Eh I'll try it out when there's an incest patch. "Childhood best friend" just sounds silly, at least to me, particularly when it's supposed to be in the Middle Ages when that was more common.
Technically, it actually wasn't. The Catholic Church banned marriage between cousins and second cousins in 506, and kept expanding the prohibition until it reached 6th cousins, which proved unworkable and was cut back down to third cousins in 1215. It wasn't until the Reformation, when Protestants let cousins get married, and the Habsburgs had the money and power to get the Church to look the other way (which also meant they had more to lose, hence the inbreeding), that cousin marriage started becoming semi-common. In the Middle Ages, royal marriage was about alliances and so forth rather than blood purity.

Hi All,

Updated my compressed Android port of The Price of Power Chapter 17 with the walkthrough mod.

Got some basic gestures loaded in: swipe up for save menu, swipe down to hide UI, swipe left to rollback and swipe right to skip.

Please let me know if you encounter any issues with the port and I'll see what I can do to get them sorted.

Link:

Edit: Updated the port to include the walkthrough mod.

Consider adding that "Buy Me A Coffee" choice if you want. People like myself don't like to give money to Patreon (they've done a lot of shady crap) or some folks don't like to keep track of a bunch of subscriptions. With that Buy Me a Coffe, I can buy like 5 coffee's and that's your price of an average indie game I think and I don't have to give money to Patreon or lose track of a subscription. Anyway, again, that's if you want, just food for thought.

Good game, I really like it.

I think it might be time for MC to make a new bow, perhaps the AI's could show him how to make a compound bow out of salvaged parts once the remnants lead them to a few ruins?

I know it'll depend on what 3D assets you have available, so even if it's not a compound bow with cams .etc, at least have him upgrade to a regular bow with a stronger draw strength to better match his new physical ability?

btw, a melee weapon for someone like the MC with improved strength, dexterity, reflexes and precision, a spear sword would be ideal.
again obviously it'd depend on what 3D assets you have available.

I guess you didn't know that the utter vast majority of marriages in need of dispensation were celebrated in mountain village communities (Alps and so on) where people were very very poor.

Having said that, I think people who haven't played this game should not been mislead: this story isn't set in middle ages, this is a SF post-apocalyptic age story.

Some people don't like DRM.
Just to be clear - I don't do DRM. Even if I did want to implement DRM, it's pointless in Renpy. The whole game is written in Python and can be decompiled pretty easily (unless I do some shenanigans to make it slightly harder to decompile), so any modder could probably de-DRM the game in 10-15 minutes.

The problem wasn't about being childhood friends. The problem is the difference of class which was a serious problem in the medieval age.
The problem is that the story as a whole has nothing to do with incest, and incest would make no fucking sense in this game even if the MC was rich as hell from the beginning. That guy is just one of the many entitled dimwits that roam this site.

Anyway, I came here to share with all of you one of the most embarrassing moments in my life, all due to this game :(

So this afternoon I got home from work, and after drinking 1 litre of ice-cold water I decided to cool off a bit more by replaying a couple of episodes of PoP. (For the Murkans on this site, 1 litre is more or less the size of a small drink from McDonald's)
Well, the bell rang so I left my laptop on and went to open the door: someone had decided to drop by unannounced. This person walks into my living room, looks at my laptop's screen, and yeah, it turns out Maria and the MC were getting frisky in their usual way.

"Oops, sorry! They're... they're holding hands...", my untimely visitor pointed out.
Flustered as I was, the only words I managed to utter were:
"Ye-yeah... BUT THEY'RE ENGAGED!"

That's a healthy and wholesome relationship. Congratulations :BootyTime:
With my ex, we used to watch some very specific kind of porn; it was a really good ice-breaker, but I had to be very very careful with what we chose.
Indeed, any Hispanic woman will drill your eardrums with thousands of words a minute and a voice volume that only Tarzan would be able to compete against.

That's because we are everywhere, and not afraid to say sorry when necessary. ;)
Fun fact, I'm actually Californian. :D The story just makes sense in Northeast Canada geographically given several hundred years of climate change, plus it's a bit fun to have to research all sorts of stuff to make the game work.

Another fun fact - I briefly considered setting the game in Sweden for geographical reasons, but then I'd need to figure out all the naming in English, special characters, etc. Canada was much easier and worked just as well, so it won! IIRC, that last sentence is also Canada's slogan. :p

Here. Have this map I found a while ago of the Earth with all the ice melted. It probably is based on a height map and doesn't take into account land mass rising when there's no glaciers weighing it down, but it does well enough, especially further away from glaciers.
