lmfao knowing Eromancer, it's probably the Larva enemies dropping from the sky that constitutes as the "fun surprise". This game is such a joke. One month and all they've done is add another shitty enemy to fight and finished an H-scene from last release.
These sweet $15k/month tho. That say, 3+ ppl salaries.

We have proverb in our country " Goof is not a mammoth, goof will not die out". They just dropped another bait and lemmings with money beleved in them again. Updates will drop down untill zero eventually. Sadly these guys can do games. But why should they do games if ppl paying them for doing nothing.

Won't drop to zero sadly no matter how little the content updates are. I've seen another big patron game that became discontinued and still made 1k a month for a year and eventually dropping to $500-600 with the last patron post around 2-3 years ago. If this game didn't get many patrons and $$$, the developer wouldn't be as complacent as he is now.

Man, I fucking hate when animators and artists just up and make a game and forget to invite anyone who knows how to make a game, anyone wants a case study on how not to make a side scroller here you go.
Just out of curiosity, what would you change? or how would you do it?

Added a fun surprise that has a chance to occur at the beginning of each wave in Skyline/Sewers. Watch out >.>

Apart from this, absolutely nothing worthhile in terms of gameplay.

And even that could turn out to be utter bollocks.

run on a separate button

double tap to actually do a dash in any direction (including up or down) probably give this dash I frames

light and heavy punch and kick different buttons, combo of say 1-5 lights into heavy ender basic stuff, be able to mix up kicks and punches to do different cool looking stuff

change the flow of the combos, currently you have to hit the punches super early to get the combo to come out and so you are now locked in to performing atleast 1 more so if the enemies get pushed out of hit alignment (happens alot) you whiff into the air, i would add more hitstun and hitstop which would give me ample time to see i need the next punch and press the button

special button that combined with direction gives you a special move, one could be aoe or whatever

I would not make the punch combo move enemies up or down on the plane (this is super annoying)

maybe make the hitboxes extend a bit more up or down, currently you have to be super aligned to hit the enemies and they need to be super aligned to hit you

add a grab to deal with blocking/make heavies break block

increase player walking movement speed

add i frames after breaking free of sex grab

oh and before i forget id get rid of that stupid slide thing she does at the end of a run where you cant act for 10 years jesus christ

add running moves so run actually has an offensive use

the way it is now you just spam the punch combo or maybe kicks and hope things die, if they go for a grab you beat them to it or jump, if you are grabbed and break out of it you get beaten instantly before you can leave and leaving is hard because walking is slow running is on double tap and jump is sluggish and you are still vulnerable with all of those options (many side scrolling beat em ups have aoe attacks that drain your life to use). the boss on stage one is a fucking nightmare since you cant block his attacks and your character is too fat and slow to get out of the way of them, his hitboxes are massive so you just walk up slowly and hit him probably once and he will attack and there is nothing you can do about it, if he grabs you also cant do anything.

I dont play alot of side scrolling beat em ups but I play alot of porn games, a great example of how to do it well is this game https://f95zone.to/threads/strange-flesh-v1-4-greatest-bear-studios.94681/ its gay so it might be hard for some people to play but if you want to see a beat em up done well here you go, you dont have to copy this exact way but they clearly designed game mechanics to compliment each other and work well. For instance you need to fuck to regain health, you need to defeat enemies with a smoke attack to make them primed to fuck after being ko'd but these attacks are slow so you need to use physical attacks to weed out a straggler to fuck, this works because I can use throws or an attack that knocks down to separate someone or I can try to knockdown all the enemies since they stay on the ground for a while plus you can attack while they are down all of this is complemented by the movement which easily allows me to position myself in the appropriate place after i have created an advantage for myself or escape a poor situation (i think this game has double tap run, but it felt better than in onyx, in onyx i ran when i didnt want to and didnt run when i wanted to often). This game doesnt even have a block but you dont need it, its designed properly.

I agree, and for a beat em up the combat is so bad like have the devs ever played a good beat em up before? everything is clunky and rough even after all these years working on this barebones alpha

Most of what MyPorn said and that down attack just needs to be replaced. Instead of being something you chain into, it's a thing you have to carefully position. I stopped bothering unless there's nothing else to to do.

hey guys i use an emulator to run games but for some reason, it wont even start at all im not sure if anyone experienced a problem like this

Honestly costume changes is something I am happy to see considering every gear we can get without any visual difference but I totally agree that this over any big advancement is not a good thing either.
Change the costume and you likely have to touch up all the animations, then run all future animations through the differences. Why a lot of side scrollers will eihter make a whole new character, or have one outfit max. It just slows it down, and this game does not need any more help with slow development (albeit high quality).

Really the gear makes no odds at all, unless you need to make the game easier (more hit points, more damage), but you can just make an easy mode for that. No need for level up or gear. But I suppose, maybe the backers want to dress up Onyx!

The only reason Eromancer is getting all that money is no other game on the market has such high quality art and animations. That's it, which is a stretch imo to be giving them my money but it's subjective. I'd say, as a patron, you also need to think objectively about the devs' MO, their past projects, their penchant for grab-n-run.

Visual progression has really resonated with me as far back as the original Final Fantasy. Calling it dress up isn't completely fair.
