I then have an indirect question about that
Have you ever thought about realizing your goals that you set on patreon?

Specifically meant here is the search for team members and resources in order to be able to work on radiant in a more targeted and faster manner.

Because what you have planned for the game and the time between updates I do not know how long this will go well.
I honestly doubt the people on Patreon will be loyal to you long enough if this continues, I wish that it stays that way,
but a 0.3 version in 15 months is really not a great achievement, or do you really believe that people will wait 6 - 8 years for a "finished" game?

Please don't get it wrong now, because i love your work and the game so far, i'm just afraid that in a matter of time this will be a dead one.
>_> Cut that 15 month figure in about half and you have about the actual time it took for v0.3.

And yeah, we're currently in that process but it's not that easy to do/not something that will happen overnight if we want to keep the same level of quality for our projects. Alorth posted here not far back explaining that he's been training apprentices to help with his work which will certainly be a load off his shoulders once finished, and not something he could've done without us reaching our goals. Until they're ready, though, it's actually extra work for him.

All of that said I wouldn't worry too much as I'm confident our support will only grow as time goes on and we release more updates, but eh, these things can be pretty unpredictable and you frankly just never know. Perhaps you're right.

Either way, how many people support us is not at the forefront of our minds right now: if it was we'd just churn out 20-30m partial/prototype updates every 30 days with little thought or care going into the overall quality of the product. It's not hard to do and we very much would do so if money was all we were concerned about.

Creating the game and doing it right by those who enjoy it is what matters most to us... and we've been very vocal/communicative with our supporters that this means taking a little longer to ensure we get it right. So far, these notions have primarily been met with agreement and encouragement. And so far, the updates we've put out have been met with nothing but appreciation & positivity from our supporters.

Glad you like the game my friend... keep enjoying it and don't get absorbed into the void that is this comment section  If you'd like to know what people actually think about the game and the work we're doing, join us on our official Discord, or a general lewd games Discord like LGP.

Of course Devs do not care if their fans will wait more than 4,5 years for a completed game. They only care how much they earn each month until the game is finished or abandoned. So this is the once per year update game, take it or leave it dude.
A common (and rather bewildering) misconception, one that your comment seems to imply, is that sitting around and not putting out updates for as long as possible somehow leads to growth and more money. This is rather mindboggling to me, as the long gap between updates only makes us lose money. Every time we put out an update we see a surge in our supporters and in-turn our income. Every time there's a gap between updates we lose a large quantity of supporters and in-turn, a large chunk of our income.

This is due to a variety of things like post-game hype, trending threads like this one, additional exposure from sites like F95Zone, and more. To anyone who's paid attention to our subscriber statistics it should be very clear that if our only concern was making money the best course of action for us would be to just throw something together and push it out as fast as possible. Meanwhile, we do the opposite and this is because we care about the game and its players more than our income.

I realize how easy it is for some of those who come to F95 to take for free what they don't want to pay for, then complain when it is "XYZ" for them (not enough content/not developed and published fast enough/ no or not enough H-scenes/ a lack of quality renders or animations as they define it/etc.).

I also love the excuses - I'll become a Patreon when I see more of "XYZ" - then, no matter what they see, just more complaints and no $ support for the creator.

The reality is that no creator owes anyone on F95 a reply or explanation regarding their VN.

If you get help, a response to a post, from another poster or a creator, then that is out of the goodness of their heart - they are helping someone in the community who is typically not permanently toxic about that particular VN.

If you want better responses and explanations - why not support Radiant or find a VN you like well enough to show your support with a $ commitment.

Many people complain when good - great VNs get abandoned due to a lack of support so why not pick a VN you Do like and give them $ support so that they stand a better chance of getting completed versus abandoned.

A good rule of thumb - Don't be a lemming!

If you like the premise of a VN, download it and try it. If you enjoy the VN when you play it, why not show the creator by actively supporting them as a Patreon.

If you don't, why camp and spew vitriol versus checking out more of the literally hundreds of VNs here on F95.

Make up your own mind and ignore the hate-mongers - you don't need them to tell you what to do or to think!

