Unreal Engine Abandoned Project Extermination: Operation GroundZeroes [Phase 2 - 2023-07-16] [MATEYDEV]

The first one had the potential to be peak, and the second one was one of the better Alien Quest Eve successors. Both being abandoned for generic UE open world slop is so disappointing, especially considering this won't be finished either. I hope someone makes a game like this guys first one again, it's such a waste.

As 2nd version you meant the one where she was inside dark corridors just opening cabinets and getting caught by the aliens to be used? That was interesting indeed, I'd say.
The 1st I guess was the platform styled in 2d, right? I wasn't into that one, honestly. Anyway... so I guess I misunderstood... the open world is not gone lost with data loss, is it?

Yesterday I started using a few assets I like a lot... still not sure if I can make it with sex involved, mostly because sex animations and body morphs for my engine {I work on UE5 since the Early Acess release} are hard to find and not my best skill, but I'm still considering the idea... I'm not particular in love with horror games tho' so... too early to make any announcement. All I know for sure is I love the idea of making an adult game and in case I'd go for it I'm not gonna hide behind Patreon and such...

That RE-like corridor crawler was the first game - abandoned for unknown reason.

Sidescroller was the second game - supposedly lost due to HDD corruption (now a side project of a dude who makes smut content for THIS game).

Open-world is a third game - this one.

Second was indeed the best of the three. So much potential. Nothing to be done about hard drive corruption. But yea I stopped following the dev about 2 years ago when it became clear that this project would never go anywhere. Now I check in every once every sixth months just to remind myself why i stay away

You have no idea how much dead unreleased games there on Steam...

All we can do is wait and see. Patreon was closed because funding goals were met. If we get anything out of it i'll gladly eat crow, but if it does turn out to be a scam after all this time, they will have, quite literally, took the money and ran.

You can follow their Twitters (one for main game and one for the NSFW mod and older game remake) for updates, but updates have been kinda scarce.
They also, apparently, post updates on their Discord, but I couldn't care less about following yet another in-development game's Discord to keep track of things so you'll have to look into that one yourself.

NSFW was separated so that the main dev could conform to the laws of his country. Instead of dropping the project completely, he found a solution. Not going to speculate on the rest.

However, speaking of rolling and sprawling:

Now it's being a whole new game! in this title, it will be takes several years
and years later, it will be named another one and also took years and change title again and...

Yeah this game will come out 2030, the beta though. Then he will change the name and restart as new game which will be released like 2040.

The developer is still active but not on this site. They are posting updates on twitter and pixiv too I think.

To be fair, there are developers that are also active, like the dev of marie's adventure (IIRC), but have not posted an update for their games in so long (in this site) that they still get the abandoned tag

I guess its not the only thing that don't make much sense in this site. Not all developers have a presence on this site so the basis of their thread being marked as abandoned is simply not releasing a new playable build for a long time despite still being actively developed and posting updates on their own platforms.
