VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - Red Lucy [v0.9] [LeFrench]

This has godly renders, camera angles, animations... and would be an easy 5 BUT why the hell is this an incest VN or just a VN really, instead of a high quality 3d render slide show? There's literally no build up and the characters go at it after 3 scenes.

I'm lowering my score from what would be a clear 5 to 3 because the story and character development after 5 updates, or better said, the lack of them, are a bad sign for me. And well, this is not a VN without that.

I can only see 2 possible answers to this:
1. Somehow the story will be told as flashbacks in future updates, which is very weird for a game that is released update by update.
2. The dev only made this an incest "story" in order to get some sweet money given how popular the fetish is here. The thing is, he is hiding the game in a website behind patreon in order not to get banned, so why even make it incest in the first place then?

The dev is clearly very fucking talented, given the insane quality of the renders and can earn THE MONEY just by selling batches of renders, taking commissions or something like that. There's really no reason to do this in a visual novel format if you are not going to put effort in the story and characters.

now, renders are off the charts. facial expressions, backgrounds, attention to every detail....yes it's at least equal to the best i have seen. nothing i write here will add to the high praise, i have no doubt (not read other reviews yet), others here have given in lavish detail.
i'm no expert but this was stunning to look at.

i have more to say but not first without talking about my favourite part of a VN. yes i love the N over the V and this one falls a little short there so far.

it's NOT in the dialogue as it is excellently written.

if you take the story and writing alone this has almost no hook and relies on subtle hints to create future intrigue as a hook. you want to know what is in hiding and how it will all play out.....well that is what we are meant to feel.

quite honestly, for me at least, it doesn't. BUT, and this is WHY i rate this so highly, despite currently lacking the writing hook, the developer uses their artistic talent to keep the reader pulled in by allowing the pictures to tell some of the story.


just for me, at this stage, the story is just not yet far enough along in it's opening to have me engrossed. the art certainly does.

when the story progresses to really involve it's plot devices i will no doubt be raising this to max review score, but for this stage i don't feel the same anticipation as i do for others here i enjoy reading.

I am giving this 4 stars only because the developers talent is off the hook. It's hard to find a creator who understands scene blocking and photography rules. Lots of people think photography is easy, and to a certain extent, it is easy to take a photo but it is difficult to take really awesome photos and this dev know what they are doing.

I should also say, this kink is not really my thing. I am not knocking the harem and incest kinks, but at the end of the day, it feels like all of the games on this site are harem/incest and that is just a snoozer for me. You can close your eyes on the Latest Update page and point your finger at any of the titles and I would be willing to bet they are either incest, harem or incest/harem.

Again... nothing wrong with these, but if feels like an easy way out for the dev to pick the most popular genre instead of trying to be original and creative. It just feels like a copout.

I want drama in my stories. I want people's feels to be hurt. I want to see loss. I want to see emotions. On the other hand, I also want to see some amazing content and some fapping material.

I often say that these days, I like a good story on top of the content and this one fits the bill... if you are into harem/incest... if not then you should still download it and give it a try just to see a really high quality production.

There are some games that are exceptional, then there are those that set a new standard. LeFrench has done that in every way possible. The music adds to the mood, focus and pace to each scene. The art work is breathtaking, and the models are ravishing in ethereal desire and earthly ardor. Every digital pixel is perfect in application and placement. The story keeps you enthralled as you never see the next turn, but it feels natural as it's presented to you. The animations leave nothing to the imagination, and even the fabric simulation in the final scene with the MC & Nat is spot on. Supporting 'The Breast Cancer Research Foundation' is a stroke of absolute brilliance. So in sum, the game is awesome and you should stop reading this and play it for yourself.

Awesome game, the premise isn't anything new but I love seeing fresh models, interesting characters and good writing. Highly recommend this game, one of my recent favourites. Will definitely be looking forward to updates.

Ain't this something?!! Great renders, story, pacing, decent animation, sex scenes that feel natural. It has got almost all the ingredients to be a winner on this forum. I won't babble on and on about this, it's got to be played.

Giving it an apprehensive 4 right now, mainly because I'm surprised by the quality of the renders - the angles, posing, character models and lighting are ahead of most renpy VNs on here.

Not usually into the incest tag, but the sister looked so good in the scenes...

Also some animation for the sex scenes as well, which is quite sparse for now, but this still seems to be pretty early in the game.