Good game, but this 'Narrator' dude talks WAY TOO MUCH, I think very little player actually would enjoy some dude talks to you all the time even when you about to kiss a gal.
A good V-Noval or RPG is about to place the player into the MC, to make it feels real, but with this narrator thing, it just can't feels real at all.

Let me direct you to this (direct excerpt from the Patreon page):

Common Criticism #1 - the game isn't realistic/believable enough.

Let me be clear about something: Radiant is, and always has been, a fictional adult and erotic fantasy style game with elements of realism. The very premise and plot, by all accounts, is far from "realistic" as you're playing a harem game about a guy who woke up from a coma after ten years and is romancing three wards, two employees, the mother of his manslaughter victim, and a girl who died.

Radiant has never tied itself down to the restrictions and limitations of the real world, and it doesn't plan to start now. Something that is very important to me as a developer is allowing players to escape reality and have fun in a sort of pseudo-realistic erotic fantasy world. The idea is to cater to the fetishes and romantic interests of players; not just when writing sexual content, but when writing the story for this game as well.

That doesn't mean the game will be, or should be wholly unrealistic. You will often find elements of realism or serious subject matter sprinkled in. An example of this would be the circumstances surrounding Gracie's passing: I treated this delicate subject with the utmost care, ensuring that every little detail including the type of cancer that inevitably took her is wholeheartedly realistic and believable as to not trivialize such a heavy subject.

Of course this part of the game is never criticized, and I bring this up because I think it speaks to my abilities as a writer. If I wanted to write a more realistic plot & scenario I very much could, and therefore the not-so-realistic and fantasy scenarios are intentional and should be treated as such. Take everything you read in the game with a grain of salt.
TL;DR:
It doesn't have to feel real, it was never supposed to in the first place.

Still, I agree that too much narration is just off-putting. And it has nothing to do with realism vs. fantasy regarding the content, it is just a matter of presentation that maybe could be handled better. In fact, most of the things narrated are clear from visuals anyway.
Also, from the visuals, I'd say they do go further than other devs in making the player feel like the MC, e.g., some kissing renders/animations are superb first person compared to about any other game.

Almost every game I've played has narration, they just don't define a character called "Narrator" and instead put narrative text in double-quotes. For some reason this is... triggering to some players. I use double-quotes for system messages so the narrator is defined... perhaps that makes it more noticeable but I wouldn't say we use it any more or less than other games.

Also, while there's a lot of narration in the first chapter (around 168 lines -- for various reasons such as there's a lot more needed exposition), you won't find but maybe 20-30 lines (out of thousands) from the narrator in Ch2, Ch3, and onward.

Man i love how their patreon membership "silver" starts at 7 bucks not like others poor devs doing it at 1 or 2 dollas these guys going directly at 7$, yeah they are not greedy at all and not doing this for the munney...
I don't think that too many devs do not think about money at all, especially if they quit their other jobs to be able to spend more time devving. I love my job, too, but wouldn't do it without getting paid. The Star Trek utopia where everybody will get what they need and only work for pleasure or to bring others joy hasn't come to pass yet unfortunately.

It's $5. The $7 is likely after currency conversion for whatever country you live in and/or taxes (which we do not collect) and/or you just not being very good with numbers.

Also, imagine sitting around complaining about how much someone is charging for something you're not even paying for.

Well I guess it's like they say: "Be the change you want to see." Nobody is stopping you from making your own game and charging $1-2 sub fees.

Are you going to continue to release to itch.io? I cannot afford a regular sub but I can grab it on itch when it releases. Also I would sub you for $1 so I felt less guilty about getting the version here for free. I don't want to be underpaid, but I am not having a lot of success in changing it.

You don't have to feel guilty. It's perfectly understandable that not everyone can afford to support all of the devs they like/want to support. And yeah, absolutely. The chapter will be uploaded to itch and GameJolt when v0.3.1 is released (in the next couple days).

Radiant's listing on Lewdpatcher says:

"True Edition (Coming Soon): Enables the "fully-uncensored version" of Radiant, which modifies the base game and adds more risqué content. "

Does this mean there is going to be "more risque content" added to Radiant soon or is this just for version 0.4 and onwards?

Cool! as you said, into the second chapter and so on, this happens a lot less, thanks for making such change. Great game! Love it. :)
