Gentlemen, I recommend you give it a try. I have done so and Stephanie, the protagonist of Abnormal, would be great friends with our much-missed Amy.
It's not the same (nothing will be), but it's the closest visual novel to “Project Sage” I've read in terms of slow-burn plot. If you prefer a remake, enjoy this.

Completely agree, Steph and Amy would be a perfect match.
For now Abnormal is in the beginning of the story and it looks fun.
