meaning you can easily find yourself out of position to use lust on her.
3: Even if you cast 2 Lightning Storm for 200 damage each, that's still a bit less than half her health so we're not talking about turn 1 burst...
4: You effectively need to breed 2 of each lust/caster specialists which on itself is a difficult and time-consuming task

So you need a significant amount of luck for the AI to commit a mistake, which I've learned it frequently doesn't in this game. I highly doubt your claim of "EZ kill" on her.
Then again, maybe I'm still bad at the game, while on my second playthrough. I've still yet to figure out how to actually trigger different endings - seems the only story related things that trigger is the artifact unstable portals and then the final mission one...

While the game itself already give simple recommendation of what a good combo of starter are (centaur+flora or lizard+lymean), i'm curious to know if the veterans have their own reccomendation of a good starter combo?

At this point I just got with whatever gives the highest beauty stat, since the starters end up in the brothel for the entire game lol

Can you unlock the kitsune form as Evo? It gives me the impure ritual option, but then tells me that I'm unable to unlock giants.

Or more over, can you breed kitsune and have the children end up being a kitsune? I tried using Evo with invalid forms to try and force a kitsune child and its giving me seemingly random child species.

Seriously, how do I recruit Terranva? The "use teleport stone inside an artifact unstable portal" method I found on an earlier post here doesn't work at all.

You have to use a teleport stone inside an artifact portal, but within a specific time frame on specific days. For the time, you need to be between 0:00 and 3:00, I believe. For the day, I've only done it on the 15th and the 30th. If you do it too late or on the wrong day, it'll just kick you out of the portal.

Anything with high base beauty is good for a money start in the brothel.

Otherwise i'm partial to ShadowLizard, who is an extremely powerful combat unit with his backstab skill, has amphibious movement type (best in the game right now behind flying) and is NOT shadowbound!
And a seduction/support unit as the second, i like pure succubus (drain skill helps in headhunting) for the balanced stats and anything with the "focus" spell that break the action economy.

This sounds good in theory, but:

You can manipulate the giant's teleport turn 1 by placing your own characters adequately. Takes a bit of calculation, but if your team is high enough a level you'll have enough speed to chase her turn 2 also (8 for a close combat unit, 5 or 6 for a caster, and doesn't matter for Kitsune).

Freezing makes her skip 1 turn and only gives her 5 armor for the frozen turn in return. It's a steal.

Once you've got 1 good unit, getting a second one of the same type is much easier: find another same species (or create it if playing Siena, or breed it, fuck the genes), fuse with a gened up new spirit (who only has his elemental trait+a random one, very quick to raise), now you only need to breed for genes. the potion that makes inheritance 60% per roll instead of 35% will make sure you have an easy time transferring your 6 to 9 core traits (alchemy lvl 2 home building). It's only one breeding cycle.

Note that fully evolved, humanoid/beast type spirits CAN BE BRED! Which means ou can easily get an infinite source of gened up/trait bank spirits to fuse on your units.

Can you unlock the kitsune form as Evo? It gives me the impure ritual option, but then tells me that I'm unable to unlock giants.

The way to breed Kitsune/Liferoots/other troublesome unique-gendered stuff is to fuse a spirit onto them. Fuse a male spirit onto a kitsune and force the inheritance of male gender. If you've beaten two of them, you now have one male and one female... enjoy the power trip!

You can't unlock the Kitsune form though, neither on Evolution or Creation.

On a day multiple of 5 (day 5, 10, 15, 20 and so on...), in an artifact portal, between 00:00 and 03:00, use a teleportation stone.

Perfect, I just captured two more lol

Edit: lmao, and now I have about 15 more. If I fuse them down to about 5, I'll have max health/mana/magic/lust on all of them lol
Time to start going on an alpha-striking rampage.

That's what I'm doing. Day 15 (of month 2), entering the portal alone with a teleportation stone, I use it and... nothing happens. I just get pulled out of it.

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out at last, I misunderstood the timing. I thought you need to do it up to 15:00.
That's a pretty narrow window of opportunity, 3 first hours on days multiple of 5, isn't it?

Okay, another random ass question that I can't figure out on my own

In every game I play, eventually the lake lights up like there's an event there. But I don't know how to trigger it. Anyone know what the game wants me to do there?

Only event in the lake i remember is recruiting Liza (the lvl 15 unique LightLizard)... appears after coming back from X portal expeditions i think?

Some events also only trigger at a certain time of the day: for example, the "noble rich guy showmatch" event with Aila can only be triggered in the arena between 07:00 and 17:59 because Aila is in the arena at the time, even though the "arena" map button will be highlighted the whole day.

I also have a similar problem and never seem to be able to recruit Xhana that's supposed to just "show up" there when you have Avy for some time.

I got Liza already, but its still lit up. It's weird. I also sat at the location spamming the 'wait 15 minutes' button hoping that would do the trick, but I don't think that actually triggers events (oops)

I've had Avy in every game I've played, but I've never seen Xhana. Hadn't even heard of her lol

I might be playing this game wrong but I always end up with over 10k gold and a lot of characters that are useless that I don't know what to do with (this always happens like 10 days into a new save). The game creates this incentive for you to recruit a lot of characters in order to farm reagents for crafting and breed/fuse more powerful ones, but managing them all really wears you down after a while. I end up putting them to work in the brothel and crystal farming, but even with the "high standards" difficulty on the brothel still generates ridiculous amounts of gold and the whole thing just feels unbalanced?

What sucks also is that you can't really let go of characters without everyone losing morale. I can understand the morale loss if you are inside a portal because you are most likely leaving them alone to die but why is that also the case in the town? If I've understood correctly they are just mercenaries and you are respectfully letting go of their service, nothing wrong with that. I've resorted to putting those I no longer want on a rooster and letting them die in the arena but that just feels wrong lol (its also quite a chore and wastes ingame time). I obviously really like this game but it feels imbalanced in some ways.

Yeah the game obviously lacks some polishing as far as balancing comes (and it's very balanced IMO), but the dev still reworks some systems update to update.
So far your options are to toss the redundant characters into the brothel - but you don't need so much gold, or tossing them into the farm to breed to generate crystals - that you arguably don't need either because the later portal rewards give them to you in the hundreds.

Yeah the morale loss in town is... ugh... lore-wise you're throwing them back to unstable life in a not-yet-stable-society with no resources, so i can understand, but gameplay-wise it sucks.

Solutions (the first three you've already mentionned):
-suicide squad in the arena (requires permadeath enabled though). alernative is to leave them alone in a closing portal and use the "return to town alone" option (only MC will come back though, all the expedition loot and characters will be lost iirc).
-farm pairs for crystals/milking
-brothel (gotta train them a bit though)
-complete tavern quests with them. breeding and training quests remove them from your roster.
-give them to the Arena (strong+4str gene)/Library(intelligent+5mana gene)/Brothel(5 lust gene) to employ.
-give them to the library for research (only once per species, no pure species.)

Don't hesitate to use spirits to fuse onto units to meet the requirements for quests! If giving them to arena/library/brothel, note that money is 250+50/level and that you also get 5 relationship with the NPC.