Music choice suits the acoustic guitar aesthetic and it's role in the story.

As for the story, not quite sure if it's going to be good or bad yet.

Top tier game with mind blowing renders, exciting sex scenes and good writing. It's a whole package with practically no weak points. I'm usually not into incest but this game is so well done that I just love it (and I might pretend they're not related, these are fictional characters after all so it makes no difference to me).

Pros:
+ Superb renders
+ Great lewd scenes (there is no vaginal sex in v 0.5 but this doesn't make this game any less great)
+ Good writing (which is rare in porn games)

It's also worth noting that updates are frequent and you can tell that the dev has a clear goal in mind and he wants to finish this. I'm impressed.

Edit:
I had to deduct one star because of the milking. Recent update has basically no ne content and the dev added some (optional AFAIK) discord spyware and broke the game that way so older saves don't work. Really shitty move. I might deduct even more stars, depending on his future actions (of course I might change back to 5/5 if dev will improve).

VNs these days all have good renders, but this one's renders are so good it blows the others out of the park. The story is well thought of and it seems to be heading somewhere with a clear goal and conclusion. The characters are unique and developing well and the world is building well. Also the music fits perfectly to each and every scene. If it all keeps going this way it will no doubt go down as one of the best games of the site. (provided it doesn't get abandoned)

My only complaint is that there isn't enough content as of 0.5 but hey. quality takes its time. Good luck Le French. Au Revoir.

Review for v0.5

Incest harem games seem to be a dime a dozen on this site, but tried and true, I can enjoy them when there's some actual care put into the game. Red Lucy has managed to leave an impression on me, enough to keep me intrigued at the least.

I seen someone else use the word "atmospheric," and I think that describes the unique feel of the game well. This lets the renders do the talking, while dialogue almost feels minimal in the general amount of it. I think this is actually something that's hard to pull off for two reasons. First, your renders have to be top notch not only in how pretty they look, but with things like poses, angles and environments. Second, that minimal amount of dialogue has to be a lot more... quality for lack of a better word. I value good writing and dialogue, so it's an important aspect to me. Red Lucy has, so far, done a really good job with this.

The renders really are great. You can find a fair amount of good looking AVNs these days, but this feels like a step up from those. The angles, the transitions, the character models, etc. All very very good. It's impressive.

The game sort of drops you into the story. You're not the new guy/starting your journey to corrupt your family. There's pre-established relationships with some substance. While not exactly original, it's a bit of a fresher take. Looking at the sister, the game begins by telling you how "we are closer than normal siblings." Essentially meaning incest vibes right out of the gate. Now with the sister I think it's working so far. Normally I like things to have more of a burn to them, so that it in turn makes scenes more satisfying. But I like the set up for their relationship so far.

Now, where it's not working for me is with the aunt. It feels like I loaded someone's save into the middle of the game with no context as an analogy. Out of nowhere she's naked and we're eating her out. Graphically looks great, but that scene didn't do a ton for me. I was more confused than anything.

It's a bit hard to figure out what type of game this is going to be because of this. There's maybe an hour of content and we're already getting blowed by our sister and eating out the aunt. So will this turn into a fuckfest? Or is there going to be a real story here? Hard to tell honestly, but regardless I enjoyed what I played for the most part.

I think my only other gripe is the lack of sound effects. There's music in some of the scenes, but absolutely nothing in the rest. Give us some motorcycle sounds as we're riding into the city. Some camera clicks when we're taking photos. Stuff like that can go a long way.

This was good enough for me to want to follow it's development, but it's very short in content right now. At the rate the updates are currently going, I feel like I'd need a years worth of them to actually get a good feel for the game. But I digress. I think this is easily worth checking out if you're into the genre.

An incest harem game done right and although this genre is extremely popular, you would be surprised that the good ones you can count on your hands, and up until this point this game is one of them and I hope this continues

the game is still in its beginning, but I have great hopes on this game .
the details are quite nice, there seems to be a lot of potential here.
I am giving it 5 stars, hope things get happier, seems to have a tendency for the tragic.

