yep... prty much this, if devs don't want the abandoned tag to hit there games all they had to do is perform the herculean effort of managing to put out an update in 18 month period, that's it.... i like that this site has the update req and not the talking on social media as a req for not optaining the abandoned tag, i would put it this way, i am sure that EVERYONE would be happy to remove the abandoned tag on games when they recive game updates, the ball is not on this site nor on us on the forums whether or not a game gets the abandoned tag, it begins and ends with the dev of a game, nothing more, nothing less.

Sure, I doubt though that WWG (or most devs) care all that much about if a pirate site marks their game as abandoned or not. If anything, it's gonna get removed when they finally deliver an update.

What's getting on my nerves is people behaving as if the tag had any kind of decisive quality in itself, preventing devs from continuing working on their game. It's just an arbitrary label.
If people look at the history of this game and decide to believe it's not gonna get finished, they have every right to do so. But drawing any sense of confirmation from the mere fact that the tag is there (apart from the very valid argument that it have indeed been 18 months without an update) is just plain stupid.

The word abandoned doesn't mean anything if a dev who gives status updates monthly, WHO WE ALL KNOW IS GOING TO FINISH THE GAME is getting the abandoned tag.

For a second I thought there might be a new post where he says he was going to give up for a year and take a break and he might not come back. THAT would be abandoned.

This is just people getting frustrated with dev times. But if you know the game is still actively being worked on, then it's not abandoned.

There should be a separate tag for "delayed" or "hiatus" that reflects slow uploads. but "abandoned" refers to games that are fucking dead. Like "a failure to launch" or "cherish these times". Those games are abandoned. This is just "delayed".

If the tag means nothing why does it have you so worked up?

He hasn't given an update since June 1st and didn't post in April, he's only posted twice in the last 3.5 months since things were delayed (his normal cadence is 3-4 times per month), so "monthly updates" is a pretty loosely used term. Also, how do you know the game is being actively worked on like you say? It was supposedly 93% complete 6 months ago. Seems like a pretty good assumption he hasn't been actively working on that 7% this entire time. His own reasonings/excuses (however you view it) even hint at him not working on it or barely working on it.

18 months with no update is a pretty reasonable timeline for the abandoned tag.

Uuuuhhh its being said cause for the last 18 months it was taboo to even suggest such a thing in here. Also, if you DO get worked up because of how other people are behaving life's gonna be a long one. And at this point the guy hasnt given YOU an update in 6 weeks so how are we still glazing him? Maybe if yall didnt go this whole time just letting all of this pass and held the guy you were paying accountable he wouldnt be so cavalier with his communication. I mean, were getting this for free... so whats bugging US is why in the heck you'd pay for this and still act like its okay to treat you this way. But hey, its your money. Also, considering most games get the support they do by starting out as a pirated game on here, he should definitely care at least a little... especially since given what's happening now if he was to actually continue on to something new it would be new pirates that would have to instill a level of trust in a new game. Don't underestimate what this forum does for the games in it.

Completely disagree on the tag being worthless. I have supported many games before. All of them I first played here but if a game has the abandoned tag I won't even go near it. So it probably won't change the current number of patrons but it surely hurts discoverability.

And it just always urked me the lack of standard yall held him to because YOU love this game enough to pay for it. So wheres the outrage? The indignation? Were at the finish line and youre getting 6 weeks of silence. Not even excuses or anything. I understand empathy, better than most I assure you... but were much closer to apathy at this point. And if hes going to listen to anyone youre right, it isnt us. ITS YOU. You have to be the voice. That lets him know this isnt okay. If not for us than for yourselves and your pride and investment. Secondly, in his last post on June 1 WWG said: "I expect the update to be out by the end of next month." We still have two weeks until then. If that comes and goes with no update I will downgrade my subscription tier. But I don't see the sense in complaining preemptively.

Lastly, I think he's already starting to lose support. If the trend continues, perhaps he'll find motivation as you suggest...

I'm subscribed at the highest tier. If enough of us were to downgrade, I think WWG would feel it. I'm not ready to unsubscribe entirely, because I want to keep access to his Discord.

Well, you're the one saying this isn't okay. Patrons will have to decide for themselves if they see it that way and what consequences they'll draw, like Fayn Arawn mentioned they'd wagered.
If WWG's behaviour is 'okay' or not is still up to debate and personal opinion. The lack of communication sure isn't something to be happy about, depending on what are the actual problems that WWG seems to have to deal with, that still might be 'okay' in my book. We simply don't know.
Same as you apparently, I've put no money in this. I'm still expecting an update to come sooner or later, if it's gonna be at the end of this month, we'll see. Until then I'll just enjoy other stuff.
If you feel you have to be upset about the current facts, that's your decision. Don't tell me or anyone else though how we have to interpret the situation or how we have to feel about it.

This is one of the few games I wouldn't worry about being "abandoned". WWG has been top notch for years. Even if the updates are rather slow.
