So...erocomix authors started developing an erogame with sex scenes. Which is "its just not the styles the devs are aiming for". And discussing it on the porngames forum. Sounds legit.

These people were not around during the golden age of good VNs and it shows. Hell they weren't even around for the MGQ trilogy. Porn is better when it has context.

Well a few of us have dev experience across the industry too. I've done writing in some surprising projects, we have people who worked at Spiders, and a ton of adventure games lol. Arbuz was working on the comic alone, we all came on to develop an actual game, with the intention of making it an ACTUAL game as well as an erotic game.

Maaaaaan... if I have my way trust me, there will be. None YET but I'll make it happen. Funny, I always thought it was all just "NTR" but now I know the tag for Netori my search engine prowess has increased.

Yeah the bar for hentai games has been rising a lot, too. Super simple old stuff like VNs or those low-effort breeding games just aren't cutting it in the broader market and expectations have risen, a lot. The old gems are basically becoming the standard now, and even then they aren't always cutting it. Insane art production can still carry the day of course but people are expecting a game with that art now, and we can see it in the buying trends etc on steam.

Games like Aurelia have set a new standard that most the world/industry is lagging behind for VNs for instance. And we are seeing some teams reallys tepping up, Knightly Passions for instance really swings for story and art with content as a game etc. Honestly I don't think we'll see many VNs outside of something like DLsite especially since a lot of real AAA game devs are entering the erotic game space now... we're going to see a massive fucking paradigm shift led by these western bigtime devs entering the industry.

I disagree with the notion that there was a golden age for VNs. There's always a sea of crappy Nukige. The good games always stand out because they excel in some area, be it worldbuilding for RPGs, story for VNs or hell they are just fun gameplay wise. I also think you can have good game with crappy porn. For me that is Sengoku Rance, hell I skipped most of the CGs to get back to the strategy game lol.

In the end it is all about managing expectations. I usually try and find something else if I'm not enjoying something, others don't.

Yeah, there's a lot of nostalgia around hte older games, though they were gems at the time. The bar has been rising... a lot... and no offence meant but Japan has not been keeping up/started to stagnate in the kind of content it produces.

Critical Bliss has actually nabbed a few of them, while I can't say WHO exactly, but you can poke and check out some of their library to see the newer/newest releases have a shocking amount of polish and design. Flipwitch has baller fucking art and music,
a blizzard dev is confirmed to be working on Bad Night and did an interview with Pippa Pipkin about it. Devs from Wildlife and Carnal Instinct worked in AAA, a bunch of laid-off Riot employees are entering this sphere (can't say WHICH game but its coming).

Yup, that fucking door and its fucking invisibility. Soo frustrating. Soo stupid. Soo obvious.
I played Mist recently. I has pretty good story. Utawarerumono from 2002 has great story, but I guess it hardly an eroge, coz there is few scenes there. Original Fate Stay Night has a quite decent and touching story, not without stupid shit though.

Because the combat system is our most complex bit of design. Yes there was a prototype, obviously. We've done design documents, and we have made several changes over the course of development. Skills, skill trees, balancing, the targeting, visibility through objects. We changed from a standard "battlespace" to being able to do battles inside of any location.

We haven't decided on all the phenotypes of the Zahra... but I would like Bovine too tbh, Arbuz insists that they have "feet" vs hooves since he wants them all to have a common root, but personally I think it's fine if we have a few convergent Zahra evolutions that might not be able to breed with one another...

But I am 100% against fisting, I will... not allow it in the game. These bastards (ArbuzBudesh , deck ) won't let me have my fucking wholesome and cute watersports scene where you pee on some chick, I will NOT let them sneak in that fisting weirdness! Sheesh.



But yeah we have about 30 hours of content in the full version right now and 30-40 scenes... actually I think we are up to 55-60+ scenes now? I would argue it is good but I am biased as I am VERY proud of the animators, artists, composers and writers I work with. Here's a few short gifs... or one gif, can't fit anymore lol
