Very much alive, dev suspended/cancelled the patreon as they prepare for commercial release on steam.

There's more to it but that's the nuts n bolts of it.

I defended the reboot because losing your stuff without making a backups is a genuine mistake I've made. And at least to me whenever he switched genre it seemed more like he was just iterating off his old ideas instead of starting over from nothing. The setting and mechanics changed but there was a clear progression of the main concept from one version to the next.

But I won't defend the SFW bait and switch then trying to pawn the NSFW part off on a modding community that doesn't exist now and isn't guaranteed to exist in the future. It's scummy on top of being a terrible idea. I've seen a few projects trying to survive off the backs of volunteer modders and it never worked.

Bethesda games get the amount of mods they do because on top of being extremely popular they have almost 20 years of documentation, tools, and experience carried over from previous games. That audience isn't going to suddenly switch over to an entirely new game from a flaky solo indie dev with none of the support they had previously.

Nah bro i get you, i'm just talking about the great communicators that have dismissed valid points of view as just "trolling" and other dickriders, those dickriders are the same ones that later on complain about getting scammed

People are not getting that bit 'wrong'.

What has everyone worried is how the Dev opening 'doors' so to speak to potentially avoid having to tackle NSFW content himself. By suggesting that other developers, not 'just him', can make the NSFW content, and making references to Bethesda games--Famous for having a large modding community backing them up.

Maybe he does intend to make ample amounts of NSFW content. And maybe he really did just meant to say that he was open to community additions. But he picked out some of the worst examples of the gaming industry for comparison, after all Bethesda games are also infamous for being broken as fuck and requiring the community to fix them. It's been said that the dev isn't very good at communicating, well maybe he needs a marketing team, then, because the optics aren't exactly positive right now.
