But he has been in contact with the team , hasn't he? He's been out of basketball for like a year and he just had his follow-up appointment with the doctor where he was told that his career is over. Saying that if he tried to play another season he could damage his knee to the point of needing amputation. This is what we're told in the opening scene of the game.

And he takes a coaching job that was waiting for him because he already knew that was most likely going to be the case. That's it. What more is there to speak to the team about? He is basically retired now and cannot play. This is a personal problem of his. He simply wants more pills. And of course he's not going to talk to the team about that, right? It's not their problem anymore. I can understand if he was going to return at some point or something but he's 40 years old with a serious knee injury. He's done
If the team interactions happened since then we don't know and MC's actions do not indicate it either. All I know is if I still felt as if I was still hurt from an injury I would contact them. It was an injury gotten while on the job and professionally/legally the team/league has an obligation to cover that until the doctor says it is done (best to my knowledge). Since we were not told that either I started down this thought process. I also know I'm overthinking this particular point.

My point is that it should be assumed that He has communicated with the team or at least doctor because he was injured a year ago and has obviously been through surgery and rehab and the only treatment he is on right now is pain pills. But the team wouldn't be in charge of that because he's not a player anymore. He is just simply dealing with the doctor. I'm just wondering how talking with the team change anything when they trust the doctor for that medical stuff. He's the team doctor. in charge of everything medical... So how could they override their own doctor. The owner will who probably doesn't know shit about anything medical? I'm just saying it wouldn't really make sense to override the person they put in charge of million dollar athletes. But yeah

Then that makes it worse that she chose to do what she did. Yikes... (unless you choose to cheat on her which would then make her justified after the fact... and most players are going to cheat)

(After re-reading her choice, it's even dumber to me now... like wtf is wrong with her? It's indeed an idiotic test despite her not looking for a separation, divorce, or an open relationship.)

Oof, I had that happen with a girlfriend twice. The second time she asked for a break I said we should just break it off. She got super pissed, swiftly walked away and we never spoke again. No regrets from me.

I don't fully understand "breaks" in relationships anyway. I can understand physically separating for a while (to cool off from burnout, disagreements or other stressors) but then I'd still consider fooling around with others during that time to be cheating.
There aint no fuckin relationship where anyone can get any break or pause! You either are together or break it off or you are the biggest dumbass in all the world who will be cheated on 4sure! So don't be that one it happens too!

I'm not talking about the owner overriding anything he would be an avenue to get communication. The team is going to want all the information for their own safety to prove care was provided. With no dialogue we don't know if the concept of phantom pain/addiction has even been discussed. If the doctor thinks it is addiction other medication or drug rehabilitation should have been suggested. The MC again doesn't act like this is a conversation that has happened. There are a lot of assumptions to be made and I'm not trying to rock the boat with this.
