The circulation... Those who are new are bewildered with the quality and the fluidity of the animations, strong retro vibes and decent quality gameplay for a work in progress... Few months, or even a year passes, those people understand that this is a scam, they stop supporting... BUT, new ones are always being exposed to this work and start the process from over, basically a process of meat grinding where people come with hopes, support if they can, lose hope and stop supporting, all the while the process benefits the dev financially with little to no effort, and the amount of people on the internet is close to virtually endless with more active every day, the developer has tapped a remarkably stable source of potential supporters. These minor updates are vital to make the game seem active and keep the interest level at just the right level so people will find themselves in this loop. Fewer updates, the balance of supporters would fall, more updates, expectations rise and the number of supporters rise TEMPORARILY followed by a striking reduction due to the inability to maintain the momentum...

Although we all share a common distasteful sentiment regarding this type of practice in subscription based supporting mechanism, you have to understand the devs are doing nothing but a reaction to the global trend... I personally despise this malpractice of client milking, but I also understand it. Think about it for a second, if the dev had fulfilled the promise and completed the game, say, last year, that would have meant the support would cease... Why would they purposefully stop a perfectly good source of financial income for themselves (especially during these times). Sure they can just go for released versions and sell the game legitimately, but 20k USD a month is there right now, why bother losing it? You can always release and sell it, it is not like the project is going anywhere...

Part of the problem is us, we are not determined enough to impose certain principles on the developers to motivate them into showing and following more promise. Again, I hate it, but I also understand it... Sadly...
This is the best sum up I've read on this site about huge earners/ne'er-deliver-well types like this one. Same could be said about other devs: a few years ago before he stopped disclosing his Patreon earnings, Redamz' Monster Girl Island cashed a cool $32k/month o_O

I think you perfectly nailed it on the newcomers aspect. Imagine you just discovered porn games are an actual thing: on one hand you have a very slick 2D animated project that looks gorgeous ngl, and on the other countless Daz3D waxdolls. I too would support the former!

Uploadheaven only has a small 3.2mb file. Where is the entire game? Im not using some suspicious "installer" :)
That's not the real one. It's a .ZIP file with a Unity executable. The Executable is inside so any .EXE is not real and should probably be deleted immediately. I don't think the actual download has a seperate window. Check the installation instructions to see if a .exe is needed, but if it is, it'll look obvious.

There is no any "installer" here, the guy clicked on some ad link instead of a real download.

The actual file that should be downloaded is the archive file with ".zip" extension.

Went ahead and uploaded my copy to anonfiles to try to help out with this. For the newcomers, yes, Eromancer is a scam artist...however, with that said, you'll nut a few times to his "games". Neither of which will ever be truly completed also.

Enjoy!

Oh, of that you are right actually...but after a nut comes post-nut-clarity and you shouldn't have thoughts like "jeez, this is so fucking barebones that I have to go play Goat Simulator". That's actually a very good indicator if the game is good, decent or just plain bad - if, after satisfying your basic urge, there's still something to keep you busy in a fun way.

Like, let's take a look at...Corruption of Champions and all of its spawns. Game is text-based and for years lacked any sort of visuals (it changed slightly in TiTS and CoC2). It was written well enough to nut to the text alone...and after that, you could still enjoy playing the game like a typical text-based RPG adventure. All of that, without much if any visuals...why? Because someone cared enough to make something other than pure-smut. With Pure Onyx, ero-scenes are pretty much the only thing carrying this project (I've seen better fighting games made in flash 16 years ago and they were free on top of that) and that's a bad sign regardless of how often the updates come out.