Red Lucy [v0.5]

Good game great renders. This one male protagonist game yeah big plus I'm not into female protagonist games. Story isn't fresh but I like the pacing of it. Not a grindy sandbox game simple visual novel another plus for me. There is some music to give more ambience to the game. Loved the sister character. There isn't that much content now. But overall I enjoyed the game. Keep up the good work dev looking forward to next updates

Review for up to v0.4

4.5 stars overall. Gorgeous renders and fluent English dialogues. The plot is still developing but doesn't appear overdone. The game doesn't take itself too seriously, which I appreciate. But it isn't so campy and silly as to be ridiculous. Most games on this site have absurd pacing, but even by F95 standards, there are a few relationships here that progress pretty quickly without much time spent teasing.

Music is central to the game in many ways, I enjoyed how the dev incorporated the acoustic guitar into the story. An acoustic guitar with great finger-picking adds a certain vibe, to a game, doesn't it? This aspect reminded me a little of The Last of Us Part Two. (Obviously, I'm talking only about the musical elements.) And that is high praise.

The plot involves some pretty well-warn tropes, including a photography studio scene, where someone models lingerie. But, it's well executed, and I thought it was fun. There are other examples that I won't list here. But the renders make up for a relative lack of imagination with story composition so far.

This is a great game and well worth playing. I will be following along closely, can't wait to try the update.

I'm a bit amazed at how much I like this VN, even though it doesn't have that much content yet. (v0.4.a)
It's probably because the plot is already a bit on the horizon and the relationship between the protagonists reveals a certain emotional and erotic tension without being overtly pornographic.

The relationship shows a lot of emotional closeness but also a lot of potential for conflict. The MC is by no means a high-flyer, but the ladies like him, that much is clear. It's just not obvious yet why that is, and I like these little mysteries. There are always flashbacks, similar to another VN that has the sunset in its name. I would definitely say it was an inspiration for Red Lucy and that's one of the plus points as both VNs excel in using flashbacks as a plot device. So far these flashbacks are doing a wonderful job of illuminating the emotions of the present.

The renders are very good, the protagonists have minimalist facial expressions but enough to show emotions sufficiently. For my taste, Red Lucy could use a little more patience here and there. For example, the musical transitions are sometimes over very quickly. This is a great aesthetic detail that deserves more time to really shine.

Some of the songs are a bit too mainstream for me, it would be great to get to know new songs on the way of a VN that are not on everyone's lips. An insider tip instead of the Red Hot Chilly Peppers chart hits of the 90s please.

But these are all small things. What I've seen so far from Red Lucy is first class for the little content it offers right now. I hope it gets the attention and funding it deserves and that it can live up to its potential.

Review Updated to v0.6:
The story/plot is moving in the right direction. The updates are short but fruitful. The content is less for a 0.6 version, I hope that is just a number. The choices are relatively increased, so I think the choices you make will slowly get back to you in the later part of the game. Hope the game continues to update without any issues and without any deviation.

The story is still incomplete but I have great hopes on this game . I will update the review after the next release.

I will keep it short and straight.

Pros: 1. Amazing renders, nice build up even tho probably a bit too fastidious for some people but no kidding we came here to fap and skip through most parts not the other way around so that's a win for sure.

2. There's plenty MILF and a sis that doesn't look like copypasta downscaled cheap junior high school cheerleader. I like that. Reminds me of sister in Candyman another favorite of mine.

Cons: 1. Content is severely lacking. Latest update seems like a demo rather than true update. I will give it half and year and then come back.

2. Story is confusing because of lack of content like I said. You wouldn't have figured out what's this about yet. Still better than Where's The Father.

3. This is a matter of personal taste but acoustic guitar. C'mon dev, give me some Johnny Silverhand vintage rockerboy rock n' roll bomb Arasaka stuff lol. Strum a view cords MILF opens up her pants and I go full throttle Samurai!

All in all you gotta let this wine age like a fine MILF. Then you'll surely enjoy it.

Pros: Amazing visuals and character models, great use of music and transitions between scenes.

Cons: A little short to really enjoy.

This is an amazing game, that's held back by the short length. The developer has clearly got a plot in mind, and what we play now is being done to "set the scene" as it were. Also, the music really is top notch, with smooth guitar work that fits the scenes and is recognizable to a general audience.

Writing is interesting. Starting with a sexy sister it is just awesome too
Graphics is very modern and stylish. Must be a lot of works needed for all these
Girls are sexy. There are only few scripts with them at the moment. But sure there will be a lot more coming up later
I am excited to play more.
