Overview:
The year is ~2200. On a remote mining outpost, a mysterious parasite is causing a severe outbreak that is quickly turning into an humanitarian crisis. Reports of violence, madness and mutations have forced the local government to enact a total lockdown of the settlement.
A team of specialists has been dispatched to contain this threat, find out where this organism came from and hopefully reestablish order.​

when does this get marked abandoned like the 3 previous "games" he walked away from?

Looks pretty clear to me that the previous games had to happen for the dev to get the necessary experience to make this one possible and you can tell that this is the game the dev wanted to make from the start. So the other games being abandoned isn't really concerning in this case as they have fulfilled their purpose, especially considering the regular dev updates.

Maybe, so far this game is an unsorted mess of ideas that don't compliment one another. It looks like the dev is experimenting with new systems they've never used before, just like in previous games. I see this game becoming one long unfinished story of feature and scope creep, adding new things without regard for whether they actually fit in the game. It's a big game, only getting bigger, and attention wanders.

Honestly, the only thing that rn it's a bit everywhere without clear direction is the lore...
Matto is experimenting with system in order to tailor them to the game, that's the game development in a nutshell, I mean, he's not starting from a pre-built set of things, he's creating them for the game, not creating a game on some existing or already determined set of tools and this requires a bit of trial and error...

I hope he can see this project to the end, unlike his other three attempts. This one looks promising.
NGL, you sometimes want your project to die if it's a horrendous technical mess. You can consider those past attempts to be "learning". It's better to let a bad project fade away than pour effort into a bad foundation, particularly true when it's just bungled to hell and your project is leagues away from being finished.

I'm pretty sure he would be interested, he did intend to finish that game but lost all his data in an HDD failure, and the powers that be (supporters on Patreon) voted for the current project over attempting to revive the sidescroller.

As far as I know, he intends to go back and work on the original project (Section 7), but I don't know if he is planning to revive or replace the sidescroller. This is all for the future as well, since he's definitely committed to finishing this one.

I actually need a vote for this, what do you guys want to see the most for the next post? 1: New mutant models and item models. 2: Using item animations and item models (inspired by Escape From Tarkov) 3: Overhauled combat animation for melee weapon (replace most of combat anims with mocap)

Now, Combat Sequence Animation System + Sequence Camera Animation System are finally ready. I see a massive potential from these 2 systems. Combat will feel a bit more cinematic this time. Still WIP btw (There is a small clipping and the intro transition is a bit too slow, I'll fix this soon). Guarding for melee weapon might be my next task.

I'm kind of worried by the H content being made a mod. Will the H content really be at all connected to the gameplay then or will it just be a gameover thing? I was hoping for pregnancy or some other way that the H content would directly relate to gameplay.
Gonna take a wild stab and say that the "adult mods/patches" that'll be available separate from the main product will come with the "mechanics" that make it feel as though it is a proper (not necessarily "core") component of the game itself.

Several games (referring namely to rpg-maker based games from large-ish publishers like Kagura Games) get released on steam that have the more (if not most) lewd aspects stripped out and you otherwise wouldn't know there's h-content to be had there, but can be added in with a patch then it is lewd for dayssssss.

I've no involvement in the development process myself so that is my stab in the dark on how the h-content will shake out in the end.

Yes and no.
It has been stated multiple times by the dev that he wants to put the least game over possible in the game, meaning that unless your whole roaster of characters gets blown up in some lethal ways, you'll always have the option to go back and rescue from or try to escape the predicaments your characters will find themselves in.
The reason why the adult content is being stripped is because of all the recent bans that we're seeing by crowd funding platforms, Patreon being the first, they actually changed their tos multiple times to limit more and more the adult themes.
Do not fret, due to the modularity of the animation sequence and how the systems are being created, the "mod" will seamlessly integrate itself with the game and will open it to third party collaborations, expecially in model rafting and animation integration; Matto has already involved someone external, an animator he previously knew and trusts to tackle the bulk of adult animations and (supposedly) adult bits of the models to integrate in this third party package.
